Very disappointed. We attended a comedy show and were seated in the correct seats. After the show…read morestarted, a couple arrived late and another staff member evicted us from our seats. He told us we were in a side section. After signing back into Ticketmaster and proving we were in the correct seats (with other people telling him what section we were in), he wanted to leave the other couple in our second row seats and have us move. All this time we were all blocking the show for those behind us. Plus we missed the start of the show. We finally were allowed back into our seats without an apology. I was so mad that I didn't enjoy the show. Staff need to know the sections and how to treat people.

Very similar in architecture and space, it is a unique change of scenery for conferences and events that I usually attend in the Twin Cities. I was expecting this space to be much smaller than other venues since it is in Rochester but it is actually very adequate in showcasing large events and activities. I was impressed by the amount of events and shows that are sponsored through this space, as well as bigger ticket names coming through. I will have to start checking their calendar to see what comes through since I only live an hour out from Rochester. The Civic Center is located right in the heart of Rochester off of the river so it is really easy finding parking or somewhere to eat as well as navigating while in downtown.

The concession stand was good, we ordered a couple of items from there including drinks and nachos. To get away from the chilly temps, we liked the above (2nd floor) lookout.

The basics: single indoor ice sheet, seating on one side, heated lobby, locker rooms, bonus outdoor second sheet of ice with "indoor" boards just steps out back. Several things make this arena notable. *the outside is green, which you quickly forget once inside (see point 2 below), so when you arrive here for the first time look for the "Green Monster" arena building. *Great painting of team colors all over the place in orange and black for their Tigers. *outside rink outback with real hockey boards and glass. No stands, just stand in the snow. *Small heated lobby with some booth seating and occasion concessions. *indoor second level "suite" area is a small space upstairs above lobby with seating, classic photos and paintings all behind the glass overlooking one corner of the arena. This space is cozy. *the score box is an elevated secure space perched above the penalty boxes and I've been inside... it's heated and awesome. *I was told the main seating area is rather cold (yes even for an ice arena) and the above heaters may not have been on during our game. *one mystery for my next visit is the far corner of the arena. This area looks like it was walled off for storage or lockers. And then someone said, let's make a deck on top of that. This looks like a fun place to watch a game, the second level area has deck fence up there, but I didn't see a way up there and suppose that was intentional to keep people like me out. *One final thing I enjoy was they drive the zamboni half a block away and dump out the scrapped ice in a nearby park. Seriously, how often do you see a zamboni driving down the street past a bunch of parked cars?

Prices are going up and a lot of portions are getting smaller. Certain items we just stopped buying. The soft pretzels are good, but they changed the cheese last year. It's now a white cheese that tastes terrible. I'm sure they went with a cheaper brand. The chicken breast fillets used to be good, but this year they're smaller and dry. The popcorn is good, when it isn't too salty and the price went way up. Cheese curds and onion rings are in very small portions and average about a dollar for each piece of food. We wouldn't mind paying about money if the portions were a decent size. Not happy and not going to buy a lot of that stuff anymore. One thing I find hilarious is the over priced ice cream cones. There have been a lot of regulars at the games who stopped buying them as of last year. You get a small cone with no ice cream in it at all and the so-called one scoop is more like a half a scoop, perched on top of the cone. We've started to eat our meals before we go to the game, when before, we always had our dinner at the game. Costs a lot less, tastes better, and saves us a lot of money!

We got Club Deck tickets, where we got unlimited food, soft drinks, and 3 adult beverages. Good deal, good seats. The Loggers didn't play too well this game, but the biggest downfall was the Ballpark DJ. This person played music between every pitch...every...pitch. It was overstimulating and made the game unenjoyable halfway through. You couldn't just enjoy the game. The playlist was small, on repeat, and just not reading the room well. The announcer was on top of his game, though and helpful with live and between-innings updates.
