Had my son in this pre-school for a couple months. Was a horrible experience. TLDR they kept trying…read moreto prove my son was horrible and had problems. Pulled him out put him another pre-school where he's done great. Day 1 they told my wife we should test him for ADHD. I was like it's his first day ever of school how do they know? But we asked our pediatrician anyway. He said he is high energy and they can't test a kid until they are older. He told us though he would surprised if he had any issues talking to him during the checkup. Said he was just a regular boy with high energy. We communicated this back to the school. They kept trying to force us to do 2 days a week had us come in to see how much "trouble" my son was. So I took work off and my wife and I went in with me. We stayed the entire class. Was my son perfect. No he was barely 4. He also was testing some boundaries. They asked him to do things he didn't always do it if he didn't want to. Afterwards discussing this I said I thought there were some moments and explained what works for us at home, but he seemed fine. They said that day he was really great and usually it was worse than that day and still pushed for 2 days a week as it was smaller class and he could get more focus. I said we were fine and we would keep working on it. Finally they called my wife to get him as he was "danger to the class". They had her come pick him up in the middle of the day said they had him on video biting a kid if she wanted to see. She said yes. They showed her the video. She saw him and another kid playing a little rough and they fell over she then saw he did put his mouth on the kids arm. My son at the time when he hurt his older sister would kiss her on the arm. I don't know but he did it lot. My wife explained this they said. Know the kid was bit. She asked if she could see the kids are if there was a mark. They said no and there would be no mark as the kid was wearing a jacket. My wife says the video that kid had no jacket on. They were like still he bit him and there's no mark take him home. My wife asked if they could apologize to the kid first. She had my son apologize and she saw no mark. Now my kid was barley 4 could he have bit this kid. Yes of course. Was he really a danger and needed to be sent home? No! Maybe if there was He cried most the rest the day and kept saying he was terrible (never said this before). He kept this up every time he would get in trouble for months it was the saddest thing. I asked him to show me on my arm what he did when I got home from work. He kissed my arm. Again I am not saying he couldn't have but what bullcrap to treat a kid like this. I immediately pulled him out. Took a couple months to get him find another school we liked what they said and they had opening. We did get him in somewhere else and we explained the whole thing to them. They said they were sure they could handle him and would keep an eye on things. After a couple months the staff there said he has the best social skills in the class. He is doing great. Is he hyper and pushes boundaries yes. And they work on it with him. Has he been violent. They said he and some other boys sometime do push but usually he doesn't push back unless they really keep bothering him. The format of curriculum at his new school is better for him. But they said he is doing well and excelling. The difference in how they reacted to him and the feedback was night and day. I would not recommend Leap Ahead pre-school to anyone avoid like the plague go somewhere else even if it costs more. Stay away!!!!

GradePower Learning has changed our daughter's life for the better! 3 years ago she was struggling…read morethrough second grade, behind in reading, and rapidly losing confidence. The advice we received from teachers at school to read more at home didn't seem to be helping, and my husband and I though often about holding her back a year to "catch up". After her initial assessment, we felt, for the first time, that our daughter had actually been seen. They were able to identify the very specific areas she was struggling, so we quickly had a plan to help her develop the skills she needed to bring her up to grade level. It was comforting to know we were investing our time helping her in the areas she needed it most. 3 years later, our girl is thriving in school. It's so much fun to see things click for her as she accesses the tools she's acquired at GradePower. She now loves to read and will even read out loud in church or class, and feels confident amongst her peers. GradePower has a system that works, and our time there would have been worth it for the academics alone. What I didn't expect was the amazing relationships we would also develop. I will admit that during our search, we actually drove by Cloverdale Montessori the day before our appointment with them, and at first glance thought, "No, this one won't work because it's just a residential house. Seems weird." But we took our daughter to the appointment anyway and I am so happy we did. We were greeted by Miss Rose Marie (Sorry if that's spelled wrong), and for the first time in the many tours or school visits, our daughter was IMMEDIATELY engaged and focused. I was in awe. Their style of teaching had my daughter wanting to learn, understanding what she was learning, and understanding the importance of manners and proper etiquette. After being there for an hour and seeing what my daughter had learned in that short time, I was sold. That was in 2023 when my daughter began her education journey with Cloverdale Montessori and just finished their kindergarten and fun summer program three years later. I really can't say enough about this school. The owners Tim and Marie, their lead administrator/teacher Miss Carrie, and all the wonderful teachers there are some of the most caring and dedicated people you will ever meet. Their teaching style goes well beyond standard education...obviously and probably most importantly, my daughter learned SO much when it comes to reading, writing, math, science, and all the core education items that children need to excel in life, but I feel like my daughter became a better and kinder human from being around these teachers. They don't get political, they show no bias, they just teach human kindness. Oh, and I should add that once you get into the "residential house" that I initially thought wouldn't work, you find several different cozy learning areas and a huge, amazing backyard with all kinds of play equipment and fun activities. I'm sad that she has now "aged out" of Cloverdale, but am so grateful for the three years she had there. She learned so much, made so many friends, and made so many memories. You cannot get that anywhere else. My 5yo daughter says it is a "loving and kind" environment and that is why she loves it. She knows that they care about her, they are invested in her development and that they instill a respectful culture. It is truly special. The education she has gotten there is so well rounded, I cannot say enough. They implement the Montessori methodology and have gone above and beyond to implement as many learning opportunities as possible. My daughter has grown in math and reading as well as the day to day basics that children need to grow in this world. Just this week they have been growing their own spices, learning about them, grinding them and bringing them home for use. She loves it. Ms Rosemarie has been teaching her Spanish, which she loves, and Ms Carrie has been taking them on educational field trips to grow her education in the community. She looks forward to seeing Ms Jan every day, and wanted to tell her about her loose tooth. She loves Ms Amy and the activities she has put together for the outside play. I just can't say enough good things. We love all of the teachers there. If you want your child to thrive, bring them here!
