Hands down my favorite feed store. It's a bit of a drive for me, but well worth it. Not only is this a one stop shop for me, being that they carry all types of forage hay but the assortment and quality is top notch! For those that are feeding their horses a mix of Orchard and Alfalfa, I highly recommend the local orchard, it has a hefty yield of alfalfa mixed in for a great price point! They frequently have "sale alfalfa" super cheap too, so thats the time to stock up! As far as grains and livestock supplies, they are competitive in pricing and I have never had an issue with them being out of stock of any of the specialty grains I use (Triple Crown Low Starch, Ultium Competition, Amplify, etc) They also have a full interior retail area with clothing, tack, and all the goodies. Keep blinders on if you want to walk out without maxing out your credit card. All in all, best of the best. read more

We are very frequent loyal customers of the Shingle Springs Lee's Feed, but have driven to Lockeford on several occasions for the horse tack. In the last 6 months, we've been to this store multiple times and have received sub-par customer service. On one occasion I called ahead to have them put something on hold for me, drove the hour directly to pick it up to find out no one put anything on hold and was told what we have is on the shelf. No one remembered talking to me and no one was helpful trying to locate the missing item. On every occasion, the staff seems disinterested in helping. Not friendly when being asked questions or while Being rung up, almost like we are an inconvenience. We most recently picked out a set of reins missing the buckle on the side. We brought the same set of reins up (different color) and asked if we could just swap out the buckle or if they sold the buckles separately and were told no, we could not replace what was obviously missing and they weren't sure if they had them but what's out there is all they have as far as buckles with no help locating any hardware. We rummaged around ourselves and found a pile of other hardware and underneath found the missing piece and just bought it separately. We received such great customer service at Shingle Springs, maybe we've just gotten spoiled. It will be a long while before we make the drive out to Lockeford Lee's. read more

I bought victor all pro dog food it said 51.99 I was charged 84.99 inquired they said because it was a 40 pd bag for the 40 50 pds was 30 + more for 10 dollars I should have gotten 2 40 pd bags then or happy. read more

I used to love this store but the past 4 times I've gone there has been a major miscommunication between the cashiers and the workers in the back. They have charged me for items that they did not have in stock or they have loaded the incorrect items. I have also been shorted items and had to make a trip back to the store to get what I already paid for using my gas and time. This is absolutely unacceptable and very disappointing. I drive nearly an hour to get to this store and needless to say I'll not be shopping here moving forward. Negative stars if I could read more

Very rude/poor customer service. While waiting in line to pay, the young gal at the register was insisting on requiring the older gentleman in front of us that he provide his phone number in order to use his debit card. Really? We have never heard of that and pretty sure it is against bank policy and possibly illegal. Must be some scam to text people about sales or something. We were going to use a debit card as well and do not give out phone numbers, so we put our items back and left. read more

Can't even believe the HORRENDOUS conditions of the chicks/turkeys/ducks, etc. Completely empty waters, DEAD chicks getting pecked at, humongous pasty butt (biggest I've ever seen and we have raised/bred chickens for years!!). They were way overpacked. Made me so sad to leave them. When I told one of the workers, he said "oh, ok," like it was no big deal and never returned to care for the issues. I'm DISGUSTED. I hope everyone goes down there and takes all of the babies before they all die. Lee's Feed should be BANNED from carrying the birds at all if they continue to keep them in these conditions. read more

Two problems I've encountered with this place: One, we bought hay from this place that sets moldy quick. Never had a problem like this with other feed stores I've bought from. Never again from this place. Bad quality. Two, theirs hours are not honored. Online states they open on Sunday's at 8:30. Their voicemail says 8:00am. Never opened on time. You're a business. Lee's ranch department delivered a large truck of hay and shavings to my home today, and I was pleasantly pleased with the two person crew. The young men were fast, professional and extremely courteous. The best part of this delivery experience was that they cleaned up the barn before leaving. Thank you! read more

I liked this store, but no more. I had several minor problems with the loaders. The last problem and the unwillingness to make amends leaves me not wanting to go back. I purchased three bags of one brand stove pellets and two of another brand. The two bags they loaded was animal pellets and a different brand anyway. Since I drive over 20 miles to shop there I felt they owed me something other than a lame sorry. The mistake should never have happened. But the response to the error is the bigger issue. I called ahead to get propane filled and was told they could do it. Showed up 15 min.'s later and was told they were not doing propane fills because the store was experiencing more sales and they were short staffed. I explained that I had just called and they said they still could not fill my tank. I can understand if I had just walked in and was told no. But, if a customer calls ahead they are also a sale. I am very disappointed because I shop there a lot for hay and grain. read more

Bought 2 bags of goat feed, (different brands) Emptied bot bags into feed barrels. Bottom half of both bags moldy. They were nice, said bring them back and they will replace. Problem is scooping feed back into bags and dricing down hill. Too much trouble. And how do I know new bags aren't moldy? I'll shop elsewhere from now on. read more

