First, many hotels are in Alençon (and elsewhere), but very few are open in this area this time of the year. Being chains, I knew that both the Ibis and Mercure would be open.
Hit the Ibis first and stayed right there.
An unassuming appearance from the outside, the inside was very warm and welcoming.
Smallish lobby that spills into a splendid attached bar/restaurant serving a delicious drink and food menu.
Fantastic, friendly welcome and greeting from Marie and her colleague who tended both the front desk, the bar and the kitchen.
Rooms are basic Ibis/Accor rooms. Modern, sleek, clean rooms, excellent bath and comfortable beds.
Parking is in a convenient lot adjacent to the hotel.
If you are in Alençon or would like to use it as a base for exploring the area, I can greatly recommend this Ibis.
