We've had such a wonderful experience at Legacy Traditional School Cibolo! The teachers truly care about their students and go above and beyond to help them succeed. My child has made amazing progress academically, and I love the structure and high expectations the school sets. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and communication has been great. The campus is beautiful, clean, and well-organized, and there's a real sense of community among the families. I also appreciate how the school balances strong academics with fun events and school spirit activities. I'm so thankful to have a school like Legacy in our area -- my child is happy, learning, and excited to go to school every day! read more

Parent Review: Our Experience at Legacy Traditional School (Pre-K4 2023-2024, Kindergarten 2024-2025) Our daughter began her journey at Legacy Traditional School in the 2023-2024 school year as a Pre-K4 student. That first year was absolutely wonderful--her teacher was kind, attentive, and truly cared about her growth and well-being. She thrived socially and academically with no issues among peers, and we felt confident in our decision to enroll her at Legacy. Unfortunately, our experience during the 2024-2025 Kindergarten year has been heartbreaking and traumatic. At the start of the year, my daughter came home and told me that another student had touched her inappropriately during music class. Her teacher was shocked, assured me she would speak to the other child's parents and involve the principal. I never received a single follow-up--first red flag. Since the beginning of the year, my daughter's snacks have been consistently stolen out of her backpack. I reported it, and her teacher said she would keep an eye on things. Yet, as of April 17th, this issue is still ongoing. My daughter regularly has no snack at school. Things seemed to settle for a while, but then a serious concern arose. My daughter came home one day telling me that a boy in her class was saying things like, "I'm going to cut your head off," directed at her and another student. I informed the teacher, who told me she was "handling it." Despite this, the same child was later awarded in front of the entire school for his behavior--a slap in the face to the children being harmed. Over time, the same student continued to bully my daughter. He regularly insulted her appearance, saying things like, "your dress is trash," "your hair is trash," and "your glasses are ugly." Each time, I brought it to the teacher, who responded with sympathy and said she was speaking to the boy's mother and working on a behavioral plan. But nothing changed. In early April, my daughter came home with a large bruise on her arm. When I asked what happened, she explained that another child in class had a bracelet, and she asked the little boy for it back and he said "no", my daughter tried to return it to the girl, the same boy grabbed her arm and slammed it on the desk multiple times. This was my breaking point. I expressed to the teacher that clearly her hands were tied, and she admitted she had reached out to administration but was at a loss for how to move forward. No one from the school contacted me to discuss how they would ensure my daughter's safety. At that point, my husband began calling the district, the school, and any contact he could reach. Eventually, we spoke to an administrator who explained their plan moving forward--but even now, my daughter remains in the same class as the child who has physically and emotionally harmed her all year. I can no longer recommend this school. Between the lack of communication, failure to address serious safety issues, teacher turnover, and even chaos in the car line (where I've had to leave my car multiple times because no staff member helped my daughter locate me), it has been one issue after another. If you're considering enrolling your child at Legacy Traditional School, I strongly urge you to be vigilant--and honestly, consider self-defense classes for your children. Such a beautiful building is being managed by a horrible principal and vice principal. It's heartbreaking to see a school with so much potential become a place where staff and families feel pushed away. Even more concerning is how some children have reportedly been treated. When parents feel their kids are being harassed or mistreated, it destroys the trust a school should have with its community. When even the Cibolo police tell a parent to "follow your heart" and consider removing their children, it shows just how serious the situation has become. This school deserves leadership that truly cares about the students, teachers, and families. I sincerely wish that another group outside of Legacy could step in and give this place the care, respect, and leadership it deserves. read more

