I had breast cancer and the plastic surgeon, Dr. Gabriel, used an internal mesh bra that was NOT FDA approved for such use. I keep getting bounced back and forth between Compass and the plastic surgeon and in the meantime not is being done to resolve the pain. I also have CLL. I'm losing muscle mass and Dr. Cosgrove refuses to refer me to the staff dietitian so I can be placed on supplemental nutritional shakes. If I'm not referred by Friday I'm filing a com with the Washington State Medical Board. You go to Compass to stay as healthy as possible and all they want to do is make me sicker. I HATE Compass Oncology. Their schedulers suck. Customer service is non-existent. Its a horrible place. If you have good insurance, go somewhere else!!!

About a year and a half ago I was struggling with severe abdominal pain that had yet (and actually, has yet) to net a definitive diagnosis from the doctors at the HMO I then belonged to. And in the absence of a definitive diagnosis, the only treatment I received for many months was, well, loads and loads of Vicodin. While prescription painkillers are all good and well and can be lots of fun, at the time I had a job that required me to operate heavy machinery. And in general, I resented that I had to choose between being in pain all the time and being doped up all the time. So once I realized that my conventional docs weren't going to magically call me up one day with a real diagnosis and its real solution, I started researching ways to treat chronic pain. I'd had acupuncture once before, while researching an article about it (and dealing with carpal tunnels' syndrome), and I decided it was time to look into it again. I found Sabine while searching for acupuncturists in the Northeast quadrant, and started getting treatments from her regularly over the next few months -- with both acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbs. Sabine is a very easygoing and approachable person, someone I could easily talk to about the physical and emotional difficulties I was having at the time. She does a good job creating a relaxing environment, checking in with patients frequently and adjusting herb formulas when they don't seem to be doing the trick. I immediately saw an increase in my energy levels and reduced pain. Over time, I became unable financially to continue to get treatments on a regular basis. (My treatments were about $50 a pop, plus roughly $15-20 for herbs.) Sabine does volunteer at a sliding-scale clinic in Southeast, but as the pain decreased I became able to manage the pain (caused apparently by a digestive disorder) better on my own, with diet and exercise. Still, I don't think I would have gotten to that point if I had not had these treatments on a regular basis.

I was never told I fractured my spine the last time???? I was told I was going to be intubated because the dr thought I was lying. Wouldn't even enter the idea of an injury of my back. Just an xray to check the heart.. I was told if I was given an oxy and I was fine then they are sending me home. She thought I was drug seeking. I work In healthcare so I know the BS. I want a copy of that nights chart note. Because maybe that's why it took them HOURS to get back to me about what my results were yesterday. And the never did get back to me. " not pneumonia. It's a reinjury of your broken back that no one here ever treated the 1rst time? I was getting my own results in real time as I was waiting for over 2.5 hours to be told my results. . I want and admin to call me and I want a copy of my chart notes for the last 2 times. This may become a legal issue. Prior yelp for you to compare too. I would like a rep to reach out to me. It takes months to get a primary care appt, it takes up to a year to get a specialist…read morereferral(which can be cancelled so you have to wait another year). If you are Hospitalized (although the hospital care seems good) forget about after care after discharge. It seems like since the OHSU buyout of Portland Adventist medical care has gone downhill. I understand that with the merger of these medical care communities things can get backed up and crowded, but I only have this one life. Do I want to wait for these people to get organized?

Almost 20 years ago, I woke up with my eye swollen like I'd been punched by a prizefighter, nonstop…read moretears flowing out, and pain like I had never known in my life. Working at OHSU at the time, I headed on up to the ER. After looking at all the options, it was decided that I had an eye inflammation, and I was sent to visit Dr. Rosenbaum over at Casey Eye Institute, and that referral saved my vision. After visiting with Dr. Rosenbaum and receiving treatment for the inflammation that nearly scarred by pupil shut for several months, I also found out that the eye inflammation was the telltale sign of a form of arthritis called ankylosing spondylitis and that it had been passed down through my family through several generations. All is well today. My vision is spot on, thankfully, and I've learned to deal with my form of arthritis. I was extremely lucky to be able to have Dr. Rosenbaum as my physician at the time. Besides being a true expert in the field, he's also got a fine sense of humor and quiet reassuring manner. I recommend him wholeheartedly.

My 12 year old Daughter could have died because of Casey Eye. 8/24 her eye Dr found issue & sent…read morethem a referral they never called. 8/28 Dr sent 2nd referral they still never called. 9/2 she was referred to different clinic. 9/4 she was seen & sent to ER for MRI & spinal tap. The next morning she had emergency brain surgery. I called office manager Jennifer N she told me I should worry about kid's health not who dropped ball. That is the most disrespectful thing to say to a Mom in this situation. I asked her to have her boss Diane call me she didn't. I called & left message for Diane she still hasn't called. Kelly a patient advocate contacted me. She didn't have her facts right. She said it takes weeks to schedule new patient appointment this is unacceptable. I made comment about coming up there she said I have no business there. I asked her to have boss call me she didn't. I called & left message for boss & still no call. I tried to contact through Facebook, my comments were deleted & I'm blocked from leaving more. I will never go to any OHSU facility. I'd still be waiting for an appointment & my Daughter could be dead.
