It's totally non-profit and volunteer operated, with proceeds going directly to a local mission -- unlike other "non-profits" in town, who spread dollars across a corporate hierarchy or pump revenue up to a national office. The shop is cluttered, so expect to do some digging. When you find something you like, the price tag will be next to nothing. I picked up an oxford cloth button down for a buck. My daughter-in-law and I found this little gem with the help of yelp and I HAD to come on here and write about it. Both of us normally dread the formal dress shopping experience. This is, by far, the best formal dress shopping experience I've ever had. Ms Nanci was so helpful. In helping us, she was not pushy, she had great suggestions and lots of experience with what works. She was very patient and didn't get upset that I wanted to try many different styles to both see about something new and to rule out what might not work. She brought dresses to the dressing room and helped with zippers etc which sped up the process a lot. We were in and out in an hour and that has never happened before. We both bought affordable dresses that we love. If I ever need another formal dress again, this will be my first stop. There are a few more interesting tidbits about this store; they work directly with a seamstress who will do alterations for you and, if you want a different color dress (on most styles) you can order them, but there's is about an 8 week turnaround to get them. However, I have not yet received my order nor any indication from shipper as to when to expect product or how to track it, or even verification that my order was received by them from Splashwear (SW) and is in progress. I called SW to check on this, as the initial confirmation of my order did not include a timeframe. They seem to not realize that a customer might expect this kind of information, even if the product is being shipped from someone other than themselves. SW acknowledged being a bit overwhelmed, even while priding themselves on being a very small company (and offered to research my order and get back to me) - good for them, and I wish them success, but am baffled as to why there is no standard provision in their procedures for this basic information, nor apparently an understanding why, lacking this information, a customer might feel as though their order has fallen into a black hole. Covid short-staffing possibilities at manufacturer/shipper may be a real factor - but the apparently-standard lack of information seems like it would be fixable, once SW realizes that basic customer expectation.
