This is a tough review to write and I really wanted to give 5 stars for an "excellent" rating. We had a garage door spring decide to die on a Thursday evening. I turned to Yelp and found this company and sent them a note for a quote. Early next morning I get a text to set up an appointment. They sent a fair price and wanted to set up an appointment for the following Monday from 10-noon. "5" stars to this point. I scheduled some personal time to be home for the appointment. This is where it gets a bit hairy. At 12:20 I send a text to see if they are still coming. Response back is that tech was delayed and will be there in about an hour. 2:08 pm I send a note to see if everything is okay? Another apology and they think he is almost done at the job before mine. ETA of 30-40 minutes or an offer to re-schedule. Cannot really reschedule since I took time off. 3:20pm I send a note that no tech has showed up. He arrives about 5 minutes later. Tech has the job done in about 40 minutes. I go to pay him and he tells me he doesn't have the ability to take Venmo or a check. I reach out to the anonymous text and am told they can take a CC for a 3% fee. Woof. Instead they email me a bill and I go find a checkbook and a stamp. The actual spring replacement was great and quick. I really didn't like being the one chasing down my appointment and felt that if someone is going to be late (or late again, or again) they should be reaching out to me. read more

I bought a garage door opener from Home Depot and they hired Up and Over Garage Doors to do the install. I was VERY disappointed in the service they provided. I asked if they could help me setup the remote control controls and they refused saying it was a liability. However when I tried to do it myself the Learn button wouldn't work. I called her (the co-owner who installed the door) and her response was "not my issue must be an equipment issue and I would have to work with HP to get a warranty order started." I was very disappointed with her response and said I was not happy and I would take it up with HD. Home Depot reached out to them several times over the next two weeks and said they have been ghosted and no response from them over two weeks. Home Depot refunded my purchase and install costs and provided a new garage door opener. I installed it myself and it works perfectly. I will NOT refer this Up and Over to anyone. read more

I bought a new opener at a big box store on clearance. Realized I wasn't as skilled as I thought, so submitted a request for bids to install my opener on Yelp. These guys were responsive and the bid was right. I was given a two hour window for arrival for the installation. Derek showed up during the window. He was nice and professional. Told me the job would be done within an hour. He completed the swap and helped me program the pin pad for outside entry during the timeframe exactly as stated. I bought a unit on Amazon that had all the features that I wanted, and then tried to get one of the local companies to install. You'd have thought I stole their darned birthday when I said I already had the hardware. Getting quotes was difficult, and one company quoted me a fair price but then showed up and proceeded to say that the door and railing needed TLC and they just couldn't do it for more than double. So I fired them and hired Derek. He works quickly, is priced very competitively (he was HALF the quote from the other guys and that was before they doubled it!) He also responded to my inquiry within minutes. I couldn't be happier with the whole situation from start to finish. Returned a Yelp message early the following morning and then came out that day to straighten out our double door so we could at least get in. We had previously called 2 other companies with no reply! It turned out our motor and switch were too old to get parts for so a few days later they installed a completely new motor and replaced our old chain with a much quieter belt drive, along with a new remote and keyless entry. She worked smart and safe and even did the programming too as well as cleaned up everything thoroughly when the job was done. Everything works great and best of all, it was quite a bit less than what we paid to replace our single door motor last year. Call these guys, no one else! read more

Simply Amazing! Derrick came out last night at 10 pm (all the way to Sandy, mind you) to fix a major issue we were having with the spring and the 2x4 that it is mounted to (the 2x4 split in half, the springs lost all tension and our garage door wouldn't open). They came out same day even though they were busy. The tech that came out and helped me was quick and efficient. They charged a fair price for the broken spring required to fix my door and the quote included parts and labor so there were no hidden fees to deal with. I had a couple other companies come out and give me a quote and they all tried to up sell me on parts that the door didn't require. I wanted a quick simple fix and Up N Over delivered! read more
