On October 6, 2025, Sherri and I obtained our residency cards, yay! We hired Legally in Mexico, and I wanted to share our experience with them.
Milly gave us very detailed instructions on what we needed, when to be there, and specifically, how to get there. We met at her office as instructed.
We met with one of her associates, and she walked me through all the forms to sign. She then proceeded to explain the process, exactly what will happen, and what I need to do. She handed me a folder and proceeded to give me these instructions:
1) Walk in, turn to the table on my left. Sign my name, take a seat, and wait for them to call your name.
2) When you approach the immigration officer. Hand them this folder. You may say hello, but do not strike up a conversation with them. You can answer their questions, but if you don't know the answer or if they ask you about an attorney, raise your hand. I will be watching through the window, and I will be there to assist you.
3) She then held up a "Nut" form. She said they will ask you to print and sign your name here.
4) They will then ask for payment. She wrote the payment amount down and told me to verify the correct amount before I pay. They will have you sign the receipt and tell you to go wait outside. But don't wait outside, come back here, and I will walk you back.
So, here I am waiting for my turn. I watch a person going through the process and the immigration officer holds up a green piece of paper...he didn't have it. His immigration attorney or manager was frantically looking for it. I then watch him run across the street to a Print/Copy place. Now, being the skeptic I am, I start looking through my folder for this green piece of paper....I don't have it either...I then notice another couple was directed to go across the street...My name is called...oh boy....my nerves kick in because I don't have a green piece of paper.
I get to the counter, hand the officer the folder, and watch as she's going through the paperwork...She gets to the end...no green piece of paper...The officer then grabs a piece of paper, and I hear those magical words "print and sign your name here...it was the "Nut" form! I look out the window, and there she is, watching me the whole time! I made the payment and was told to go wait outside.
I wanted to share this with you because I had asked Sherri if we should look at other agencies... Is the price in line, etc? Sherri basically told me to stop! You need to trust her, she knows what she's doing.... our realtor wouldn't have recommended her if she didn't...Well, as they say in Texas...All of y'all were right!
Milly and her team know exactly what they are doing, and they do it very well! After watching so many people having to go across the street for forms, etc. tells me they didn't hire the right people. We did! They are professionals and are worth every single peso!
We are now "Legally in Mexico".
