We purchased a sofa that is 2 separate pieces. It took 7 weeks to be delivered. It arrived defective. The pieces are different shades of color, the left arm and back trim are crooked, there are 2 white spots on the right back cushion, the pieces don't line up, so there is a V shape in the back, it is missing the filling in the arm rest and back of the left side and on that side the reclining mechanism clunks. I requested someone come look at the defects. The manager, Tom McKenna, did not believe my assessment of the issues and sent me photos of furniture they have in the store. He tried to say this was normal. When I insisted someone come sooner than the 3 weeks they wanted to wait, Tom called me a bitch before hanging up the phone. An authorized repair person came after eleven days, took photos and agreed it is defective. I am still waiting on the report I requested from the service department. Today I was told that they will only replace it and I cannot return it. I don't want to wait for another and have it also be defective and I most certainly do not want to do business with a store where the manager uses profanity when talking to his customers. I just want to return the sofa and never do business with this company again. read more

Stay away - absolutely no refunds We ordered 2 leather chairs on a Saturday and were told it would take 6-8 months to get them. After we left the store my wife told me that the chair gave her a headache - she has had neck surgery and her neck is very sensitive to positioning. Also we got to thinking about the long lead time and decided that we wanted to cancel the order. After about an hour after we left the store we called and asked to cancel it. We were told that it could not be canceled as the PO was already placed. It was the weekend and the office personnel were not even in to do anything with the order. In addition the chairs were being made in Norway and it took 6-8 months. It's an insult to my intelligence to tell me the order could not be canceled. Their policy is that there are no refunds under any circumstance. I know it's in the contract but Florida law says that if a business has a no refunds policy it has to be clearly posted at the entrance or the cashier. There are no signs anywhere in the store that state that policy. The manager called the "Corporate office" and they reiterated the no refunds policy. If you are looking of good customer support, do not shop here. read more

OK...I love the furniture. The service sucks. I took off a day of work waiting for my sofa and chair to be delivered. The chair came...the sofa wasn't loaded on the truck. So they came the next morning with the sofa. The sofa had the wrong color legs. Still waiting for the replacement legs that were supposed to be expedited.... They have the business ethics of RATS. I changed my mind about a couch after a week and they wouldn't refund my $2,500.00 deposit or any part of it. Beware... they were nice when selling me something, but the manager actually Sneered at me when I asked to cancel the order - he told his salesman not to worry about it - the credit card company would pay them I called the manufacturer and they hadn't even received the order yet. Two and a half years ago we purchased a 4 seat recliner left side and memory foam bed. Service and delivery were fine and we were very satisfied with both items. Recently we had an issue with the bed which we brought to the attention of The folks at Leather Gallery. They spoke with the manufacturer and were able to obtain authorization to exchange the bed for a new one. They helped us look at replacements and determine the best choice which will be delivered in a couple of weeks. We purchased a Fjord chair from Leather Gallery 2 years ago, after giving up on the cheap inferior look-alikes. The salesperson was very helpful, and delivery excellent. A few days ago we noticed the screws in the armrest had worked themselves loose, and the arm became detached. Yesterday we called the store and Calvin, who seems to be a person of company importance, answered the phone, called back this morning at precisely 10 am, and drove to our house, where he proceeded to fix the screw situation for us. Don't EVER buy an extended warranty from this store! The warranty company (Montage Furniture Services) is extremely difficult to work with and you sit on hold for hours when you try to call and talk with someone. The worse part is the two companies (Montage and Leather Gallery) have extremely poor communications between them such that you have to constantly follow-up if you file a warranty claim. Each company blames the other company rather than just communicate effectively so the customer's needs are met in a timely manner. I've been waiting nearly 7 months to get a repair done on our sectional sofa, all because the two companies can't seem to work together. Tom the general manager is as helpful and professional as it gets. We literally went to 12 different furniture stores to find the perfect couch. It was important that it was a leather sectional with deep seating and so comfortable that you don't want to get up. Tom showed us the one that we fell in love with and bought. From there the follow up and updates right on up to the delivery were great. The best part was that our custom leather couch was delivered weeks ahead of the eta. Everyone seems nice when you first go into the store, and they're very nice as soon as you decide to purchase, and then their actual customer service comes into play. Examples: 1. They charged me the full price of a couch that wouldn't be delivered for Four Months. When I called after I received my cc bill to ask for credit, the salesman said he'd take care if it the following day. 2. The next day they asked me to come into the store to issue me a credit, because "they were charged more if it didn't go through a machine" 3. I went to the store to get the credit applied and the credit card machine was out of service! They wrote my number down on a scrap of paper (no talk of extra fees for them this time) and said they'd shred it after credit was applied. I asked if they'd try to expedite delivery and was told the order hadn't been confirmed 12 days After they charged me. I was Not Happy. 4. The salesman called me the next day to tell me a credit was applied - I've never received paperwork 5. I went into the store today (Sunday) to cancel the order that wasn't confirmed on Friday, and miraculously they say the order is now confirmed! And they want to charge me 50% of the full price to cancel!! What a Scam. Don't fall for it, I've reported the to my credit card company as deceptive, and scammers. read more

