My experience with this school has been disappointing overall. From the very start, my daughter, a kindergartener, was sent to the principal's office as early as the second day of school and continued to be sent there frequently. The class size was over 35 students, and it was clear the teacher was overwhelmed trying to manage such a large group. The structured, no-carpet classroom setup didn't seem suited for younger kids like my daughter, who learns best through movement and engagement. Instead of extra support or strategies to help her adjust, she was often removed from class. The principal also seemed stressed during calls and voicemails, which made communication feel reactive rather than supportive. At one point, the principal even questioned whether my daughter had a learning disability, but she already knew all of the material being taught. What she really needed was a more engaging and flexible learning approach, not constant discipline. I tried to stay involved and work with the staff, but overall, I feel the large class sizes and lack of proper support created an environment where my child couldn't thrive read more

first of all my son went to school here in third grade and I would like to say it was the worst experience ever. First of all they gave him the wrong education, second of all the principal and the assistant principal I feel like against the students in some way? They try to be the rudest they can and then say oh it's just policy. even though my son has never done anything wrong they're always calling him up to the office until I decided to move him to another school. he's always like mommy keep me home with you I don't like school anymore because of them. miss Baca and Mr bayler. I have never seen such rudeness in my life. At this point I think Park Meadows is better. not only that but the school lunch is horrible. My son used to always tell me this but I didn't believe him until I had to taste it. It was so cardboardy and gross he came home nauseous one day because of it. he also got food poisoning from the fruit there. even when my son graduated I was sad because he couldn't complete school in one sitting or school for that matter. They bullied my grandson for not having a father after he passed due to cancer a few years back. When we went to the principals, all they said was "ok we will take care of it" as if I was trash talking to them. When I took him to school the next day, he asked me, "grandpa?" "Will those kids bully me again today?" I couldn't answer him so I just told him that everything was going to be okay. Then a few hours later, I get a call from Ms. Baca saying that its my son's fault and he is the one laughing at him and his teachers hate him so I drove to the school at she gives me a fake obvious smile and says, "Here is your son, he is suspended." I don't think my 7 year old son would tell someone that they don't know how to kill themselves. She even convinced me that they're teachers against him. I asked the teachers and they tell me, no, you are a great guardian and my son is a role model for others. I wish some day the district could look at these problems. read more

We were here for the 2022-2023 school year. My son is a third grader who is a kind person, and has potential to learn anything new. The first few weeks were fine. He had fun with new friends, and the playground. About 2 months later, a kid in his class told him to give him the homework answers or else he will tell the teacher that he cussed at her. Of course, my son would do what any child would do. He said no. The next day while I AM AT WORK, the principal Baca calls, telling me that my son is not doing good I had to excuse myself from work and go get him. His eyes were red and swollen, his throat was inflamed, And he was asleep in the car. When he woke up, his voice was shaky. Of course I didn't scold him, I know it wasn't his fault. I just don't want to see that happen to any kid at all. So if you want your child to love school and actually LEARN instead of stressing about the problematic kids, DON'T BRING THEM HERE. read more

We are new to AZ and my daughter (10) began school at the public school nearby. Over the first couple months we had too many concerns and frustrations so we transferred her in November to Legacy Deer Valley and couldn't be happier!! The new school is beautiful, organized and everyone was welcoming from the first meeting. It is challenging, but after the last 2 years of Covid, this structure is SO needed. I feel like my daughter is getting back on track and really thriving here. The cafeteria food is great, no complaints from her. I love the uniform policy as well - flexible and can purchase any brand. So so happy we found Legacy! read more

We have had such a wonderful experience at this school. The principal is incredibly proactive and approachable, which makes a huge difference. I always feel comfortable reaching out, and he truly listens and follows through. You can tell he cares about the students and staff and works hard to create a positive environment. My three kids love coming to school every day, and we have seen so much growth in each of them--academically, socially, and emotionally. They gave my son a closure punishment for telling the teacher that he didn't do anything because he hides under his desk because he is scared from the teacher. Now I never wrote a review, but I must for the sake and mental health of my child. He is claustrophobic and they put him a tiny room for the kids in trouble all by himself. He goes to LKC because I have to work 12 hours and they don't care, they are always on their phone, don't help him on his homework, and starve him by not giving him extra snacks. This is my son's first school year as a kindergartener and we have thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Legacy Traditional School. Miss Olson has been an amazing teacher to my son and helped tremendously with any special care my son has needed. The school also helped me complete an IEP for my son, and met with me to figure out the best resolution. I highly recommend Legacy Traditional, especially the Deer Valley location! We recently moved back to Phoenix and we really weren't impressed with the public school we were assigned to. When I saw there was a Legacy Traditional School right around the corner the choice was easy.