Worst customer service. Walk into the store no one greets you. They look right up when you walk in and look away. What happened to people saying hello at least. I go get my items. There is only one girl working the counter with another customer for about 5 min while another worker stands behind a computer right next to me and doesn't say anything to me. I understand if you're that busy with your typing and texting on your phone to help ring me up. But the least you can do is say she will be right with you. Nope not a word. Not sure what's going on with this store. This week was the 4th time when ordering large shavings orders for delivery I was sold inventory that when it came time to deliver they no longer had what I purchased in stock. Very frustrating especially when I was not contacted until day of delivery. There is a cost difference and was not give the credit until I asked for the difference in price. I regularly order Safe Choice but for the last year it is never in stock. These are not small orders and have been making them on a monthly basis for the last 2 years. Good customers service, correct inventory and professionalism are seriously lacking. I will be shopping elsewhere. read more

Called to ask about 6'x12' panels and was quoted $118 and told they had 43 in stock. Showed up an hour later to find only 5'x12' panels. Opted to buy 15 of the 5' panels and a gate, but I had to walk outside 3 times to get the staff pictures of their merchandise instead of waiting for them find their own products in a binder (as they clearly weren't interested in walking outside themselves. Started loading them myself and finished loading by myself because nobody showed up to help. This is probably one of the worst customer service experiences I've had, my family will not spend any more money here. If there were any other options I would not have spent over $2000 dollars here. read more

I drive about 60 miles to get hay just from this Feed store! My horse is extremely picky. She LOVES the orchard grass alfalfa they carry. So I make the long haul out here just to pick it up for her. I've tried many other feed stores but this is the hay she likes! Prices are fair all around. I purchased a full body slinkie and it was $30 cheaper here than my local tack store. Will be a repeat customer , they also offer a rewards program! read more

Passing by returning from kayak outing and saw lots of people around. Stopped by and discovered they were having a Stick Horse rodeo for the kids. Yep exactly as it sounded, stick horse rodeo. Had several youth organizations with free hotdogs, drinks, snow cones (donations appreciated) and more. I appreciate they seem to be so community minded. We picked up some chow for the parrots, sadly didn't see anything for ferrets, maybe it was behind the counter since ferrets are still illegal here LQTM. Weasel gives them two big paws up anyway for their community and kids spirit! read more

All non-white folks beware! I am white and have never had a problem at this store. My wife is Asian and went there to buy bales of Orchard Grass today. All white ladies at the counter and none offered to help. She really had to speak up to get help. When the cashier finally responded she acted very annoyed and was rude. Also claimed she had no idea what my wife was asking for. My wife had to call me, put me on speaker and only then would the cashier take my wife's order. Unbelievable! BTW, my wife speaks very good English. This in not a ESL issue. Also, no public health safety awareness. None of the 3 cashiers at the counter wearing masks. This business unfortunately is very prejudice (at least the cashiers are). read more

this feed store has supplies and information for the new farm animal owner....also has dog/cat/rabbit supplies. I was trying to place kittens last week, and one got loose...staff took my numbers, and diligently set a trap for the little guy.....he was back in the cage one week later.....Marcus, Jodie, and everyone are very helpful, and dedicated to having healthy animals. Great store with lots of horse supplies. The employees are very attentive and your heavier products are loaded "via" drive thru warehouse. Prices for staple items ( I.e. wood pellets) are very competitively priced. A must see for the equine lover. Lots of variety of hay. read more

I've been shopping at Lee's in Lockeford for 20+ years so I've seen the changes over time. Over the last couple of months I've seen how the store is just slipping for the worse. The grounds are so dirty I hate to even drive my truck in fear of getting something in my tires, the landscape is so dry and overgrown for starters. Then you get inside and the store looks clean but All of the new girls are just clueless and rude. The older manager is just as clueless and either can't see or just doesn't care and must hire because their friends or family and in my opinion just not manager material. Then you drive around the back to the real shit show the barn is just dirty, unorganized and very little effort by any of the guys to help you load. I talked to a lady one day and she said it took 45 mins to get her shavings. This store use to always have good products and service and that's seems to be a thing of the past. On a good note there's still 2 girls from the past working inside and I'm very thankful for them but going to be shopping at Robinson and Nicks for hay. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE PRACTICES. Bought a gift card for someone for Christmas and I lost the card on accident. In the spirit of Christmas and good customer services practices I was hoping I could call and have them cancel the certificate/card # it was issued on a reissue me a new card/certificate with new #. I have receipt that I bought it and they should have something in their system to track it. I called today and they told me...NOPE SORRY YOU LOST IT YOUR OUT THAT AMOUNT AND WE CANT ISSUE A NEW CARD. So they basically took my money for no services rendered or product sold. We use them a lot. I am so disappointed and disheartened I will now use a new feed store. read more

I like this place, but sometimes the young people at the front counter completely ignore you. On my recent visit, I finally asked if I should come back later, because the girls behind the counter were all taking among themselves about personal stuff, and there were several customers waiting...someone needs some customer service training. read more

Great store for pet supplies, food and certain jeans but as far as the customer service goes.. notar all where it should be. I have had multiple instances where the young staff gave me a ride or uninterested look. You can tell their interests weren't sincere. I recommend highly for large and small animal needs though. read more
