Kind, caring, professional and creative. I felt well cared for and that all my concerns were addressed. I liked that surgery wasn't the first option and lots of other options erred presented.

Although he was not friendly and I could tell he did not give a crap about me outside of my injury, I was impressed with his years of experience and his practice seemed well run, so I trusted him. While reviewing my MRI images, he told me I had a bad rotator cuff tear. He later told my wife and me, minutes before surgery, that I had a 75% rotator cuff tear. After the surgery, I found the MRI written summary, and the first sentence read, "No rotator cuff tear." The report repeated this 2 more times in the following paragraphs. I copied and pasted the MRI results into ChatGPT and asked whether surgery was the best option. It said no, and that surgery should be the last option. It recommended a steroid shot for the pain, rest, and 6 weeks of P. T. Dr. Moore never mentioned anything about resting it and waiting to see if it gets better. He said surgery was the only option. This was on a Friday. I was in a lot of pain, so I agreed to surgery the following Tuesday, which, of course, was open in his schedule. I wish so badly I had gone for a second opinion. He never said anything about how horrific rotator cuff surgery is, how painful the first 3 months are, or how it takes a year to fully recover. Nothing of the sort. He gave me zero warning about what I was getting myself into. I just thought I would be back to normal in a few months. He was a jerk at each of my two follow-up visits. I'm more than 4 months post op now and my shoulder still sits an inch higher up than my right. It looks awful and even with months of PT, home stretching, and strength training, it is still a mess and still causes pain. He is cocky and has a big ego. Just look at the reviews. Although somehow, he has some 5-star reviews, his last 5-star was over 7 years ago. All the rest are 1-star.

Dr. Kuhns looked at the X-rays from August and compared them to the ones in November and realized that there was something terribly wrong with the changes in the images. Almost immediately he scheduled major back surgery, going in from both the front and back in a six hour surgery. A bacterial infection was the cause of the rapid deterioration of two discs in my spine. I had several different doctors try to treat me with steroid shots, radiofrequency ablation, and a spinal stimulator. The pain just kept getting worse until I finally was referred to Dr. Kuhns for evaluation. The rest is history, as I can finally walk without major pain, and getting better by the day. I would recommend him and his very capable staff for any problem that you might have. Don't waste your time with anyone else. Gary K.

When you make an appointment with him you do not actually see him. You see one of his PAs. I expected to see him on my consultation visit to explain the surgery he was going to perform, not his PA. The day of the surgery he came by when I was in the waiting area before going into the OR, and he stopped by to introduce himself, and said we would be going into surgery in a few minutes, and then walked away with no explanation of what he would be doing. When I scheduled the follow up appointment I specifically told the receptionist I wanted to see the doctor. She informed me that I could not make the appointment to see the doctor, but that he would be in the clinic that day, and I could ask the PA to ask him to come into the exam room. What kind of doctor does this? I had the same surgery done over 20 years ago, on a different disc, with much better results. So, I guess I am also questioning his skills as a surgeon. My advice to anyone considering back surgery is to find another surgeon.

I WAS an avid runner and was having a slight issue of a bone spur. After a couple of steroid shots, Dr Shock recommended I get a simple surgery since I met my deductible and could do this easy surgery and be on the mend quickly. WHAT A HORRIBLE MISTAKE IT WAS LISTENING TO HIM!!! He should be not be practing medicine and sued for malpractice for my surgery. I underwent the surgery on his advice and was healing fine, inside the foot, perfect healing, no swelling, no pain, and I went in for the follow up. I had a tiny red dot on the outside suture where the stitch was sticking out. Instead of snipping the stitch off, he said. Oh I'm going to open this up and clean it out. I thought it was strange to do this but he's the expert (so I thought) and went home. A few days later my foot began to swell, got extremely red, and started to form an infection with oozing and puss. I kept calling the office and sending in pictures and time passed. Finally he said come in after 2 weeks. My foot got an infection from him opening it up and "cleaning it out" from my own bacteria that lives on the outside of the skin. He then tells me i have to have surgery again to clean it up. I come out of the second surgery and due to his negligence and the delays on his part, my ligaments on the inside were eaten by the bacteria so my pinkie toe has no support. I now live with a pinky toe that is elevated and cannot fit into many does, I have no feeling in the outside of my foot and can't wear many shoes because my toe sticks up and is very painful and embarrassing. DONT TRUST HIM FOR SURGERY!! Go to an orthopedic surgeon, NOT A podiatrist !! I live with this everyday, It effects my everyday life, makes it hard to play pickleball, run, and even wear heals. I would steer away from this practice at all costs.
