What a great thing it is, for an American visiting on business to be able step through a pair of…read morepretty boring doors, and find himself in a Pirate bar in the middle of Toulouse. Our group spoke little french, the bartender looked a little concerned, but very quickly we figured out that this was going to be about rum, especially the beautifully unmarked bottles of (housemade?) flavored rums. We got a round of ten shots in a wacky little ship's wheel, and the bartender poured us his favorites. By the time it ended for dinner, there was another round of shots, and in the middle some Caipirinhas in there too. The floor-to-ceiling dark wood, decor, vibe was all spot-on, what a great place to hang out and enjoy some exotically flavored rhums.
