It is super hard to find a pastor in this area reading right out of the word of the GOD, the Bible. He preaches truth at times hard truth but it is absolutely refreshing. The only concern maybe about the "membership" not sure why and does it line up with God's word. People are very kind. read more

We were looking for a solid biblically based church. The pastor and other staff preach through books of the Bible verse-by-verse. Expository preaching at its finest. Theologically deep teaching, rich in both knowledge and practicality. This carries through in the music too, contemporary worship but they don't just sing any and every song out there, the worship is chosen based on theological soundness, doctrinal depth, and scriptural backing. The youth ministry is thriving, our 17 year old can't wait to go each Wednesday night. Also the lay elders are able and capable preachers which is biblical. Paul tells Timothy that elders must be "able to teach" (1 Tim. 3:2). He tells Titus that elders "must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it" (Titus 1:9). Must churches choose elders solely because of their financial status in the community. read more

My husband and I attended Legacy Bible Church for 2 1/2 years & Garner is one of the best Bible teachers/pastors we have ever listened to before. He teaches straight from the Bible & he knows his stuff! He tells it like it is & he gets deep within the message/topic he is preaching on. We recommend this church if you are looking for a non-denominational church where you are wanting to learn & where there are plenty of social events & ways to get connected. My wife and I attended Legacy Bible Church for about nine months while we lived in Sherman. I felt incredibly, deeply welcome by the members and staff of that church, and still consider it one of the best churches I have ever been to. Ultimately, every church is an organization filled with humans, and as a result it is imperfect. Legacy Bible Church is no exception, but I honestly can't think of anything negative to say. In the short time we attended we made a lot of friends, and although neither of us have family ties in Sherman, we would love to move back some day, even if only to return to Legacy Bible Church. Of course, they currently meet in a gymnasium on Sunday morning, but I can't say that ever bothered me. This is a Bible church, so the sermons are based directly on what the Bible says. It's a good opportunity to learn a lot about God, the Bible, the church, and yourself. If you do visit Legacy Bible Church, my prayer is that you would feel welcomed, that you will hear truth, and that you will understand. read more
