We ordered a prix fixe lunch - french onion soup to start. There was a sheen of oil throughout the soup, making it barely edible. The cheese was nonexistent and nearly tasteless. And the bread in it was just limp, soaked and nasty. I was so hungry, but ate less than half. Not good. For my entree I had the beef bourgignon - again a layer of oil in the sauce. The meat was tender but with a super-strange flavor. The rice with it was underdone, the veggies were bad, just. . .no. Her chicken was equally unremarkable. I can't speak for the coffee, tea, or anything but the food here is just bad. The place is nice and the staff is good enough, but eat anywhere else. Please.

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the number of local people inside lets you know this place MUST be good. This is an authentic French bistro. We had duck foie gras, fish, lamb, and orange blossom creme brulee. Everything was fantastic. What was lovely about this place was the service and size. It's small. Maybe 10 tables. There is only one waitress who was very kind and helped us with our poor French language skills. The chef also came out and talked to each of the tables a little bit throughout the night. It's always nice to see the person who makes your food, and it's even better when you can let them know how much you appreciate it. When and if I am in Paris again, I would definitely go back.

Ten minutes later, families and regulars started showing up for their Sunday midday meal. Despite the increasing hubbub, our waiter's attention didn't wane as the restaurant filled up. Knowing that this was a chain, we weren't expecting four-star service, and were pleased that we were treated so royally. Del Papa focuses on the little extras: pitted olives to start (canned, but I wasn't expecting fresh), breadsticks, and warm bread with a crunchy dark crust. The breadstick wrappers and near-empty dish of olives were whisked away promptly by our kind waiter. The pasta was tempting, but in the end I had a gorgonzola and rucola pizza. It didn't wow me, but it had a nice flavor and was just filling enough. My partner's pizza was also just so: filling and tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. Both were reasonably priced. Not everything was reasonable, though: the Coke cost 5€ a bottle!
