Both turned out absolutely delicious and instructions were very clear - I actually feel comfortable recreating these at home. Our instructor was Cat, who was extremely knowledgeable and kept the class going at a great pace. I also really liked her humor! I found her jokes super funny and she kept me engaged, never bored. We got to sample lots of the instructor's bread at the end of class and took home our own breads, which were HUGE. Plenty to share with family and I froze some too.

The problem was the instructor, Leah Starr, who was consistently rude and condescending. On our way home afterward, my daughter asked, "what was wrong with her?" No idea - no one in class acted out of turn or caused problems. It was very unprofessional. Unfortunately, when I followed up with the school to ask, they said you're not able to find out the instructor's name in advance, which is enough for us not to take a chance on going back.

Membership allows you to (better) seating in the lower section, closer to the speaker. Otherwise, it's first come first served seating. Lectures run about 1 and a half hours. My most recent visit was a first. A first, meaning a lecture as well as a piano recital. It was given by Jane Coop http://www.janecoop.com/biography/ The topic was Johannes Brahms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Brahms Discussions were on his life, compositions, techniques of composition including variation, phrasing and a third which I can't recall at the moment. His techniques were explained and demonstrated by Jane. What I didn't know and learned: He was a fan of Johannes Strauss Jr, and composed waltzes. At the end of the lecture, a performance. I've been at EvCC for at least a few years now and I don't recommend coming here. After my first…read morequarter, my advisor had me register for an advanced class, ended up getting dropped from it due to a prerequisite class I wasn't told about. In the summer of 2023, I had to drop my courses due to an family emergency and when I went back for the Fall, I had to go to the Cashier's office to see if I got a refund of my tuition. I had to wait TWO AND HALF HOURS just to be told it was transferred for my Fall tuition. This last spring, I thought it would be my final quarter with all of my credits, but I was dead wrong. My current advisor did not tell me I had to take ANOTHER COURSE just to graduate and straight up lied to me when we first talked six months before the spring quarter. Now I have to wait till the spring of 2026 just to graduate and have my associates. Also, the tuition and the parking permit prices are stupidly ridiculously expensive. $55 for a quarterly parking permit taking more than 9 credits? No thank you! I'm happy to get out of this college when I do!

A great place to complete your high school education, for free!…read more This school offers self-paced courses and on-line courses in addition to face-to-face, traditional classes. Most students are adults, but the school does accept teen-aged students as well. Some students come here to complete high school requirements for graduation. But, many students come here to upgrade their marks so that they can be more competitive when they apply for university and/or college. The teachers here are very friendly, and they take the time to get to know their students. Plus, the school is open day and night, so you can come when you have time. Being close to a sky-train station and bus routes is a big bonus. Recently, the government reinstated funding so many courses no longer require tuition. You will need to call the school to see which courses are available.
