Our first night we had dinner plans that didn't work out - Francois to the rescue - whipped up a late night, 3-course meal with servers and his own son as the sommelier. The service only went up from there for breakfast, and the following dinner was introduced outdoors with champagne and biscuits. This place is that of a fairy tale, and I would highly recommend looking no further when browsing for a place to enjoy your weekend!

The rooms turned out to be breathtaking and the atmosphere of the place was for the lack of better words cinematic. You'd expect Emma Thomson come running into the room with some fresh cut flowers. Something she actually did in a the film about Chopin that was shot in this very castle. The surroundings with the garden, the pool, the extra house that doesn't really fill any real function except that is just great to hang out in and the endless lawns are also worthy royalty. Wine cellar is small but there are some great stuff here. Had a chateauneuf du pape I never tried and it was excellent. Downside? Sure. The food. The dinner is served in the fabulous grand salon and the atmosphere is familiar and a bit posh, but what do you expect when you dine in a castle right? Well, the food. They managed to get that over-cooked and non spiced school-food taste down to a T. If that is your thing, this food is excellent. If not, it's the most boring thing since 80s Volvos. I do recommend the place but bring a baguette and some cheese.