Now that I'm going to another school it has been confirmed that Legacy literally drains its students of all their creativity, and happiness. I am in a better place emotionally now; the school I'm going to currently is very supportive and has shown me that Legacy set my standards really low. That's besides the point what I truly want to talk about is all the incidents that has happened to me throughout the 6-7th grade at this school because now I'm not afraid to break my silence. (Buckle up parents because this will be a lot) 1.Student got expelled for smoking weed. Yes you heard me a MIDDLE schooler was smoking weed and had to get pulled away by security. Now I have to say I don't know if it was actually drugs, but I do know this happened because I was literally there to witness it first hand. 2. Administrators wouldn't give a girl detention just because her mom worked at the school. I won't be saying names, but there's a lot of backstory for this one so to keep it simple I'll just say that this girl would constantly talk bad about one of my friends, so obviously I told my friend so she could report it to the principal, and guess what. They did nothing; no matter how many people had a bad experience with that girl all because her mom worked there. She was very mean and controlling. 3.One of my old friends who I will respectfully not give out her name just for her safety, got bullied severely by ADULTS to the point she almost wanted to kill herself. Yes I know I may not have gotten permission to write about this one , but if it could save other kids lives I will do so anyway. One day during PE we got the choice to either play soccer inside or just sit down and chill. I chose to sit down because I didn't feel like playing, but when I walked towards the side of the gym to sit I saw one of my friends and she was crying. So of course I went to go ask what's wrong; sadly she mentioned how our principal Mr.Turner, and some other teachers would constantly target and make fun of her, but whenever she tried to report them the school system would do nothing. She had felt that by all the bullying her only choice was to commit suicide. Thankfully I talked to her and she ended up not doing it (she also got therapy I think, and moved schools during that year). Still messed up that the school did NOTHING. 4.Teachers hated students and didn't care about them. I remember vividly that one day in band class we were chilling doing whatever. We were sort of a hyper class but we did to our best to try and play our instruments. And randomly our director flat out told everyone that she "hated our class the most and didn't want to be a director because she wanted to be a theater teacher!". This was honestly so dumb, I feel mad typing it right now. If she didn't want to be a band director why couldn't she just find a job at another school? So avoidable, she wasn't even good at her job anyways. I'm doing way better in my current band thankfully. 5.I know you think this is very long and are probably skimming through it but I promise this is my last one! I call it: Sexism,Racism, and Homophobia. The big three! Now people may call me dramatic and say "oh but all middle schoolers especially the guys are like this!!!! T-they all find this funny!!!!", and to that I say "Shut up, you graduated middle school 50 years ago times have changed". Honestly I used to think the same too; in my old last year brain I thought every middle schooler was the same, they thought calling each other a slur because of their skin was funny, told random girls that if they wanted equal rights then men should be able to hit women, and that all gays should be relentlessly bullied. Until recently at my new school I realized how low Legacy had my expectations. I fully expected to be hearing racist/sexist comments coming out of my guy classmates 24/7, but no I was wrong! Even today just hearing one of the dudes in my class talk to someone and say "a guy shouldn't be hitting a girl anyways..." was a big shock to me. Even in my mind I said "wow...at legacy the guys would've been saying that it's okay for a guy to hit a girl". Legacy genuinely made me scared of going to any other new school because I thought I'd get harassed by teachers and students. Thankfully I managed to escape this hell hole of a school and made it to somewhere way better. My anxiety (which was horrible if you couldn't tell how I wrote my other review) is getting better and I'm even getting good grades. So I really hope that if a parent is reading this, I beg of you to not let your kids come here especially if they're a girl or a person of color. read more

I have been studying at this school since 5th grade, now that I'm in seventh grade, pressure is on, you have homework every day and sometimes if you get a bad grade you have to stay afterschool to "catch up", save your time and go to a public school. read more

Legacy traditional school cibolo is an amazing school to send your children to! We have been there from Day one with my oldest child & now my youngest is attending & I could t be happier! I've always love that they are in a safe, happy environment with loving teachers and staff. The curriculum keeps them on their toes while teaching the students in a fun way. After 1 year of Dobie, I was done. I shouldn't have even let my daughter stay that full year. I was so happy when it was voted on to allow for charter schools with public funding (Legacy to the rescue!!). I'm not saying Legacy is perfect, but it's 1,000 times better than Dobie, hands down. No bullying (students are MUCH better behaved), no graffiti, teachers are nice and approachable, work load is reasonable, the principal is involved in EVERYTHING, which is awesome! There are tons of fun family events. The food is so much healthier (No artificial colors, flavors, preservatives, etc.) A few downsides: no bus transportation (which has been VERY difficult with our schedules), no changing rooms for the gym, (bathrooms only), which caused a variety of issues (kids messing around in the bathrooms, taking too long, holding up the other kids causing them to be late to class both to PE and the following classes, and no mirrors or paper towels in the inside bathrooms). That issue became irrelevant toward the end of the year as they aren't required to dress out anymore. My biggest complaint is a severe lack of communication. Coming in new, we weren't given any instructions and had to figure everything out by trial and error. The pick up / drop off line and policies were confusing at first, which lead to written warnings with the potential for being fined $50 if I was late. I didn't know that we had to call before 10 am to report an absence for the day until I started receiving notices that she was being marked as an unexcused absence because we failed to call. Once everything was clarified and I understood the expectations and modified accordingly, things went smoother, but I am still not well informed about events, choir performances, test dates, etc.. She left some expensive property in the teacher's room (with the teacher's permission), so I expected it to be guarded, but when she brought it home it was missing pieces and had clearly been tampered with by other students. We are still in the process of trying to correct this issue. The teacher did respond to my email and sounds like she's willing to make it right, which I appreciate. Since this Legacy location only goes through 8th grade, she'll be going back to the district next year to Steele HS. There is a high school located near North Star Mall. read more

Sad excuse of a school. Low quality teachers that have little to no experience, granted they are nice but they do not have the needed training and at times fail to follow the IEP and 504 which needs and will be reported to the TEA. They have a high overturn in teachers and for good reason. The middle school has a lot of substitute which cause a disruption in the classroom as the kids have trouble learning the best example of this is the 8th grade being switched to Mr.kling so that they have time to be taught for STAARS in ELA leaving both the seventh and sixth grade with substitute for history and ELA/READING which is to say they are not learning. read more
