We live in an area of the US when the Hispanic (mostly Mexican ethnicity) is substantial; we are frequent clientele at a variety of Mexican restaurants in our region and consider ourselves knowledgeable consumers. The food we had at this restaurant, in Paris, was some of the most flavorful and satisfying Mexican food we have ever had...just fantastic. One dish, a beef enchilada platter, was served on a hot fajita plate, which cause some of the various ingredients to acquire a slight carmelized flavor to the outstanding sauce - very yummy. And the serving of chili con carne on the side was delicious, too. The other dish, a red sauce stew of chicken, pork, vegetables and pineapple chunks, was reportedly a recipe from Oaxaca, served with a side or Spanish rice and fresh, home made tortillas. It, too, was just delicious and the fruit sweetening of the pineapple was a delightful flavor enhancement from dishes we are accustomed to. Finally, while wine was available on the menu, I preferred beer. Ordering a Modelo Negro is was told that it wasn't available; would I accept a Ocho Reales, a brand unfamiliar to me...turns out is was a artisanal variety from Monterrey and was just as delicious as the other foods. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a great meal with out of the ordinary flavor.
