Came in for dinner and was seated immediately. We were very impressed as it was a Friday night and it appeared a little busy.
There is a small outside seating area and inside area. The vibe in the restaurant was very upbeat. Looking at the food menu I was ready for an impressive meal. The restaurant is decorated in paintings on the wall and simple table and chairs. The napkins we grandly folded in a cone shape. The table was very precisely set.
Our party of five ordered, bone marrow, escargot, and shrimp croquettes for appetizers, which were all very underwhelming. The bone marrow was just so... It was lacking the professional technical aspects and was not buttery or salted. The escargot came without the shell and it was oily and missing the flavor profile of a basic escargot. It did not have much flavor it was very bland. The shrimp croquettes were mostly cheese and breading with very little shrimp flavor. On the other hand the coq au vin was exquisite. Between the depth of the sauce and the tenderness of the rooster. I can say this was the best I've ever had. The other entrees were chicken in mushroom sauce, mussels, fish, and steak. They were the average run of the mill entree. The steak was supposed to be medium rare but it was still red and bloody. As my friend said prior to eating here, it's hit or miss... I guess it was a combination of both today. This restaurant was ok but definitely not something that I'll go out of the way to eat... Unless it is the coq au vin. read more
