In the 20's and 30's it was a premier resort location on the French Riviera! Unlike the more famous Riviera beaches of today, the beach at Sablettes is beautiful SAND not rocks or pebbles. The hotel is very luxurious having been totally rebuilt a few years ago by a group of excellent French Hoteliers and rebranded under the Hilton chain as a Curio. We have had many excellent stays at this hotel that was recommended to us by Hilton. The little Galerie restaurant serves excellent food either indoor our outdoor in the garden with beautiful views of the "Deux Fréres" . The chef prepares wonderful cuisine, the wait staff is always friendly, excellent, and multi-lingual. We always enjoy an aperitif afternoons in the garden. This is one of the BEST locations along the French Riviera. Shhhh, please don't tell anyone!

The menu is small but something for everyone and in a variety of choices...one entree and one main plate, or main plate and dessert, all three, etc. I ate a wonderful quinoa cake on a bed of a fresh tomato coulis with squash flowers stuffed with seafood. It also has a bit of olive oil sorbet on top. It was gorgeous. my fish was less exciting in that it was fish on a banana leaf with a mango topping. Also a beautiful dish. I woudl go back here as there are not a lot of choices on the boardwalk to eat.

Yes, let's first state the obvious: the view is AWESOME…read more The restaurant is situated at about 2 to 3 meters from the sea. With wide open views you will hear the sound of the waves during your whole meal... I would definitely recommend trying to make a reservation if possible and ask for a table next to a window. You will not regret it. The reception and staff in general were very friendly and helpfull, a pleasure to have around. For drinks we had a very nice rosé housewine ( 17 € / bottle ). As an aperitif we had some mojito's As a starter we both took beef carpaccio's. A pretty large portion with some "south of france" extra touches to it: some extra cheese, tomatoes, olives,... pretty good. As our main course we both hadh a plate of fresh seafood ( 25 € ). A Nice big plate of various seafood ( shrimps, tuna, dorade, squid rings, gamba, mussels,...). Value for your money: great. Maybe all in all a bit oversized. As a dessert we had the "créme brûlée"...a timeless classic served as it should be. Was everything perfect: no there were some things that could be better: the tuna was a bit over cooked, the rice wasn't all that great and the owner seemed a bit too busy to make up the final bill. But all things combined: this restaurant oozes charm, delivers a great meal served by a friendly staff and within a beautiful, stunning setting

First of all..the server was super nice and fast. I ordered a burger which I never do in France. It was juicy and full of flavor with fantastic toppings and sauce. The fries were perfect home made and hand cut. I might have come for dinner again for a fish special..a white fish..loup I think, in a coconut curry sauce with a quiche and veggies on the side. Very good meals both times!

We got the full course meal for £28 and a bottle of pretty good Rosé for £22 to share. Both the food and the service were great. And hats off to the owner who literally was the only waiter in the packed little restaurant and was serving the wine, making the espressos, bussing tables, taking orders, making desserts, speaking to each table a bit, having a wonderful attitude, and doing it all in good timing to all the satisfied customers. The chef himself even pitched in with helping serve, totally in sync with the owner. These two amazing guys totally changed my and my wife's perspective about how other restaurants are run - especially when tipping here is more of a courtesy and in the states many restaurants just add 18% on to your bill for gratuity regardless of the service you got. I left the owner just 10 euros and he was so thankful and graciously declined but promised he'd give it to the kitchen staff when we insisted that we just had to appreciate them with a tip. Unreal, awesome, classy, can't wait to return.
