This restaurant by the ocean was amazing! The waiter was super nice and friendly. He couldn't speak English but he tried very hard. At one point he event Google it for us. The food was amazing! Everything we ordered here was amazing. Especially the mussels. Best mussels I've ever had. Somehow the mussels are buttery and melt in your mouth! Love it! If you go to this island you MUST try this restaurant!

Imes de Lérins is the smaller of the two and we have been told less touristy. An oases of peace and tranquillity, a world away from the hustle and bustle of the Riviera. Pack a picnic or enjoy food and wine from a cafe, the only one on the island. Hike through beautiful paths that lead to a historic castle, an Abbey, church, cafe and gift shop. The scenery is breathtaking. The flowers, wildlife and water views are spectacular. No flushing toilets, an open pit in the bathroom awaits those In need. Just remember to lean or you will wet your shoes!

There are really nice restaurants and cafes in this square. They are perfect to have a drink, enjoy coffee/ pastries or in the evening have dinner. I recommend going at least twice: once early morning, and once early evening. I came at 7am on a weekday and it was a ghost town. I was able to really take in the aesthetic the square had to offer (and take some tripod selfies without anyone else in the picture!). Later, I came back around 9pm--it was a total shitshow (in the best way possible). The liveliness of Vieux-Nice poured onto Place Masséna with people all over the square eating, drinking, and taking in the street performers. Romantic and expansive views over the water and Port Vauban in Antibes. This fort is located about…read morea 20 min walk NE from the main train station, nearly 40 minutes by foot from the Picasso museum. It's also possible to take a cab though the last part of the journey to reach the fort is a 10 minute walk along a gravel/dirt trail up a slight slope so you can't escape at least some walking. The fort entry is only €3, which can be purchased at the small entry ticket office. Access to the top of the fort is only available when accompanied by staff, and they shared that there was a tour starting in 20 minutes in both French and English so I decided to join. There are several rooms with exhibits on the history of the fort which are available for perusal. The take you thru the various stages of building and the various uses it's served. Appreciation to the staff member who led the tour--she had a lot of energy and passion for sharing information about Fort Carre and Port Vauban to a small group of about a dozen people in both French and English, keeping the atmosphere light by cracking a few jokes. She took us around the main areas in the fort along the top of the walls and back down--an enjoyable 30 minutes! Afterwards it's optional to walk around outside on the grounds, which I did for a bit before heading back towards Antibes. Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible given the distance from main road and the stone stairs and narrow walkways in parts of the castle. Also no bathrooms are available at the fort so take that into account when planning your trip.

Wish I had done my homework as the Villa has an on premise restaurant. Manageable walk from the Beaulieu-sur-Mer train station taking the scenic coastal route in which you will be greatly rewarded with numerous photo opportunities. It's a gorgeous estate built as a winter house for Béatrice de Rothschild (yes of the famously wealthy Rothschild family*) between 1907-1912, that is currently managed by the Academie des Beaux Arts, having been bequeathed this estate in 1933 by the owner prior to her passing. As a significant collector and appreciator of art, the property houses a varied array of art forms from different eras, that Béatrice acquired over her lifetime. The gardens are also cultivated with several distinct themes. Located on Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, the villa smack dab (~10 km away) from both Nice and Monaco. The closest train station is Beaulieu-sur-Mer from where you can take bus #15 directly to the outer driveway entrance, about 5-6 minute walk slightly uphill to the ticketing entrance and gift shop. Arriving by car there is free parking available in a lot. The views from the villa's elevated position on a hill overlooks the Bay of Villefranche and the Bay of Beaulieu. A tremendous number of mansions (owned by the ultra wealthy and celebrities) also dot the landscape. Walking up to the entrance, tickets can be purchased inside or prior online. Regular adult tickets are €18, €12 reduced, free for children 7 and under. A combined ticket along with Villa Kérylos is available for purchase on-site only for €24. It's possible to visit both in one day with time to spare, as they're only about 10 minutes driving from each other. Inside, on the left hand side of the lobby free audio guides are available, there is also a free activity book for younger children. The tour takes you around the first floor first, then around the second floor, providing information on Béatrice's life and times, explaining the history of the villa and the highlights of the collection in each room. The total tour takes about 45 minutes. The rooms are gorgeous period rooms with an eclectic variety of decorative furnishings, sculptures and paintings. The grand scale of the main lobby and bath room impressed me. After this I'd recommend taking a stroll in the gardens, where you can enjoy the musical fountains and varied landscapes of each themed garden - French, Spanish, Florentine, stone, Japanese, exotic, rose and Provençal. If you're into the outdoors, horticulture or simply looking for a beautiful place to relax, you could spend hours here. I only spent about 45 minutes in the gardens and felt there was so much more to see. There are miles of walking paths. Mostly not handicap accessible though parts are. There's a tea-room restaurant that's set up in what appears used to be the formal dining room. It's open for lunch and dinner with a break between. Every morning (except Monday), there is a beautiful farmers' market in the middle of Cours Saleya that offers everything from herbs to hats. I initially went around 7am, while all of the vendors were setting up. Not many people were around, and it was very cool seeing the market take shape. I later returned at noon, and the street was absolutely teeming with tourists and locals alike. It doesn't take much time there to appreciate the vast cornucopia that is Marché aux Fleurs, so I highly recommend strolling down Cours Saleya during business hours! Happily, Clayton Cohn

It's a long street where vendors of all sorts sell their wares. Fruits, vegetables, flowers, lavender packets, spices, food like socca (a Nice special), antiques, souvenirs, arts and crafts, etc. There are restaurants in the background. It's crowded. I got here after lunch and the socca vendor closed for the day. There were a bunch of people and vendors but not much products left. Plenty of flower vendors, some vendors selling fruits and vegetables.
