Legacy doors and more really saved us. Our large 16x10 door had been bumped by a "teenager in a car"... Legacy was our 4th bid. The first 3 companies told us a new door was the only option, door was "totalled". They said a comparable door was $6000-10000. We were freaking out! In walks Legacy! The tech was very friendly, laid back, and told us what was music to our ears. "Think it's fixable, a lot of this like that twist in the top panel, is mostly because it has a bound pressure on it. Once i get it back in, a lot of that won't be nearly as bad. it won't be straight as an arrow like it once was, but it should run. Worst case we might need some braces but even then we are still far from $6000-10000. I think the initial offtrack will be about $900, if we need struts or something we will cross that bridge when we get there." This sounded too good to be true. I was in disbelief. But he seemed confident, and competent. We figured lets give it a shot. After all what's the worst that could happen? A totaled door? Lol! I was shocked this guy did all of this by himself. I even offered to help, which he refused. To me it looked very dangerous, but it was clear he knew what he was doing. Literally only about 45 minutes later. It was done. It was up and running. The panels were mostly straight. Honestly if i hadn't seen the damage i never would've known it had happened. He saved us $5000-9000. I gave him a $200 tip i was so happy! I needed my garage door repaired when it wouldn't open. I didn't know what was going on. legacy doors and more came out just a few hours later on a weekend. The technician quickly diagnosed the garage door spring was broken. He also looked through the rest of the door and motor. I've been in this house for 8 years, assumed the door was maybe 15 years old. He found the manufactured date. It was from 1995, so 31 years old. The motor was 17 years old. As he continued his inspection he found a lot of issues. He took the time to show me each of them, explain, give pricing and options, and explained the risks of each. Some were critical/high risk, others he said could be considered passable or lower risk. We ultimately got new garage doors and motors. I had no idea it was so far gone, and the repairs would've added up to almost as much. We took that opportunity to upgrade to an insulated steelback door, and windows. And trust me, we got other bids, but found that Legacys pricing was very reasonable. And these other bids most were for the same brand/model. And or comparable same gauge of steel, same insulation R-Value etc. We were still leaning towards Legacy either way with such a great initial inspection experience. Part of what impressed us was that they were in no way pushy. We didn't feel like they were just upselling us on repairs. Each and everything they showed us, metal shavings coming out of the bearings, cables fraying, rollers with flat wheel's instead of rounded, cracks in hinges, cracks in panels etc. Honestly it's something we took for granted, and it's a miracle it didn't fall on us or our cars. I had already scheduled another company to come out, but Mike reached out and impressed me with his proactive approach. Legacy Doors And More helped repair my garage door, when no one else would. Three other companies immediately tried to upsell me into a new door and motor. Saying they couldn't repair my garage door. Legacy was the only one to give it to me straight. They recommended a new door, but said that a Repair was possible. That it would be noisy, creek, and pop, but adding struts to reinforce the panels, and upsizing the Door Springs to counterbalance the additional weight would be just fine, and stronger than ever. And at less than a third the price. I mean we are all on a budget, things are more expensive than ever right? I've been really sick of the pushy "upsell" companies that seem like the new norm. When our garage door motor broke, we got a couple bids. Luckily, one of them was Legacy doors and more. It was a 28 year old motor, so we assumed to replace the garage motor. We were after the mid grade motor. The bids ranged anywhere from $700-1600. I mean sheesh what a broad range. Legacy came in at $850. We went with them because the lower prices... Heck even some of the higher prices didn't have nearly the reputation they did. I also like that they are actually based in layton utah, to help us in fruit heights. Plenty of other companies have a dot on the map nearby, but are actually based out of salt lake, utah county, etc. To me this means more "local" pricing, as well as any repeat or warranty work won't be as big of a deal either. Great experience with Legacy doors and more. We called them for our garage door springs. They were priced low-mid range compared to the other bids we were getting but so happy we called them. They took the time to explain things, found a few more issues that they bundled, all of which they showed us the worn out part to help us understand and justify replacing it. Ultimately we did a spring replacement, garage motor install, garage door struts, and garage weather seal. All in we were about $1100, bundled down from $1700 if we had done everything separately. Mike did a laundry room custom shelving project for us that came out even better than we had hoped. We had wanted long free floating shelves to match the industrial look of the rest of our house and he designed a concept that fit exactly with what we were looking for. We had a lot of existing support structures and cutouts on the wall that he had to work with but he made the custom shelves blend in seamlessly around all the unmovable structures. He was honest and reliable. I could tell he wasn't cutting corners to get the job done quickly but truly wanted it to be a high quality project that we would be happy with.
