My middle child has ADHD and sensory issues and gets very over-stimulated in public places. Lefty tuned into that and makes him comfortable every single visit. John is the man! This is the real deal, old school straight razor and all. I've been using John for over three years and I am more than pleased with the way he cuts my hair. Ben did a great job on my haircut. He listened very carefully (a rare quality these days) and meticulously cut to order. I will go back without hesitation. The place is under renovation, so if you are looking for spit polished floors, this is not your place. However, if you are looking for a great haircut at a reasonable price cut by good people...then I recommend Lefty's. NEVER AGAIN! I will say this, Mr. Lefty pays people to write his "good" reviews on here. As you can see in another review, if someone writes a bad one he accuses you of "having lice", (yeah, okay). How juvenile and unprofessional. I have personally witnessed Lefty throw a chair at a customer right in front of me and try to fight them right in his OWN shop, then throw them out because of a slight difference in opinion! Not a fit environment for children after what I saw. An elderly Marine-Vet friend of mine said he cursed him and told him to "get the F out of his shop" for asking if he offered a military discount, saying he was also a vet and doesn't ask for discounts, and that people need to pay their own way in life. The few times he did cut me he smelled like straight bourbon, and the last time he cut it, he completely destroyed my hair. I had to go get it fixed later that same day by my new barber at a different shop in Florence! It's a further drive for me but worth it after what I've seen. I've been told by friends that he lost employees due to cursing and trying to fight them in the parking lot of his business in front of customers. When I mentioned him smelling like liquor, a friend of mine told me he gets completely hammered at the nearby bar. He also comes into the shop smelling like pot, coming back from the nearby creek where he smokes marijuana. This barber is a loose-cannon with his hostile antics towards customers and his own staff. Barbers should NOT come into work mentally impaired on drugs and alcohol, wanting to fight everyone in sight. I'll NEVER return. I'm sure he will respond saying I too have "lice" for this review, but Lefty is certified crazy and should not be trusted with sharp instruments after what I've seen and been told by other customers. read more

I've had better haircuts done by my mom. Not trans friendly and can be disrespectful. Wouldn't recommend or go back.