I was checking out their sofas and sectionals for over a year. Everyone was helpful. They never put any pressure on my to make the purchase. They were also very responsive to my requests for information, leather samples, etc. I finally bought a motorized sectional during a sale. I also purchased the extended warranty which I hope not to use, but better safe than sorry since the recliner function would be useless if one of the motors stopped working. I had one issue with an under-filled cushion (manufacturer defect) that they fixed. The technician that they use for repairs, who is very knowledgeable, only comes to Sarasota once a week, so it can take a month to schedule an appointment. My problem was not a rush, so it didn't matter. read more

Do not confuse it with the Florida leather Gallery because that store sells great merchandise with great customer service. These people are nothing but a bunch of bullies and crooks!! Lee told me and promised that the cushions would be replaced for the life of the recliners at no charge. That was the main reason I purchased the set because I have a bad back and I have had Cushions replaced on other sets in the past. After I called about A year and a half later, I was informed Lee no longer works there and Tom the general manager told me that Lee would have never said that and that I was full of shit. I also dealt with a woman by the name of Dorretta Who was so nasty and unprofessional I cannot even begin to explain. I had called numerous times and she would hang the phone up on me each and every time. These people, once they get your money and get you to sign the contract, they are nothing but bullies and crooks and do not care about the customer at all. Their customer service with the 800 number they give you, is even worse and that woman's name is Debbie, a complete ignorant nasty human being! Please do your due diligence and do not go to the store. The best way to recognize the difference is they go by their address which is 5251 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota Florida. While furniture shopping, we walked into Leather Gallery, and found a couch in our price range that the manager, Tom, highly recommended and was able to get us a deal on it to be shipped to the house. He seemed friendly and trustworthy, as he said all of the furniture was made in America and was very proud it didn't come from China, which he mentioned a good 15 times. We proceed to buy a nice leather couch, get it shipped to our house, and when it arrives, we don't love it. It was the right color, and right couch, but it just felt very different than the one we tried in the store and it didn't recline very well. We called Tom up and asked if we could return it since we weren't happy with it. Tom said there are no returns, there never was, and you can only exchange it. While on the phone with him, we found the law that states that the return policy must be posted visibly for the customer to be able to see, and if it is not posted, the manager/sales person must tell the customer the return policy. Unfortunately, the return policy is not posted anywhere in the store. We went as far as walking back into the Leather Gallery to find the policy. We asked Tom where it is and he said it's not posted anywhere, it never will be and we should have asked and it's not his fault we didn't. Now we have a couch we aren't 100% happy with, are outside of the exchange time period, and were duped by Tom, who we thought was nice but actually is just trying to get a sale like any other store. Avoids this business like the plaque. They did a crafty bait and switch on me leaving me with a $5000 bill and couches I do not want. After a long discussion with the salesman, we determined that they did not have what we were looking for. As we were leaving the store, the salesman claims he did in fact have what we were looking for. The product was custom ordered and was not what we had discussed for hours with the salesman. They claim we ordered this product and will not accept a return. The salesman claimed he could not remember any of our discussion about the need for a high back love seat recliner to support my head and neck having been in a high speed auto accident. I have a low back loveseat recliner with no head support at all in my home that is totally useless to me and quite expensive. What they did to us was very deceitful all to make a sale that was not going to happen. I think their ethics are lacking at this business. Buyer Beware!!! Go elsewhere. Buyers Beware! In November 2018, we placed our order for two Southern Motion leather recliners to be delivered to our house on or before Dec. 15, 2018. We paid up front for two Southern Motion recliners. We were assured that our warranties would NOT be billed until we had the leather recliners in our house. This is Dec. 23,2018 and we do not have our recliners. The store manager Tom, said the recliners were miss shipped, one recliner was in Morristown TN and the other recliner was in Hickory NC. We asked Tom to please give us a refund because these chairs floating around in delivery trucks, who knows where they are, were Christmas gifts! Oh, and they have billed our credit card for extended warranties $300 and we don't have the recliners! We have spent hours on the phone trying to resolve the delivery issue..These people were eager to take our money but they refuse to CREDIT OUR ACCOUNT! They do not delivery and do not want to give a refund. 11 Weeks into a deal with them, promises in writing to build the couches in our unit. 2 set delivered, two sets that cannot go in the door or stairs. Still no couches and still no refund. Told I should pick another set at price (even though the couch is the floor model) and they will give me $200 dollars as a favor. Had the gall to tell me, you cannot have a refund because you made an order. I am not sure how they feel they have a right to keep my money when they have tried to separate deliveries and still cannot get a couch into my apt. 11 weeks still not sitting a couch! Read all the google reviews, I am not the only customer with gripes like this. And before you say it, I asked them numerous times to come out and measure to make sure they could deliver.
