Constant chaos due to sloppy, inept management and a steady flow of new employees quitting without warning after only a few days on the job. The obese store manager here always seems to have only a tenuous grasp on her managerial responsibilities. Even worse, is the scrawny hag from corporate who has delusions of grandeur despite the fact that she spends most of her time doing the same grunt work and enduring the same drudgery as the regular low-paid drones. In fact, this crone's unrealistic superiority complex tempted me several times in passing, to viciously clothesline her. And just like her two other corporate counterparts, she's clownish and clueless. Add to that, the pay is barely over minimum wage, the benefits are laughable, and because SA is considered a religious entity, if you're let go or there's another scam-demic, you won't get unemployment benefits. So do yourself a favor. Unless you're a desperate low-life loser, give this slave-labor "opportunity" a pass.

The sheets are folded so wonderful, , I want to bring the 'folder" home to my house, so all my sheets look so cute and put together! Hopefully they will have a class for this one day!! lol They also have toy bags full of kids toys and games, separate bags for toddlers and then bigger kids. Usually the bag has a theme, dinosaurs, trains, dolls, or lots of others, and they are large and full, for less then $4.00. Excellent for quick gifts or presents. Will always go when I am on that side of town! Very helpful and friendly people, always ready to help find you what you are looking for. One of my favorites!

I've seen better at other local thrift stores, albeit perhaps one star. Grand Rapids' thrift scene is very basic. Whether it's that parishioners are donating used goods to their in-church ventures (as I've seen at a local faith based retirement home) or everything is used until it's used up, GR seems to be a hard market for fun thrift shopping. (Note: if you've seen this comment before, it's because I spent the morning hitting all the thrift stores in succession, and all of them were wanting of a good dose of donations, inspiration, and organizational pizzazz.)

We were surprised to see even more furniture, plus some shoes, dresses, a very small selection of men's and women's clothes, books and kid's clothes. The aisles are wide, the booths are nicely appointed, and there is lots of great natural light from all the windows. I love that they are arranged by "streets" with numbers for each booth, making it easy to remember where you saw something. There are lots of fun things to check out - I love the reading room that also features art from local artists. They have the ability to rent a shelf vs. a whole booth, which I thought was really cool. Possibly the best part - the free popcorn! I also really like the fun decor like the board game wall. Parking is ample on the street in front or the free lot across the street. I'm already looking forward to my next visit to Elevated.
