They put our 3 dogs at ease and my 6 year old granddaughter said of one of them "that guy is really good to talk to and I like his voice"! I wish I remembered his name. He also gave my husband a few pointers on another way to remove water from our flooding basement. We now have a plumber we know we can rely on if the need arises again!

Trombly Plumbing when good enough is too much trouble…read more I had them do three things for me, though I should have caught on the first time. First was to run a heat duct up to the second floor. To do this they had to cut a hole in the floor. I agreed, but I asked the duct be installed far enough way from the wall with the window, it was in a corner, so I could box it in and make it look nice. They finished and I was not happy with the results. First, it was not the distance away I requested, I gave measurements. Second, it was at an angle so I had to build a bigger box than should have been necessary. Finally, they had cut a large round hole, abandoned that idea and then cut a larger oval hole than was needed. This is the original flooring from the 19th century. I had to build a base around the bottom of the box to hide the holes in the floor. Second try. I have a pantry that used to be a small 1/2 bath. I had them turn it back into a bathroom. This part of the house doesn't get good heat so I needed a solution to keep the pipes from freezing. Their only solution was shut off valves for when the temperature was too cold. The pipes run under the house in a crawl space. I talked to them about other solutions. They told me this was the only thing that could be done. I went ahead with it. I found out there were several other solutions. After everything was done it looked OK, until. One day I was leaning against the sink and it suddenly let go from the wall. It didn't come out completely, but was now at a slight angle and it is loose, you can give it a little wiggle. I asked them to come fix it. They said it was not anchored into a stud because there weren't any in that area. They never told me. I checked around and there are simple solutions. Finally, I had them fix an emergency. Every time someone used the plumbing the sewage would pour out onto the basement floor. They came out right away. They told me before they could start I would have to have it professionally cleaned. I did. They proceeded to cut the old sewer pipe out only to have sewage splash all over the basement. They did fix the pipe, but I asked them to pay for it to be cleaned. They refused. They said the pipe was blocked and nobody could have known. Well, a plumber would have known that if sewage isn't draining there's probably a clog. Don't use Trombly! You have been warned!

My husband attempted to dig a trench in order to set piers for a deck. Tory came to our rescue.....he found that a broken well pipe was causing the excessive ground water. He fixed it, did a fantastic job digging out around the foundation, re-routing the drainage and basically saving our home from major water damage. Additionally, he removed the failed piers that we poured and replaced them with engineered piers for our deck. The whole job ended up being more work than he or I had expected but he was incredibly supportive, positive and a pleasure to work with. Just give you a total number for the product and the installation, No details of how much sq. footage you purchased, what the per sq foot cost is, or what the cost of the installation is - just a total. I spent a lot of money here on floors, which they still have not come back to finish installing, but will never give them my business again. Looking for countertops, but will go elsewhere for sure.

My partner put an ad on CL to see what was out there and was contacted by Jim, of Great Bear Renewable Energy. Jim said that he had a reconditioned wood stove that was still under warranty and he could do a full install that would meet all requirements and sell us a mantle for the new stove. We were completely happy with his price, bought the stove, sight unseen, where going to buy a mantle from him. We built a new hearth, had the fireplace cleaned, scheduled his inspection visit and we gave him a 50% deposit on the spot. He scheduled one install day and then had to reschedule. We confirmed the new date and checked in to confirm it again as it got closer (because we are facing November now and had already had one date go bad). He seemed like a nice enough guy when he came for the inspection and we were really excited about the stove. Out of the blue we get a check for a full refund of the stove with no explanation whatsoever. We call/email and ask why and get a message that my partner is a 'details guy' and so Jim doesn't think we'd be a 'good fit.' WHAT?!? If by "details guy" he means - we pay for a service, on time, as requested, and so we like to know that we are going to receive the service as promised - then, yes, he is a 'details guy'. When did this become a bad thing? We didn't hold back payment, we didn't demand to see the stove in person before we bought it, he is the one who replied to our query on CL - and then he rejects our business with a thoroughly questionable excuse? Can't recommend anyone do business with this Great Bear Renewable Energy. Now we are facing November, no wood stove and no chance of getting a good price on one until next summer when the winter season is over. Thanks for nothing.
