What a hike it was to get here, but it was totally worth it!! Even the drive was a little scary, haha. Leech Woods is easy to pass by if you aren't paying attention, especially at night. But I was quite intrigued when I arrived! They have a haunted hayride, 30 minute woods trail, axe throwing, food, bar, a fire performer, creepy characters running around... it's a really cool place to just hang out at. You don't have to plan to do the trail or hayride if you don't want to. For places like this, I don't expect much outside of the main attraction. I believe they're done for the year now, but while Halloween is the most active and fun time to go, it's super busy, and you'll have to pace yourself with any groups ahead of you on the trail. Mind you, there wasn't a wait... but I feel like I would've been a lot more scared if I didn't have some of it spoiled by people in front of me. Now, dont get me a wrong, this was a drive away from DC, but it was well worth it. It now rivals my love for Markoffs Haunted Trail. The set up was very well done and there was a moment with eyes wide open, I couldnt tell what the heck was going on and we had to run lol The food was also pretty darn appetizing. Loved all the firepit/bonfires they had for people. Didnt do any of the other attractions except the trail so cant speak to those. I would love to be able to buy that apple cider spiked already though. There is a bar on premises, very small selection though. Id recommend with high regards. read more

What an incredible experience. The quality was impressive and that price is hard to beat. I honestly was blown away by how good it was and am so glad I went! What I loved was the hidden surprises. I discovered how to get a free soda (limited availability). My friend discovered how to get free axe throwing. And we had an opportunity to get a free shirt but failed. From reading other reviews it sounds like there are at least a couple more easter eggs (wrong holiday, but you know what I mean) available. The characters at this haunt are also amazing! The ones interacting with the crowd were very entertaining and good at what they do. And Bones! Bones was the best! He's a talking skeleton at the beginning of the line and I truly applaud his quick wit. The actual haunting experience is a 30 minute trail through various sets. They were well decorated and the actors were very well placed. I had many laughing fits as I was scared and startled regularly! I think the harmonica guy was my favourite. Outside of the haunt they have axe throwing, food and drinks, face painting, a merchandise stall, various photo ops, and fire pits. You can buy s'mores kits for the fire pits though they looked rather small. That said, I think the price was pretty low so probably worth the experience, especially if you have kids. Definitely money well spent and I'll be telling all my friends about Leech Woods. They've earned my praise! read more

Came here with a friend and two 13 year olds.it was perfect for all of us! it's about a 30 minute walk through the woods with different scenes that you are routed through. each scene is creative and decorated according to a different theme. Lots of jump scares but there's a no touching rule. It's very atmospheric and you have time to recover between each scene. There's also a common area to hang out in before or after with a bonfire and selfie stations, food and drinks (adult and other). Festive and fun atmosphere. Good for 12 and up or younger kids that can handle genuine scares. it gets very dark on the trail and you must walk through narrow areas, go over roots and over bridges, so not for those who have problems walking or seeing in the dark. read more

OMG....this is the absolute best haunted trail ever! If you missed going this year, you better not miss it next year. Besides the long, wooded trail through amazing & scary scenes with incredible performers...you will laugh & scream every step of the way. I would love to tell you more, but I don't want to ruin the surprises! And this isn't your typical stand in line, walk through a trail, and go home...nope! There are fire pits to sit by and s'mores to be eaten. Also there were fire dancers and a DJ giving away merchandise if you danced the best wobble or Cupid shuffle. And did I mention the food at "bloody guts" their food house was delicious? The bacon & cheese covered French fries with my burger with garlic aioli were excellent. read more

KING BONES ROCKS!! Had so much fun waiting in line to go through the main trail! King Bones is there to help pass the time by picking on you & it's fun to watch him go back & fourth with the line usher! Was there last year & he didn't disappoint this year! I would have to say he got a lot taller this year with less hair but just as fun! So you're in the front of the line laughing with King Bones then it turns grim instantly when it's your turn to go into the haunted trail! You go from laughing to screaming within 1 minute! Absolutely loved it! It was longer with more terrifying scares this year!! See you next year Leechewoods!! read more

We bought a groupon and went on one of the first nights. I didn't expect much since they were brand new but we all had a great time. The trail is fun, it took us about 25 minutes to complete. Good for kids 12 and up. There was an eight year old in front of us and he left crying. read more

Loved this ! It is more than just a haunted trail- the structures , lighting , actors , and decor throughout the woods was stunning! HIGHLY recommend abs is really a bargain for all they have there. Fire pits, ax throwing , lots of food choices abs warm beverages ... really really great! read more

I never write reviews but this place was so amazing I just had to. Leech woods is an experience everyone should have at least once in their life. This place is absolutely amazing, from fire performers, fortune tellers and sfx artists, this place has everything and on top of that there's an amazing haunted trail to go with it. My favorite part in the trail is where this little girl cry's on top of a coffin and you can't see her face but when you get closer to her she jumps and screams at you, it's even cooler because her makeup was excellently done along with a huge realistic gash on her neck. I was talking to her at the end of the night and she claims that she's only been doing it for a short time but she seems so experienced I would've guessed she has been doing it for her whole life. Thank you Caroline for literally scaring the crap out of me and thank you Leech Woods for reminding me why I love Halloween so much. read more
