Such a cute, cozy café. We came here for breakfast, and they offer a great variety of options…read more.. from baked goods and omelets to sandwiches. Their drink menu is extensive, ranging from freshly pressed juices and healthy lattes to alcoholic drinks and espresso-based beverages. The plates and napkins are so whimsical. Not everything they offer is listed on the menu, which also adds to the charm. You can order takeout or dine in. For dine-in, just grab a table and a server will come by to take your order. Ordered: Me: * Pink latte - It's actually pink and has a nice, subtle chocolate flavor. * Italian sandwich - Perfect comfort food, panini-style and delicious. * Mocha latte - The flavor was just right. AG: * Cappuccino * Tomato sandwich * Christmas latte Excellent service! Will definitely be back. They accept both cash and credit cards.

I was very impressed with the baguette. Crispy exterior with a tender interior. It nice flavor even without butter. It was missing the yeastyness of a traditional baguette but I was still thrilled with it. I also got an apple galette which I enjoyed the next day for breakfast. I bought a quick but ruined it while rebating so I can't report on that, but it did look and smell great. I will make an effort to come back here again next time I'm in France. The GF baked goods here are much better than those in the US.

As I was exploring some cities along the Rhein I found myself craving a really good cup of coffee at a really good coffee shop. I'm talking a third wave, artisanal, single-origin, bordering on pretentious, independent coffee shop. Yelp led me to Cafe Bretelles and I was not disappointed! Don't be turned off by what looks like a tiny coffee shop- there's a second level with more seating if the outdoor seats and first level are full. Just place your order at the counter and take a table number. We got an oat milk cappuccino (1 shot of espresso and steamed milk), an oat milk flat white (2 shots espresso and steamed milk), a hot chocolate, and a shot of espresso. The espresso-based drinks were just what I was after. They were rich, bold, and creamy. The hot chocolate was more like warm than hot, but packed on the flavor. Overall, this is a spot I'd frequent for if I was in Strasbourg more often. For now, it'll be a fond memory of a perfect cup of coffee in a sea of underwhelming hotel coffee.

Finally found it and was underwhelming. It was a micro place with seating for 6 people, one seat available and I sat there while my wife ordered. We were told we could not be served, we asked if we could wait inside and rudely told we have to wait outside in the cold. Don't come here there are plenty of bakeries that serve cappuccinos. I am writing his review while siting inside Secret De Table with plenty of seating where it is warm and drinking a great cappuccino.

Very eclectic, and for it worked. I was here at an odd time and the kitchen worked with me to have a couple of different tastes. One was a salad that had tastes I cannot describe. Since my French is very rusty and my Italian did no good I can only tell you that is was a feast for the eyes and had flavors mixed together that were unique. The base was an assortment of small tender leaves with shaved beets and feta. Yum! Then came the quiche, which was the best I have had. The crust was just delightful - it was delicate yet not intrusive to the dish itself. My fillings were pork belly and aubergine. This is truly a French place without feeling citified. Great service made this a very fun meal.

We navigated to Troc Cafe (yelped our way here) and though breakfast was finished, the quirky, warm ambience, and a pleasingly inexpensive and interesting lunch menu (written on a slate on the wall) greeted us and we decided immediately to stay. The ambience deserves a little call out - heterogenous chairs, plates and tables. Old movie posters, a retro weighing scale, spoons, pans, cane baskets etc. hanging from the ceiling. Now for the food: for starters we had salads - mine, lentils mixed with small bacon bits on a bed of pea leaves. My companion's was a cold ratatouille (crumbled) and feta, also on pea leaves. Both filling and different and for only €2.20 each! For mains we got a vegetarian quiche with goats cheese - the right size, perfectly balanced (not too 'eggy' as is sometimes the case), and a chicken leg with cous cous. The leg was roasted in a red pepper sauce, and the cous cous was delightfully spiced. We were spoken to in French (which we wanted to practice and were glad for it) and were not rushed at any point - service was really good with the two friendly-faced guys being attentive, neither overbearing nor negligent. I highly recommend visiting Troc Cafe!

We didn't have anything set that we really wanted to try and just went with their recommendations. ...and first things first--we enjoyed our brunch. It was delicious. The mix of sweet and savory; as well as the warm and cold side of the board was great balance. We really had a lovely time. Here comes the "But"... the only thing that bothered us a bit was the guy helping us (manager/owner?) was a bit defensive (almost argumentative) on his explanation between hot chocolate drink and hot cocoa. I'm pretty sure he's very knowledgeable and passionate about his line of work...but his attitude should be turned down a notch or two for the folks that may not know (like us) a lot about the subject.
