If I could give it 0, I would. Kayte (director) and Jen (owner) lied to me about having a spot on…read morethe waitlist, reversing their statements once a spot was open. Instead, labeling my child as needing "intensive behavioral support" based on our tour, where he was well behaved and the staff never corrected or redirected him. They used this need to justify not allowing him to attend at that location, stating he needed to attend one of their other locations, which could over a smaller class size which could better support his behavior problem. Yet when I asked for their observations so that I could address it with my medical team, I was told nothing. What type of person would lie about a 2 year old? And if they weren't lying, then why not support a mother in getting a child proper care by supplying evidence to bring to the doctor? Clearly, it's not about the children, just the money. Such a shame.

We have two kids at AP2G and we couldn't say more about this nature based school!…read more First off they have done an amazing job handling COVID and dealing with state regs and everything having to do with keeping the kids safe. They take this very seriously and we are so thankful as we've been lucky to have them open and available during most of the pandemic! From the moment we first toured the school we knew Jen's attitude (and the schools mantra) about nature based learning were aligned with our goals of providing structure and learning together with the outdoors and exploring. Jen and her staff communicate well and really strive to get to know each family - they have become family to us! We recommend this school to all of our friends moving to the area!

I would like to preface my thoughts by saying the educators are wonderful with the children; very…read morethoughtful and caring. I cannot say the same about the administration. I would strongly advise against enrolling your children here. If there are no alternatives, please keep the following in mind: - Always have a back up plan for childcare as they will cancel classes for the smallest amount of snow (2") and very frequently for " teacher development." - You will pay gratuitously for tuition even for the numerous weeks and holidays they are on vacation or the days they are not rendering child care. - Be sure to communicate exclusively in writing as there is NO dialogue between the administration and the educators; they might as well be separate entities. - Carefully read their policies as they will use any means to justify pilfering your deposit if you deviate from their terms whatsoever, even if common sense would indicate otherwise. It bears saying twice: I strongly recommend against conducting business with this daycare. Consider alternatives.

The school is not even Montessori and they use the name without educators. They don't seem to keep a Director for more than a couple of months. The owner is a business person who has no real compassion for children.

We've been sending our son to PCA since elementary school. We knew we wanted a strong academic…read moreprogram and the full breadth of extracurricular activities (sports, theater, etc.). And we wanted both of those things laid on a Christian foundation that upheld basic tenets of character formation. It was a challenge for us financially and geographically, but after trying it out that first year, it became clear that PCA was able to deliver on what we wanted, and more. Our son thrived academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. They quickly advanced him in the academic areas in which he demonstrated giftedness so that he continued to be challenged. Regular conversations around the importance of persisting (in the face of boredom, subject matter that's challenging, lack of personal interest), developing healthy habits of mind, flexible thinking and more contribute to a child's growth beyond the textbooks. Now in Junior High, we're seeing our son being given opportunities to lead and to serve. We appreciate being treated as partners with the teachers and administration in our son's education. The teachers, principal and head of school all make themselves available for conversations. And I love that the teachers reach out with recognition of "good stuff" our son is doing before contacting us about infractions. We love the setting of the school...open green space, beautiful river, small classroom sizes. Yes, we make sacrifices to send our son to PCA, but seeing first-hand the "product" they turn out makes it all worth it. We would do it again in a heartbeat.
