Micasa is about as fun as it can get in a cafe…read more A hipster cereal bar with a wide variety of cereals to choose from plus smoothies, smoothie bowls, and more. Finally, I got to go to a cereal-centric restaurant. Oh la la ! And Micasa was way more than I expected it to be. They have a wide variety of cereals to try, including Chex and Chocolate Chex (which are gluten-free ... a fact I had bothered to think about until going there), Reese's Puffs, Lucky Charms, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Their traditional smoothies are served in cute little floats for the pool even though you're nowhere near water. Of course, they have smoothie bowls, ones which you can make as healthy or as not-so-healthy as you like. Pancakes with cereal, fruit and chocolate syrup, and more, if you want. They have the typical toppings you find at an ice cream and frozen yogurt bar, so you can really ramp it up as much as you want. Basically, everything can be mixed and matched to your preferences. The combinations are endless. Of course, they have espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, and chocolat chaud. Yeah, and there are milkshakes. I mean, why not? Oh! And orange juice. Wait. Did I mention they have traditional breakfast meals, like eggs and toast? And salads? They do. On a more personal note, Micasa was there for me when I recovered from being sick for a week. It was the perfect comfort/healthy food to dive into after an illness, so much so that I went back a couple of times more before having the leave Aix for Avignon. They are open from breakfast through late afternoon tea, which is great. Personally, I wish there were open for dinner and overnight because who just eats cereal for breakfast anymore? But I will absolutely not take off a star for that. No way. Micasa deserves every star and then some. I'm serious. This place rocks. The owners of the place have remembered all of the details of making a cafe an uber hit right down to the super cool vibe and interior design and food presentation. This place not only has a great menu of healthy and/or decadent meals to try, but it is also picture-perfect. Not a hair outta place. You feel happy here. And that right there sets the stage for the perfect meal. They offer delivery via deliveroo, so you can still enjoy your favorites safely at home. I feel a little bit like a used car salesman touting all of these perks, but seriously, this place is all you could hope and dream for in a cereal/breakfast/smoothie bar. I wish I had remembered to take more photos.

We just had the best meal since coming to France at Le Jardin d'Amalula (The Garden of Amalula)…read more When we asked the owner what Amalula means, she said it is a contraction of the first names of her daughters: Amandine, Lucile, and Laurine. Laurine is the chef. The outside of the restaurant is inconspicuous; in fact, we walked right past it. But you walk down a corridor, through a small courtyard, and then into the small restaurant. But it's the garden out back that is beautiful. That's where we sat. My wife had Le Provençale, a tartine (toast) with bush cheese, red fruits jam, dried figs, dried tomatoes, and parma ham (like prosciutto). Delicious! I chose the plat du jour based on the owner's recommendation. Not sure what it's called but it was a tartine with tuna tartare & passion fruit, chutney with mango, pineapple, & red pepper, slices of avocado, and orange zest with pink berries. I don't know how they do it. Amazing flavor combinations. Glad we found this place with plenty of time to go back another time or two. Highly recommend!

They had a menu translated in english as well to remove any question on what you are ordering. We sat outside and on the Terrance and really enjoyed both. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
