I pulled my kids from another Christian school in San Jose and moved them to Legacy Christian School. The teachers have welcomed my kids mid year with LOVING and OPEN ARMS!!!!!! They are receiving a SOLID education with a Biblical Worldview which is very important to our family. They also do an excellent job of including families with fun activities. I have been on one field trip with my youngest child and it was fun and the parents are all so friendly. My kids had no problems making new friends. I waited a month before writing this review because I wanted to see how my kids would adjust and see what they were learning. The teachers are EXCEPTIONAL, both of my kids love all the teachers. My encounters with the head of school, principal, and vice principal have been awesome as well. I am so glad I moved my kids here!!!!!! read more

Legacy is the best and most affordable private school. My nephews attend here and we are so impressed with the care and love the teachers and staff give the kids. Quality education and a charming small town feel school. Super safe and clean. The librarian is so caring and kind to my nephews. They love her - I think her name is Shelly? We researched different schools and were referred to Legacy, we had high hopes that it would be part of our youngest son's Legacy, however our experience was far from a legacy, and far from following Christian Moral. After completing the online documents, paying the application fee and meeting with staff and "teacher Janet" we were welcomed nicely upon arrival. They took our 5 year old aside asked us to sit around the corner , on the red couch while they "assessed" our son. We thought ok , sure . Our son grew up in covid lockdowns and was unable to obtain preschool or gain those pre Kindergarten benefits. He does have a lovely teen sister who has schooled him on numbers and abc's . He knows it well as a basic start. When he was finished , the staff told us school would begin on Tuesday! He was Delighted to finally meet friends, and start his learning. Then, the next day, we receive a denial, which stated he's behind in kindergarten skills and would not be able to attend. How would this make a child feel? Go figure! To follow a Christian path, will not be found in a place like this. They seem to not have any resources to accommodate children with special needs or even give a proper assessment. I'll also mention the school inside is outdated and no windows in the classrooms that we could see while inside. read more

This is a beautiful little school nestled in a neighborhood in South San Jose. The staff is incredibly friendly and the preschool teachers are great and loving. Wonderful school with traditional education and values. Students actually learn History vs social sciences in Public school. My 7th grader is enjoying Bible studies and in person learning and developing friendships she craved and missed for so long in 2020. We couldn't wait any longer just like many of the other parents. We have rearranged some things and sacrificing a bit more so we can make this work for us. I am very thankful and gracious for God helping us through this tough year. When we realized that our public school was not going to open any time soon due to the pandemic, we enrolled our 1st and 3rd grader to attend Legacy. So far we love this school and the thoughtful and kind staff. This is a VERY small school (one class per grade) so everyone knows everybody and almost all teachers have children attending the school. It seems that the majority of the staff are on each other's class Facebook pages and everyone knows what everyone else is doing at the school and in class. It's a tight knit community and could be even tighter if we could be "closer" together but due to the restrictions brought on by the pandemic, only staff and students are allowed on campus. Of course we would love to visit my kids classrooms and see what they are doing and have quick 5 minute talks here and there with their teachers, but this cannot be. However, the teachers have been very responsive to any emails we've sent them, and we get to have our in-person hello's when we pick up our kids afterschool (the teachers wait with he kids during pick-up times). The school is doing a great job following county protocols and we feel lucky that our kids are getting in-person instructions unlike the other students attending public schools. We intend to keep them there even after things go back to normal with the public schools. read more

We had our daughter attend Legacy Christian School for Pre-K. We couldn't have been any happier with the curriculum and the religious teachings. Her teacher, Mrs. Naumann, was great! My daughter still remembers her and all of the good things she learned in her class. I love that the school has a uniform policy, however the uniforms are for K and up. After attending a few school events, I noticed that all of the teachers respected each other and the students were in good hands. The price of attendance is affordable as well compared to other schools in the area. I've recommended this school to a few of my friends looking for preschools. read more

