My family and I were warmly greeted into Brasserie Bois Blanc by Martin, one of the owners and brewmasters- I knew things were starting off well from the get-go. After explaining the tasting flights to us and welcoming us, Martin met with another patron and sat down at one of the tasting room tables with a "Magic: The Gathering" deck and began to hang out in his own brewery. So rad. I had the IPA flight and was particularly enchanted with the common ale. The rest of my family was really into the imperial stout (tastes like a 9% cold brew!). A lot of the other patrons (mostly fellas of a wide range of ages) were also playing games at their tables, while of course enjoying pints of microbrew. It all makes me wish I lived closer- I wanna hang out here!

There are 2 sides of the restaurant: the more casual order what you want brasserie side and then the fancier multi-course chef menu side. I chose the brasserie side, where I had a reservation for a bar seat - turns out that wasn't really that necessary as there were several individual bar seats open; A group would probably have a difficult time getting a seat on a Friday evening though. For drinks, I had a paper plane and a last word. Those are my two go to cocktails for nicer bars, and they pulled them off fantastically (they also knew what I was talking about which is kind of rare for the last word). For an extra nice touch, they clipped an actual paper plane to the paper plane drink. Fun! For food, I ordered the Duck Confit. It was super crispy on the outside, but the meat was super tender and juicy and melted off of the bone. My mouth is watering while thinking about it. It also came with bread service. For dessert I had the tiramisu. I would give it a 4/5 - it was a little more bland than others I've had - not bad at all, but not my favorite one of all time. They seem to be serious about their coffee (see pictures). Since I was sitting right in front of it I had to order one to go with the tiramisu. I had a basic americano, and it was a great addition. We started with oysters from PEI and New Brunswick. Loved that they let you choose the units so we only ordered 4 (2 each). We also had as appetizer their foie gras parfait and tomatoes from our garden. Both we wonderful choices. The tomatoes were perfect for the season with a beautiful balance of tomatoes, stracciatella and focaccia. Foie is a classic and loved the grilled bread and pickled vegetables to accompany it. Our entrees were the lamb rump, braised shoulder and butcher cut steak and frites which was the hangar steak. The lamb was delicious and very hearty in a good way. The steak was perfectly prepared and the frites stayed warm the entire meal with their presentation. We ended with their house fav passion fruit pavlova. Light and airy texture with lovely flavor. Nice way to compete the meal!

Ris de veau is 3 piece of fried calf. If you want to share your app I would go with the Chevre chaud. I thought the portion for Ris de veau was a little small. Right about now I noticed that everyone around us was getting some warm bread with butter. I looked at the menu to try and see if that was something we needed to order as an app. I did not see it on the menu so I assume it's just given as your app while you wait for your dinner. I got the beef tartar as my main dish. You have the option of picking between a garden salad or fries to go with it. I went with the fries. They are served with some mayo, just like I like it. The beef chart was delicious. Portion are good. This might also be an option if you want to share an app. It comes in two sizes, I got the bigger one. For dessert, I picked a crème brûlée with a cheese platter . Crème brûlée comes with a lovely crust , which I honestly enjoyed quite a lot. It is a very thin layer of crème brûlée with a thicker than usual sugar crust. The cheese platter came with three very small piece some bread and a jam. I would believe to be blueberries. I was disappointed by the cheese platter not because the cheese were bad ones but just because it was a three bite done deal. I would've liked a bigger portion to share. Overall, very positive experience.

There are no pool tables just slot machines and a TON of huge TVs EVERYWHERE making it a decent sports bar. Price: 6/5, cheapest beer I've seen in any bar in the West Island as a non-special event thing: 20.88$/4L pitcher after 9pm on weekends every week. Service: 6/5, I love the crew there. They're nice, polite but homey and friendly. The Bartender Alex is my new Bff. Set-up: 3/5 Pretty crappy to be honest. Still looks like a bingo bar and no pool tables. Only 1 bar available but the place is relatively small. Gave it extra points for the back parking. Food: 3.5/5, decent for the price. Nothing to die for but it's good food. The staff makes up for anything though. The manager is ultra-super-friendly, the bartender and waitresses are GENUINELY friendly, none of that "Fake Smile for a tip" stuff. Free WiFi (just ask for the password, it doesn't change), you can bring food from Dominos/Couche-tard/Tim Horton's. Be sure to ask the manager first if you're going to bring in Pizza since they do their own pizza). I don't think he'll truly mind due to his friendliness but I'd consider it proper conduct. Saturday evenings can get a little full so be careful about your timing. Otherwise it's pretty nice and calm.
