Spent a semester abroad, and this was the only Bouchon I visited ... But it was worth it!
I was here during La Fête des Lumières, so the entire strip of restaurants in this area had their bouchon menus out, but this place seemed to provide the an assortment of options for the best price! At this time, the total for the meal was 22€ which included a 3 course meal.
ONION SOUP: I'm not a huge fan of onion soup, but I decided to get this since it was the "French" thing to do. There was a plethora of cheese, the bread was great, the soup wasn't too salty, but there was an entire bay leaf and some other leaf stem in my soup that was too stiff to consume (even though it was probably boiled down a ton in their cooking pot. These two things made it slightly difficult to eat, but it was tasty overall.
SALMON COOKED IN FOIL: Succulent, lovely, would 11/10 eat this again. The potatoes and roasted vegetables that came with this dish were amazing and I had never tasted anything like it before! You can definitely tell they made their salmon with white wine, but since I'm not a chef I have no idea if tasting the wine or not is a good thing. Just thought I'd make note of it.
"MOLTEN" CHOCOLATE CAKE: Alright, this wasn't exactly what I expected since American molten chocolate cakes definitely have running chocolate on the inside of the cake, but this one didn't. In fact, the melted chocolate seemed to be drizzled over top the cake ... The inside of it was softer but it didn't have that lava effect. read more
