It's one of few Indian restaurants, especially in Paris, that actually makes you think you are eating in India. Of course, for those sensitive to spices, the levels can be toned down. But the taste and flavours are fantastic! This restaurant spécialisés in South Indian food, especially from the states of Kerala and Tamilnadu. Try their speciality crepes, the Appams. Being a vegetarian, I love pairing the Appams with 'Ulli Theyal' or even 'Gobi Manchurian'. Meat eaters have more of a choice, though there are many vegetarian options as well. If you're in the 10ème, in the La Chapelle/Gare du Nord area, this place is a must visit.

Palak paneer left much to be desired, was a little low on the flavor side. Butter paneer was much better, a little sweeter, and had a coconut flavor coming through. The plain parathas were thick and fluffy, great for sopping up sauces. The cheese paratha was really my star of the show- it was a kinda of Brie/cream cheese filling that was gooey on the inside. Somehow, it really brought extra flavor out in the entrees. We arrived at an opportune time, so we didn't wait, but we were the last to arrive before the rush. After us, there was a constant wait and solo customers were seated in any available space, even with other guests. This did not impact us. The staff did not rush any of the guests to turn over tables and accommodate the rush. The food seemed to be made upon request and the staff was constantly moving and serving. In sum, if you are a vegetarian, looking for relatively cheap and tasty Indian food, don't mind a divey/crowded atmosphere, definitely check this place out- it clearly gets a lot of hype.

We had butter chicken + another chicken dish, lamb, paneer, dal along with mango lassi and butter/garlic naan. The curries were exquisite and one sign of the finesse was the texture of the curries was just the right viscosity + it had lots of cashews which a master stroke. Service was good, full of courtesy and the decor was magnificent and so was the ambience. I had my wife + 2 kids with me. Every one thoroughly enjoyed the meal and would love to go back.

The food (had the paneer saag, garlic naan, and basmati rice) was perfect in ever way. You can tell they used good, quality ingredients. I'm picky about Indian food (since I ate the best in the US), so for me to rave about this restaurant means it was that good. Will definitely be going back if I ever travel to Paris.
