Charcoal gnocchi with some superb roasted parsnips
    Evan D.

My wife and I had been to Chef Compagnon's other places a few times and loved them both (especially Le 52) so decided to pop in to Richer a few nights back. It's definitely quieter than Le 52 and smaller/less cute than Cafe Compagnon, but it was a pleasant space all the same. Also the service was, as expected at one of Compagnon's places, fantastic. As to the food -- other than the duck being too chewy it was outstanding 1. Butternut carpaccio -- everything I've had at Cafe Compagnon or Le 52 featuring root vegetables was amazing, so this starter was no different 2. Veloute of potatoes and mushrooms -- I had almost the exact same soup at Le 52 and it was a bit better, but I still loved it 3. Duck with celery millefeuille and spinach -- a few pieces of the duck were too chewy to eat but the rest of the dish tasted quite good 4. Charcoal gnocchi with roasted parsnips -- The gnocchi were really nice and paired really well with the sweet and earthy parsnips. As mentioned above anytime root vegetables are in the equation Compagnon really shows up! 5. Chocolate biscuit with pecan caramel and hazelnut ice cream -- more straightforward than the other desserts I've had at Compagnon's places but absolutely amazing. Especially enjoyed the creamy hazelnut ice cream Although I liked Richer less than Cafe Compagnon and Le 52 I still loved it

The yoghurt sorbet was the best dessert I ever had

Le Richer is our go to for elegant, easy dining. Super fresh ingredients, expert preparation, and lovely presentation. Lunch or dinner, we are never disappointed and always have lovely, quick service. Le Richer particularly excels in seafood, with really light, wholesome recipes. They also have a great wine list with easy prices. One thing I have to talk about is the yoghurt sorbet. I'm not typically a dessert eater, but made an exception since this sounded so unique. So happy I did, because this dish is genius. So light, sharp, and delicious. Paired with a Framboise brandy, it was a moment in my life full of emotions and happiness that I will never forget.

I decided to try this place since it's a Gib Gourmand and I've been struggling to find good food in Paris. Sadly being featured on Michelin guide doesn't appear to be a mark of quality. The fish of the day was a white fish and it was rather bland. It could've used some spices to liven it up. My friend got the onglet de bœuf Scottish and he said the same thing, that it was bland. We both agreed that we wouldn't come back here since the food just wasn't that great. We did have some full-bodied red wine from Bordeaux that was excellent. The bread was also really good. However, these two things don't make up for average tasting food.

A visit is a must, while reservations are unavailable for the Michelin star rated restaurant located in our neighborhood while our stay in Poissonnière, so why not celebrate in ALL the rights ways! Our evening was sensational ordering the salmon & the pork, along with first, burrata and lastly dessert, apple & rhubarb. The ambiance is remarkably causal yet chic, so while in Paris visiting the 9e, folx must visit and wait "the short time" at the bar for an exceptional experience. Thank you to the staff for making the evening so incredible & having our celebration that much more exceptional!

Wow, we had dinner here on our first night in Paris, and Richer definitely did not disappoint. The place was recommended by our host (B&B) and we were very fortunate to get a table, as we were arriving during the busy dinner hour. The customer base is definitely locals but the experience set us up for the remainder of our trip! The table top had a beautiful, sparkly, shiny presentation, and everything was "just so!". The staff was very friendly, and although our server confessed to it being her first night on the floor, she was quite helpful and charming, and didn't hesitate to get help from a supervisor when necessary. The other staff members were all terrific, too. The crab salad was excellent and as an entrée, the larger portion was very filling and generous. My husband loved his roast chicken, and the attention to detail with regard to delicately prepared, tasty sides was really great. The fingerling potatoes and tiny button mushrooms were delicious. We had three courses, and wine, and our bill was 104.00 Euros. We considered that a very reasonable price for our experience. It was a great spot.

Albacore tuna. It was OK not great....

Really wanted to like this place but it is not worth visiting. Good ambience, not very friendly but functional staff, good wine list.....and the food is mediocre at best. Try l'office next door, which is under the same management. Richer is probably a bit cheaper but cheaper for something incomparable.

Rating: 98/100 pts The best meal I had in France. Even if you don't read to the end, at least know that. This place was completely filled with locals, and we were lucky enough to have been seated. My excitement mounted even further when I saw the menu: freshly printed for that day, and only a few choices, signifying fresh ingredients and preparation. Though your experience may not be the same as mine, I can guarantee it will be memorable. Just take a look at the menu (see picture); even if you aren't well-versed in French, the attention to detail still comes through with the sheer amount of texture and flavor combinations, making for a modern dining experience that still upholds the virtues of French cuisine. Here's what I ordered: Consomme Soup with Carmelized onion (5/5): The onion came still in shape, but with a thin layer of melted cheese under each leaf! There were also chunks of crisped cheese that punched your face with flavor. Beef Braised in Red Wine (5/5): Some of the tenderest, juiciest, most flavorful beef I've ever had, along with some chopped carrots that were so good, they'd make eating your daily vegetables a joy rather than a chore. Pink Trout (5/5): Topped with quinoa and served in a light broth lightly flavored with citrus and mint. One of the most interesting flavor combinations in recent memory. -Dessert- Blances Montes, Vanilla Parfait, and Citron-tinged Caramel Cream (HOLY CRAP/5): What appeared like a few colored splodges on the plate ended up being one of the most interesting desserts I've ever had. Each of the three creamy varieties had vastly different flavors and textures, but all would disintegrate seconds after being placed on the tongue, imprinting its aroma and taste. Though I can't guarantee all or any of these dishes will be on the menu when you go, each one proved to me that anything coming out of this kitchen is superb. Far from the most expensive meal I had in France but the best by a large margin makes Le Richer an easy 5 stars. Apologies for the lighting of my pictures. Everything is better than it looks!

