Hotel was a nice mix of oldworld french wine country decor (grand dining room, chateau layout) with modern rooms and beautiful views -- you can purchase wine produced from the vineyards on the property. The rooms themselves are modern and comfortable, with nice bathrooms and nice bed. The restaurant is really great for both breakfast and lunch / dinner. The food is really fresh -- lots of produce grown onsite. If eating dinner and the weather is nice, try to eat outside on the terrace and catch a sunset. Also they have bikes for your use! Definitely borrow one and bike out through the veloroute to some of the neighboring towns. This is a must-do in Meursault. The hospitality of the staff was outstanding. Really lovely people who took such good care of us. We had a couple of silly mishaps (bike accidents, taxis not showing up when they were supposed to) and the staff went above and beyond. When I fell off my bike, the hotel picked me up off the veloroute and brought me back to the hotel. When our taxi did not show up to take us to the Beaune train station early in the morning, the hotel owner drove us to the train station in his car!

For example our fish of the day looked and tasted like scraps of fish left from the prior week's specials while quite a few tables around us were enjoying a perfectly done white fillets- of course all of them were local guests of the restaurant. So, if you dont want to feel that someone is taking advantage of you or mocking you for not speaking the language please avoid this restaurant. That said i do admit we dont speak French for which my sincerest apology- frankly it is quite hard but of course not entirely impossible to speak every language of every country one travels to. That, however, is no excuse for abuse.

The waiter was nice, he spoke English and was helpful with translating the menu. But it did take us a long time to get our beverages, and we initially planned to order a second bottle of wine but because he never came back we decided against it and saved ourselves some money.
