The Lees have exquisitely re-upholstered many of our pieces. They are a family business with decades of experience... and it shows! Each piece has been done with precision and as requested. Their quality speaks for itself! As an aside (and definitely NOT a complaint!!) be sure to specify the "cushiness" you want in the cushions. My mom at 93 yo was having trouble getting up from the couch with soft cushions and low. I took the cushions to Lee's Upholstery and was able to have them changed from a soft squished down 6" to a very firm 8" using a contrasting but matching material. It is a fix it solution but works well. read more

Let me begin by saying what a great experience we had with this company. Mr. John Lee is a true professional in his trade. I called and obtained quotes from five different shops, by far he not only had the best price quotes, he responded promptly, answered all my questions, and picked up and delivered our furniture pieces. Pick up was on time and Mr. Lee picked up himself. He was extremely pleasant, professional, and thorough during his visit. He provided a completion timeline and delivered on time! I'm very pleased with the outcome. He "revived" my daughter's great-great grandmothers rocker, an oversized living room ottoman, and a large accent chair. This is an unbelievable story. I hired Mr Lee of Lee's Upholstery on Atlantic Blvd Jacksonville FL to upholster a wing chair and two matching cushions. I paid him his deposit on April 11th 2013. He picked up my chair and promised me it would be completed in 2 - 3 weeks. Three weeks later I called to see the status on my chair and after several attempts to reach him I finally made contact with Mr Lee and he told me that my chair was completed and only the separate cushions needed to be done. He promised the chair and cushions Saturday, May 18th. May 18th Nothing! A few days went by (2 weeks) and I finally made contact with his wife who told me they had upholstered another client's chair with the fabric I had chosen and ordered through Mr Lee .I can just imagine how that client felt when she saw her chair in the wrong fabric...Don't worry......It gets better. I was told that they would order my fabric and have my chair and cushions ready. I waited over two weeks and with every phone call was given excuse after excuse. For example workers having problem not showing up for work. I was promised my chair and cushions completed and delivered on Saturday June 8th and again on June 22nd. Monday June 24th (10 weeks after he picked up my chair and deposit) and after several attempts to call, I spoke with his wife who told me that the material I had chosen and that they had completed another client's chair with was no longer in production. I told her at this point in time to return my chair, cushions, and deposit immediately. After all this Mr Lee finally called me and wanted to offer bells and whistles such as no labor charges for cushions and discounts on material. Sounded good but fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. I declined and he delivered my grandmother's chair as it was 10 weeks + ago. I complained and let him know his lack of communication was what made me most upset. I would not recommend Lees upholstery to anyone. Another thing, he does not give you a formal, professional invoice and writes everything on the back of his business card. I don't know how that would hold up if you had to take him to court. He also said labor for the cushions were $50 when we spoke on the phone but when I asked him to write it down on the back of card he wrote $60. Both he and his wife apologized but no amount of apologizing would make me change my mind regarding Lee's upholstery. I am only relieved that I got my chair back and my deposit back after almost 11 weeks. I will be very careful with whom I chose in the future. This a TRUE story. read more

Used them for for several pieces of furniture. Lee was very unreliable and stood me up twice for appointments leaving me waiting without ever calling to cancel the appointment. When my furniture was returned one piece's was not mine, though it was covered in my fabric. No apology just "we will find your piece", then he tried to double the price, not compensate for his mistake, I could not find my original estimate, not sure if he gave me one, I think it was verbal, so I declined having the third piece covered. I just wanted the rest of my fabric, that I had paid for and my furniture. It took forever to get it back, and he never followed up by calling me, leaving me to call him every few days, leaving messages. What a hassle and an unprofessional way to treat a customer, especially when you have been at fault. When I did finally get the remainder of my fabric and the last piece of furniture there were only scrapes of my fabric left. He said" that's all there was left". Well I guess so,,, since you covered someones else' furniture with my fabric. Again no apology or refund on the fabric he wasted.. If he had been the least bit considerate I would never felt the need to write this review. I will not use Lee again. I liked the work that the upholsterers did, but working with Lee was not worth the work, too many options to choose from out there. read more
