* Drug dealers living across the hall whose customers would literally try to break down our door at 1am because they were deliberately given the wrong apartment number to try to be sneaky in case they were caught. * The buildings are falling apart, but it will take weeks to get anything fixed. Their "fixes" are things like propping up a folding door on some little wood scraps instead of replacing the broken door.
* It took 2 YEARS to get a bathroom fan replaced in the unit below us which was left on at all hours and made it sound like there was a gas generator running in our bathtub. This was reported regularly and for two full years brushed off with excuses and outright lies (e.g. "we had to order parts", then the same excuse given 2 months later).
* They constantly harass residents with threats of fines over meaningless vendettas like leaving out trash bins (more on that soon) or recycling too much so the bins overflow. Rather than fix the root problem (e.g. get a recycling dumpster, have bins emptied more often, etc) they just threaten to fine us and actually poke around the recycling to find shipping labels on boxes to know who to harass. Great use of time, with the excuse being that it "makes the property look bad"......meanwhile, they ignore lighting fixtures so full of dead insects that they do not produce useful light anymore, years-old dried puddles of dog urine on stairs, mold growing on the outside of doors because the weather stripping is so degraded the doors are constantly moist with condensation from leaking cool air, the entire mailbox area constantly smelling of rotting dog crap, and on and on and on.
* Trash valet service was changed at one point to a more expensive company (or at least that is the reason given for increasing what we have to pay, and there was no way to opt out, nor were existing lease agreements grandfathered in on pricing, which should not be legal). This change included removing the attractive wooden bins in the breezeways for cheap plastic bins we were ordered (with the threat of fines for disobedience) to store inside our units, as if we had the desire, let alone the space, to store a smelly bin inside our living space. Again, the reason given was "it makes the property look bad", never mind that the completely empty breezeways full of aforementioned insect corpses and urine stains looks like a derelict building that's used as a restroom for the homeless. The wooden bins looked great and went a long way to making this place look like civilized people actually lived here, that was not the problem with this place's image.
* There is a constant noise problem and no one cares. It once took two months to get them to address a problem with a resident having a guest over who parked across multiple spots with a trailer for his motorcycle, a bike he would take out at 5:30am and allow to "warm up" for half an hour, complete with purposely modified exhaust system to maximize its volume. They have gleefully allowed excessively large and loud parties at the pool because they are able to charge to rent the clubhouse for events like that, noise complaints be damned.
* Rent is ludicrous. The same unit I lived in previously for around 800 is now over $1400/month. Rent goes up every year because screw you. read more
