I live and work very close to the gym, so when my previous gym contract expired, I was genuinely looking forward to joining a facility that would be more convenient for both home and work. Unfortunately, I have found it surprisingly difficult to even get through the door. The gym doors are locked, and access depends on staff being present. The posted "staffed hours" are clearly listed on the door, but they do not seem to correspond with when anyone is actually there. Over the past two weeks, I stopped by three separate times during those posted staffed hours. Each time, no one was there. I knocked, waited outside, and called the gym, but received no response. I then submitted a contact form through the website and received an automated email saying that someone would be in touch soon. No one contacted me. I called again and left another message, and again, I received no response. At that point, I began to wonder whether the gym was closing or experiencing some larger issue. I looked at the reviews and noticed that the owner, Jason, appeared to be friendly and responsive to customers publicly. He had also shared his email address, so I decided to reach out to him directly in the hope that I could finally get some clarity and simply become a member. Unfortunately, my experience in private was very different from what I had seen in his public responses. While Jason was responsive, his emails came across as dismissive and defensive rather than helpful. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the fact that I had spent weeks repeatedly trying to contact the gym, despite making every effort to become a paying customer. Much of the conversation centered on defending the gym's staffing situation rather than addressing the very reasonable concern that the posted staffed hours did not appear to reflect when staff were actually present. I ultimately spent another two days going back and forth just trying to find a time when I could come in, sign up, and join. After nearly three weeks of trying, I decided that the amount of effort required simply to become a customer was no longer worth it. That is the part I find most disappointing. I wanted to support a local business, and I was actively trying to give them my business. It should not be this difficult for someone to become a paying member. I am heading to In-Shape today to sign up instead. It is a little farther from home, but at this point, I would much rather deal with a business that makes it reasonably easy for prospective customers to actually become customers. I hope the gym takes this feedback seriously. The issue is not that I expected special treatment; I simply expected the posted "staffed" hours to be accurate, my calls and messages to receive a response, and a straightforward membership inquiry to be handled with basic courtesy and professionalism.

If you have a membership at another anytime fitness gym and want to check this one out: BEWARE…read more.. they will lie and say your membership expired and have you sign up again at their gym all the while your getting charged at both gyms when 1 anytime fitness membership is supposed to cover all anytime fitness gyms. They will also refuse to give any refunds when you confront them over their lies and will harass you even after you closed your account for "collections and late fees" THANKS MATT!!!

I'm still not too far away, but these days I usually prefer the Auburn location. This particular day, I got home late from a weekend out with the family and missed my morning workout, so I had to switch things up and hit the gym in the evening. The gym itself wasn't crazy crowded, but somehow EVERY machine I needed was occupied. Even the free weights were under new management . Must've been a whole squad of little guys like myself showing up at the exact same time. But honestly, the equipment wasn't my problem. Everything I used worked properly, nothing was broken, and after some patience and a little equipment-hunting, I got my workout done. Now... the parking lot? That was a different workout altogether. There was a LOT of activity happening outside, and it definitely gave off the vibe that some of it was making its way into the club. I walked in and nobody was at the front desk. I'm pretty sure my phone scan didn't even register, but I wasn't about to start wandering around looking for an employee like I was on a scavenger hunt. The workout itself was perfectly fine. Walking back to my car, however, had me checking my surroundings like I was completing the final boss level of my gym session. I'm not trying to judge anybody, but there were definitely some interesting characters hanging around, and I found myself saying a quick prayer that my car--and everything inside it--was still having a good day. I know 24 Hour Fitness can't control everything happening around the property, and I'm not knocking the staff or the equipment because those were fine. But when I'm leaving the gym, I shouldn't feel like I need to stretch, grab my keys between my fingers, and activate Situational Awareness: Premium Edition. Would I come back? Absolutely... if I had to. I'd probably just come earlier in the day when things seem a little calmer. 3 stars: The gym itself gets the job done. The equipment worked, I got my workout in, and nobody bothered me. But the overall atmosphere around the location definitely took this visit from "solid workout" to "let me get to my car real quick."

I have faith in and I am getting results with his training. I signed up for the circuit training two days a week and participate in Butts-n-Guts when I can. A "free" membership comes with it so I can go any other times that I want to and just work out on my own. The gym atmosphere itself is down-to-earth, and, yes, has an old-school feeling -- not super fancy -- and I love being there! Every time I leave I know I'm at the right place and doing good for my body in an environment that feels safe and where I feel encouraged and supported.

The bathroom is huge and has a lot of amenities like a sauna, massage chairs, a cinema, and etc. I haven't found this gym to be very busy but I also go during odd hours. I really like the massage chair. However, they did change their prices. My friend pays $29 with buddy pass back in January and now it's $35 for that same plan. Kinda disappointed that only a few months the price changed. I do wanna try their classes. I heard they were fun.

Unfortunately, I had to give up my my membership after 6 years due to many factors! Rio del Oro only caters to kids which I completely understand! The only issue is the kids run the place and some of their parents support their bad behavior! I have observed over the years teenagers throwing heavy weights in the pool, a chair thrown in one of the pools, kids crossing lanes to interrupt adults doing lap swims, a young kids yelling as I went for another lap tell his mother mom that I said she was a bitch... I told her it didn't happen.. some dude told her that I didn't like didn't like kids A friend who was a member approached her to let her know she was absolutely beautiful and I never said this... I was accused of hating kids and that I couldn't speak English... etc... Along with saying do you know who I am... Unbelievable! Another member who was 20 minutes late, I let him know he lost his lane.. he got his in my face.. I kept on swimming at which time he tried to crash into me with his body to hurt me! No deck personnel to facilitate the rules! I have written so many incident reports... what's written on the schedule can change out on the deck. The masters swim took over the big pool when they are supposed to be in the 6 lane pool! I have felt like I was in the twilight zone me at this Club! The staff are wonderful.. Like I was told many times by the staff, I only work here.. they said we are the last to know... The staff makes Rio Del Oro awesome.. it's management failing to have deck personnel to rein in the kids and their parents! There does not seem to be a culture of wiping down the equipment after use (which is maybe more on the patrons, but they could post signs, because gross). The "free" personal training session is basically a high-pressure timeshare presentation to buy more personal training sessions, but that's to be expected, I suppose. Tends to be less busy, which is nice, and the prices are very reasonable. Front desk staff are always friendly.