We absolutely LOVE Legacy Christian School. My daughter started kindergarten here last year and is now well into her 1st grade year. Her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Craig, was Fantastic! She is everything you would want for your child's first year of school. So sweet, kind, patient, always doing little extra things for the kids to make them feel special, an all around lovely person and of course a great teacher! She taught the kids so much. I really like the curriculum. It is a good mix of phonics and "special sounds", so they really get a good foundation for reading. She is now in Mrs. Rind's (love her too!) 1st grade class and is reading so well. The school has a lot of extra programs, too. My daughter enjoys the art classes during school and we also have her in the Tai Kwon Do in a after school class. But there are many more extra programs that are offered. One thing I think is really important to mention, they limit homework. I think this is an awesome concept. They understand that your child needs to rest after school and have family time. It's a small thing, but makes so much sense and limits stress at home. The Principal, Mrs. Hudson, is always smiling and there to greet the kids every morning as they arrive. The staff is positive too and we just feel so blessed to have found this gem of a school. We just started my daughter at this school this year. She is in pre-school, and I must say it has been such a blessing we found this school. Her teacher is amazing! She is half way through the school year and she has begun to read! Its a small school, and has not been in San Jose very long, but I see a very bright and long future ahead for Legacy. This school has a gorgeous landscape. Location feels safe too. But- I'm in tech and the tech here is severely lacking. I don't expect a small school to compensate education with technology like the surrounding public schools do. The building itself is just old. I couldn't look past that. I couldn't get past the weary look. Not with the other small Christian schools nearby. This would be a great place to raise kids up in- but I couldn't get passed the old, worn down feel when I attended a ceremony. I wouldn't feel safe to be there all day- due to how run down the campus appeared. But I'm used to new buildings , with state of the art equipment. I shouldn't judge a book by its cover- but if you get passed the building and outdated toys and equipment- this is probably what wholesome really is. read more

My son has attended Legacy Christian School for both kindergarten and first grade, and I cannot express how grateful and happy we are to have found such a caring, nurturing, and academically excellent school for him. Before enrolling our son at Legacy, my husband and I deliberated for a long time. We are fortunate to have very good public schools in our area and wondered if it would be worth it to place our son in private school with the accompanying (although very reasonable, in Legacy's case) tuition. We are so glad that we decided on Legacy! Our son's teachers have all been awesome, extremely caring individuals who genuinely love their students and go way above and beyond to make sure that each child excels academically, becomes a good citizen, grows spiritually, and loves school. The teacher-to-student ratios are very, very good, and should a classroom's size grow, the administration makes sure to do what needs to be done to maintain good ratios. The administration and staff are all exceptionally kind and do so many things to make sure every student feels cared for and loved. When I send my child to school, there is such peace in my heart because I know he is going somewhere that isn't just a school - everyone there knows and looks out for each other, and my son is always so happy to head to school and so full of excitement and joy about his day when we pick him up afterwards. Reading has always been a little bit of a challenge for my son, and his teachers at Legacy have helped him so much. Students who need extra help and individual attention at Legacy always receive it, along with good ideas for ways the parents can help. Even if something is challenging for the students, the teachers really help keep them motivated and positive about everything. The amount of homework given is perfect - just enough to cement in the day's learning a bit. I really feel that my child learns a lot while at school, and there's no need for an overwhelming amount of homework because so much has already been covered well in class. Finally, I think it's worth mentioning that the teachers all stay with their students while they wait for their parents to drive through the circle in front of the school to pick them up. Safety monitors, aides, and even the super-nice principal herself all walk the students (especially the young ones) to their parents' cars. Everyone is as friendly and polite as can be, and it's these little things - this caring environment - that makes this school stand out. We will continue to send our son to Legacy as long as we can and hope to send his little sister there, too. It's very comforting to know that my son is in such good hands all day at school and that everything is always such a positive experience for him. read more

I have two children who have attended Legacy Christian School. My youngest will graduate from the 8th grade this year. There are many things that I appreciate about LCS. Both of my daughters tested well in the standardized testing, showing that they are meeting or exceeding academic expectations during their attendance at LCS. Classes are small allowing teachers to spend time with individual students to help them with their specific needs. I believe the small class size also allows for more content to be covered during school hours and therefore reduces homework. What I appreciate the most about LCS is the loving and caring faculty. They daily show Christ's love to the students. I enjoy seeing the students warmly welcomed each morning to school. The girls on the volleyball team are enthusiastic and encouraging of each other, providing a fun and competitive environment. And both of my girls have been blessed to have caring teachers who have stepped in to provide wise counsel as they have navigated their middle school years. I cannot adequately thank the LCS faculty for partnering with us over the years to raise healthy and happy young women. LCS is a school with a strong sense of community. It is not a big school but it is very effective in many ways. We love the fact that the teachers and staff members are gentle and responsive. We particularly like that fact that they are always qualified adults around to watch the students both inside and outside the school. Communications with the school at both the classroom and school levels are efficient and effective as the school capitalizes on technology. The school puts in extra effort to teach students to share love by organizing and participating in various school and communities activities. Coming from a culture which highly values education and with many years of experience of being a school ethnographer, I am impressed with the academic environment that the school has been creating for students from different backgrounds.
