Becca consistently failed to show up (calling in sick or "unavailable") & in her recent absence, recommended their new-hire cut my hair. He is clearly unequipped to cut anyone's hair; I'm fact, he was so bad that I nearly told his next walk-in customer to rethink sitting in the new-hire's chair. First, he handled his clippers as if I am his first ever haircut. Second, he literally asked for "help" barely 2-min into clipping my hair. Third, he asked for "help" again as if he has never cut hair in his life. Finally, it took him 47 min (for a 20-min "easy" cut)! Instead of personally critiquing (even politely offering unsolicited feedback to the new-hire & legitimately risk destroying any professional confidence), I chose to inform my *regular* weekly (trusted) barber of the new-hire's extremely I'll-equipped ability to cut hair. It was up to the new-hire's boss (presumably AJ) and his colleague to personally address his new-hire's lack of talent & "Coach" him! Like I asked my former barber, "has the new-hire 1) ever cut hair before; & 2) has he been to any training"? I cannot believe their new-hire is allowed to cut anyone's hair! Today (May 10th), my *former* barber Becca cancels all remaining appointments. Moreover, I call the shop to speak with the owner (presumably AJ) & begin to inform him of his employee's cancellation of weekly services & his / their unprofessional behavior to his shop's detriment. He immediately drops his professional facade & begins talking over me, defending his new-hire & asserting that I should've given his new-hire immediate feedback. It was as if I visited a training academy for discounted services! My hair cut should've been free, given his new-hire was effectively training on my head. The owner should've accepted my candid feedback - w/out talking over me - & maintained his professional facade. The worst service I have ever experienced at any barbershop (as a retired Veteran)! I assume that's why AJs has a) lost 2 barbers the past 12 months & b) been unable to attract talent. I'd give him NEGATIVE "stars" if possible. P.S. during the pandemic, I proactively reached out to a former barber (of 10 years) & hired him to cut me & my son's hair (for 5 xs the market cost) solely to help him out amid slow economic times. That's how much I care(d) about my barbers well-being; & how I show my sincere appreciation for excellent service & great attitude.
