Oh my gosh, where to start? I lived here for about 2 years and it was miserable. If I had an option…read moreat the time to go somewhere else, I would have. You can hear EVERYTHING happening in your neighbor's apartments. I was subject to hearing a woman cry and beg her male companion to leave her alone weekly. I contacted property management, concerned, and was threatened that I, too, have noise complaints about my loft because of my service dog, (who is trained not to bark). When I asked for the time/date of these complaints, I received no response. I was made to feel as if any complaints on my behalf would result in action against me for my service dog. Any further communication with property management was met with return complaints about my dog peeing on the grass, where we walked her in the neighborhood, etc. At one point I was repeatedly approached by security every time I took my dog out to use the restroom, her asking me for "papers" to prove she is a service dog, asking me what services she provides, and for what disability, and if I have "any proof" on me that she's allowed to be in the apartment complex, (and yes, we had gone through all the appropriate channels). I was also required to register my dog's saliva for feces testing, which is not legal. The absolute attitude from management was despicable. At one point, after speaking with other residents with service animals, I requested a trash can be located near an entrance to the building to dispose of dog waste - and was told that having an employee "walk to empty the trashcan would be an undue burden." The heating and cooling costs a fortune because there is no insulation between floors. This matter is so bad, that if my upstairs neighbor spilled anything, even a bottle of juice, it would immediately leak through the ceiling, oftentimes onto our bed. It is so costly and hard to keep these apartments heated, that one time we turned on the hot water in the bathroom and the sink itself shattered. It took much back and forth with management to get them to fix it, over 4 months, and then they tried to charge us for it because "there's no way you didn't drop something heavy in it." The bugs are ridiculous - I would have swarms of ants and ticks coming up through the floorboards from the parking garage below every spring and was told "every apartment building has some ants." I genuinely feel bad for people renting in New Bedford, as this is one of the main companies that own the apartments here.

The quality of your experience will completely depend on who lives above or below you. I have been very lucky, until now. A few new tenants moved in around me and all smoke. My apartment smells like an ashtray, every day. Though management has repeatedly tried to find out who is violating the leasing agreement of a no tolerance smoking policy, they have failed. If you smoke, this is the building for you! Sadly, I do not.

Fast friendly response, beautiful spacious units I saw shortly after they first opened years ago…read morebut ended up moving in with my now, ex-boyfriend are waiting for my chihuahua & me! Good things come to those who wait, hoping to get on the waitlist soon I just need to inquire about possible assistance help for deposits, first/last. I heard it's available but unsure where to call yet but I'm looking forward to being a long long long time resident at Wamsutta Lofts. Lenox Green in Taunton is too far from home (Acushnet).

After living here for just over 3 years and being a good tenant, you would think that Acorn…read moremanagement would have more tact. Unfortunately, acorn can't even keep their own lies and switch tracking straight. Don't move here unless you want to be kicked out for wanting changes on your lease. My rent was supposed to be raised $60 and of course I respectfully asked if they would keep my rent the same. As expected, Acorn (the management company) said no. Next, I asked if they would allow me to have one of their storage units at no additional cost with the rent increase and I asked them to fix several major issues within the first 30 days or I would begin putting my rent into escrow. After a few days, The regional manager and one other rental agent refused to let me renew my lease because of that. Now, a month later, the new tenant in that unit is dealing with a flooded first floor apartment I used to live in. Why? Because the terrible maintenance staff didn't fix ANY of the issues I told them was wrong with the space. An hour after my incredibly one sided conversation with these two, where they did all the talking, they had the constable on their payroll deliver a termination of tenancy letter. Yet, the cop said it was an eviction notice. What the heck? You know why I was actually asked to leave? Because I somehow upset One of the staff members and instead of coming to me like an adult to talk to me, they had me kicked out to live on the streets. If I didn't have friends and family, I would be on the streets. Do not rent from here! It's not worth it! It's over priced and the staff doesn't do their job. Plus, the maintenance staff is constantly smoking in the common areas of the building, then the staff blames it on the tenants. The only people that actually do their jobs are the cleaning ladies. Among other issues, there's mold and mildew through the whole building, all the construction work by acorn is half assed and not up to code, countless tenants were promised a storage space included in their rent before they ever installed a storage area yet charge $60 a month, we were promised a pool that still doesn't exist and they are still promising a pool! Staff smokes in the building, all of the "new" dishwashers, fridges and microwaves they install are actually used (there has been food and dirty dishes in one dishwasher they gave me and they claimed they just bought it a few days prior). When I lived in one of the accessible units on the north side, it was 9 months before the leak in the bedroom was fixed. Then when I lived on the fifth floor and first floor, there was problem after problem. Plumbing, electrical, A/C, mold, mildew, everything! Plus, we had several drug addict neighbors that I had to call the cops on at least twice a week. Oh! And let's not forget that the accessible units aren't actually up to ADA regulations. Staff tried to argue that they are but both of my parents helped write the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. It was pounded into my head growing up. Especially with 2 parents with physical disabilities, so I'm confident in my knowledge on the laws. Oh and maintenance is ALWAYS smoking inside the building and then blaming tenants. Smoking is allowed in the apartments, just not in the common areas. If you want to live in a luxury apartment, this isn't is.
