My nails looked great when I arrived, now they are peeling, uneven, and look awful. My boyfriend and I made an appointment here for mani/pedis (dip for me, as I already had dip polish). First, they damaged my nails. They let the acetone sit way too long on my nails for removing the gel polish, and by the time they removed it, it had dried and they had to do it all over again + use the electric files to get it off. Now, two days later, my nails are peeling. After she shaped my nails and removed my cuticles, I decided to just leave. My nails were uneven, she was rushing because they overbooked and we had already been there nearly 2 hours. They completed my boyfriends mani/pedi before finishing even my pedi, despite us having appointments. They also had a family of appointments after ours and began their mani's first. My nails are damaged, my boyfriend is unhappy with his, and we wasted a lot of time & money for these results. Would not return read more

I am a Duke student who loves going to Le Nail as it is right across the street from campus. I have used Le Nail since I've arrived at Duke and have always been impressed by their reliable, good service at prices that don't break the bank. Their salon is stylish and they play classical versions of pop hits - which turned me on to listening to this genre in my free time as well. I am a personal fan of their pedicures and have always been happy with how they turned out! I have never felt like my stylist rushed through our appointment and I love that you can walk in and not have too long of a wait before getting served. Great place to go and not feel bad about the cost of your pedicure! Definitely give it a try :) read more

The only thing good about this place is the location. That's about it. Came here spontaneously with a friend for gel manicures, and it was EMPTY when we walked in - should've known that wasn't a good sign. The lady who did my nails gave me a small but painful cut on my pinky finger, and the actual mani looks rather sloppy in my opinion (you can see that the edges of the nails are not smooth or clean whatsoever). I just hope, at the very least, that the gel doesn't start chipping anytime soon...we'll see. Not worth $30 - won't be back here. read more

WORST nail salon I've ever been to. They had such an attitude and couldn't do basic nail shapes, and also lied about their pricing over the phone. They couldn't do the simple almond shape I asked for, even with a picture in front of them, and got mad and left me when I wanted the nails shorter, even though I told her from the beginning that I wanted them a little shorter. The next associate was SO rude when I was trying to find a simple nude nail color and acted like I was asking for something obscure, and told me to find it on the shelf--only to eventually pull it from the back room?? She also was so rude when painting my nails, and aggressively asked me if they were fine when I was just glancing at them. The crazy part was that they were treating other certain customers really nicely, but made my friend wait at least 20 minutes, even though we had a reservation and were one of the first few people there. read more

I got a paraffin wax pedicure and it was one of the best pedicures I have ever had. They had a wide selection of polishes and corresponding gel/sns powder. I have been to Le nail for years, but under new ownership everything seems super rushed. After a French dip manicure yesterday, today my cuticles are red and sore. The manicurist was rough and seemed to grind my nails with mechanical tools. He often let the tool slip, leaving me with rough, sore cuticles. Also, he filed hard on my nails, so much that I yelled ouch! But he didn't stop, didn't even react!. My nails sting. Never again. read more

I went to get a gel manicure last week. After a few days, my taupe color begin to turn to a yellow green tint. I went back in to ask about it and... first, the man in charge facetimed someone who was driving and showed her my hand. After talking on the phone for several minutes, he said I could pick out a new color to get a second gel manicure. He mentioned that this had happened with this color before (why was it back on the shelf?) and denied my request to get a small refund and regular manicure. So I picked out a new gel color. Then, half way through my gel manicure, I realized the woman doing my nails was using regular polish. I stopped her and after talking with her colleagues to confirm that she wasn't using the correct polish, she removed the polish and started over. Ultimately, I walked out an hour later with a new gel manicure. Now five days later, my nails are browning and the purple has turned brown. I'm going to remove my polish. Very disappointed. I went for a polish change and decided to go here because I was close by running errands. It took an hour and a half just to get a polish change that made my nails look WORSE than before. The old color was not even removed all the way and the new color is streaky and blobby and thick. Sloppy. It changed the whole shape of my nails ( that I originally had done somewhere else). Terrible job and customer service. Mimi did my nails. The shape was horrible. My acrylic overlay was NOT SMOOTH AT ALL and the clear coat she applied didn't cover my entire nail in some spots. I called the next day to let her know the issue. She insisted because she the one that did my nails there's no way they could messed up. I told her I'd drive across town so she could see for herself. When I arrived she saw how bad they looked and then tried to blame me saying I must've done something like put my hands in acetone or something.... wrong! After minutes she agreed to apply another layer of polish which will not fix the issue because the acrylic itself is bumpy. I decided to NOT waste my time so I left and will never return. read more

Painful experience! I wanted a Mani with a buff and cuticle treatment (i.e. cut down the cuticles). I nearly jumped out of my chair with each clip. The nail tech pulled my cuticle and skin with each clip. I stated from the beginning that I wanted my nails buffed and no color. This is what I ended up with because at the end, I was told that it would cost extra. My first and last visit unless they acquire nail techs that know how to work on natural nails. read more

Worst gel manicure i have ever got. Literally did not even last 4 days.

I have been to Le Nail multiple times, with the cheapest prices in the area I liked to go here. However, after today I decided I will no longer be a customer. After showing the man doing my nails a picture of what I wanted, and telling him 2 additional times I wanted to keep the almond nail shape, he continued to do a coffin shape. As I noticed he was filing my nails wrong, I said once again, I want almond and not coffin. He said he knew and finished filing my nails, and attempted to move onto the next step even though he continued to file my nails square and coffin. I said, AGAIN, I wanted almond and not coffin. He said, "you said coffin." I would understand if this was a miscommunication if I only said this 1 time, but after showing him a picture, telling him before AND while he was filing, what excuse is there for that??? He then proceeded to file my nails extremely roughly and in a rushed manner, as if it was my fault he filed the nails in the wrong shape. I felt extremely uncomfortable as he seemed visibly mad that I spoke up. I will not come back here again (I also paid almost $90 for a fill-in and pedicure). Never again. read more

this was a terrible experience. i was charged 40 dollars for a FILL IN for my acrylics and they charged me extra because of the length even though they were only filling them in so my nails were already long and they did not perform that service... they also charged extra $10 for gel polish when that was the only choice offered to us. my friend got a full set and her nails are completely uneven shapes and not what she asked for. when i brought up the price discrepancy the employee was very rude and continued to try to argue with me even though i immediately relented and tried to end the conversation when he started to get aggressive.