Our first attempt to eat here was met with a bit of resistance, considering that we were trying to catch a show and there was a bit of a rush to get seated. That was fine and the host more than polite. We opted against eating here, but upon the day we were supposed to leave Paris it popped into my mind again so we decided to try again. My SO and I walked in around 14:00 on a Tuesday to a reasonably busy restaurant. The hostesses recommended the chestnut soup, steak tartare, and scorpion fish. We ordered them all, of course. The soup was served lukewarm-to-cold with a few drops of smoked egg yolks; it was rich yet delicate in a way that wasn't overwhelming to the palate. I really like this dish as it sort of encapsulated, what perceive to be, the philosophy of fine french dining: complexity, subtlety, and just plain deliciousness. Next we moved to the steak tartare, served more like a carpaccio, with a sage drizzle around the edges and shaved ginger on the side (to cleanse the palette) which really lived up the flavors. The highlight of the meal, for me at least, was the scorpion fish which was served skin on, with sides of baked sushi rice and chinese cabbage (bak choy), and plated in a wonderful creme sauce that gave the dish a wonderful tangyness that had me coming back for more. Of course, the side of bread was there as well. There wasn't a dirty plate anywhere to be found. Looking out into the bustling streets with classical french music playing softly in the background was a beautifully melanochic way to end an excellent stay. If only I had run across more places like this while there, I might just have known Paris a bit better. There's always next time.

The dessert was extraordinary. They have English menu so remember to ask for it. The food we had was the steak and the veal. The steak was great but the dessert was the show stopper! We ordered the milk rice and might come back again just for the dessert! Yum yum!

The food here was absolutely incredible. Definitely a "locals" spot. Menu here is locally sourced, changes based upon what is available-- which means that food is always fresh and amazing. Preparation is creative and presentation is impeccable-- and prices are really reasonable considering the food quality.

Perhaps the bar used to share the kitchen with the restaurant upstairs, but this did not appear to be the case during our visit in September 2016. My husband, sister and I visited Verjus with the hopes of enjoying a bottle or two of wine as well as some heavy tapas. When I mentioned seeing the tapas menu the bartender got confused and said they only offer a small selection of cheese and charcuterie at the bar, but nothing cooked. We attempted to make a reservation at the restaurant upstairs, but unfortunately they were booked solid. We each ordered a glass of wine and split several plates of prosciutto and cheese at the bar. Everything was nice, but we were looking for dinner and the bar was a bit warmer than I would have preferred so after we finished our wine and cheese we ventured off elsewhere. This tiny wine bar is very charming spot to grab a glass of wine, but don't expect to find any tapas here.

Call in advance to make dinner reservations because we did not and the only opening was at 9:45pm. So we opted for the wine bar downstairs, which serves tapas. At first I was a little bummed about not being able to dine at the restaurant upstairs, but the wine bar was FANTASTIC! Here's what we ordered, with the best being at the top of the list. 1. The GNOCCHI was to die for...the pieces were small and ever-so-slightly crispy on the outside. 2. The SPICY FRIED CHICKEN (yes, we order manfood staples when my bf is with me) was so juicy on the inside yet crispy on the outside. The chicken was bursting with flavor. 3. The FLANK STEAK with CHIMICHURRI sauce was surprisingly tender and flavorful. 4. We also had the CELERY ROOT GYOZA. This was hands down the best food that we had in Paris. I can only imagine what the upstairs restaurant serves! The bartender was super cool and was helpful in recommending wine pairings with our food. She poured samples to make sure that we were happy with our wine selections. She also speaks perfectly good English if you're wondering! Thank you yelp for helping us pick out a fantastic restaurant to end our week in Paris. Merci beaucoup!

The bar staff was extremely friendly and educated us on the history of the bar. Both bartenders spoke english and were from United States. It was explained to us that Lulu White was a brothel madam, that was concidered to have more power than the mayor of New Orleans during the late 1800s. Her brothel contained a "Blue Book" that allowed patrons to chose their companion via photos. The Lulu White bar, took this concept and allows you to chose your drink according to the individuals photographed in the "Blue book". We were told the individuals listed in the book change about every 6 months but the Lulu White drinks remains constant. I tried the Lulu White: Altos Anejo Tequila, Plymouth Gin, Genepi, Absentroux, and Cardamon noir.
