The pain au chocolat had an ample amount of chocolate inside, was crispy on the inside, and soft on the inside. The butter croissant was airy and flaky. There are plenty of other pastry options within the shop to choose from - would definitely recommend stopping by if in Lyon!

I stopped by around 1pm on a Monday and there was about 3-4 people in front of me, but it moved quickly. The staff were super friendly, and they spoke English as well. They had so many delicious looking pastries and savory items. I'd heard that Lyon is known for this pastry, brioche praline, so I wanted to try it out. I personally wasn't a fan of the taste. Just not my cup of tea, but I'm sure the other pastries were good. I'd come back and try other items.

She just turned 12 last week and so with so much joy and excitement, they went to the cafe. The woman (red-haired) opened the door with NO smile, NO friendliness and even after my husband said with so much joy that our daughter was 12. Guess what her reaction was? She said, "Is she really 12?" She was mean and gave terrible customer service. Why would she start with such distrust when he just said our daughter was 12 and had been waiting for a year to come? On the other hand, there was a woman with dark hair who was VERY kind. She smiled and welcomed them and the customer service was excellent. She explained about the cheesecake, different types of milk, etc. We have lived in France for almost 7 years and are TIRED of awful service. I wasn't even hungry at the time, but without a second thought, I went inside the bakery and ordered a chocolate-and-almond croissant. This pastry is easily the best thing that I'd eaten on my month-long trip in Europe, and likely all the times that I'd been to Europe. It came in the shape of a traditional pain au chocolate, but the the top had shards of roasted almonds while the inside was filled both almond paste and dark chocolate strips. It was so good that I almost, almost ordered a second one until I decided to think of my health and ordered a standard croissant instead. The croissant was also fantastic, just not as amazing as the chocolate-almond croissant. I almost didn't know what this bakery was called, since it only had a 'P' logo in front of its door, but thankfully Google Maps helped me find it. It's a very small bakery that already had a small line forming out the door after I finished my croissant. Cash only! Also, it's cash-only! I believe I spent less than 4 euros on the two pastries.

A thin apple tart was crispy on the bottom and layered with super thin slivers of apples- wonderful. The almond croissant was good not great- a bit too sweet somehow. As this is our first morning in Lyon we will certainly be back for the rest of the week to try more and more especially since it is fortunately just around the corner. The plain croissant reminded me of something I would get at a hospital or a bakery that labels things as croissants when they are clearly not. No flaky outer layer...just the same as what you find inside. So sad. As if this wasn't enough of a disappointment, as my husband and I sat down to enjoy our cappuccinos (sadly made from a machine and not espresso as I had hoped), we discovered that neither of our coffees actually had any coffee in them and were literally just the milk. The only reason this place gets any stars is I did also purchase a bread with raisins and nuts and I thought it was actually ok.
