I've bought a number of party dresses from this particular shop. They have a super window display, so the dresses really catch your eye and you have no choice but to go in an look further. The dresses I have have been on average £100 each, and all worth every penny. This shop is always clean, tidy and well layed out in logical sections so you can find what you are looking for. The Autumn collection is lovely so i just need ot save up a few pounds to go and indulge myself.

This is the place that we used for the menswear for our wedding and the service was exceptionally professional. the staff were friendly and listened to what we were looking for and helped us find exactly what we needed. Measurements were taken accurately and staff were even good at dealing with our son, who was only 2 at the time and had to be fitted for a little suit! Not too far a hike from the main Central station, station bus stops and the metro station - it is a little more awkward when coming by car as there is only on street parking.

It is located near the centre of town just next to Monument Metro station and just down the road from Blackett Street bus stop, so it is well linked to public transport. The store itself has a lovely range of higher end high street fashion which has more of a classic feel than high fashion. The clothing is often something that you might see at a garden party(!) and is ideal for something for a wedding or special occasion. This branch stock a small range of bridal wear, which is very good value for money. The evening dresses stocked at this branch are lovely and the quality of the items are lovely however the prices are quite high. There are only a few changing rooms, and because of the narrow layout of the store, it can get quite crowded at peak periods.

Dorothy Perkins are one of my favourite ladieswear shops! They are part of the Arcadia group…read more(Topshop, Miss S, Evans, Burtons) and they cater for most shapes and sizes. As well as their standard ladies range which goes up to a size 24, they have a range for petite, tall and maternity. The South shields branch is quite small compared to some branches, however, because it is just a small town branch they often have very good sales. They also offer 10% student discount if you have an NUS card so it is great if you are on a tight budget. It is worth noting that DP also have special promotional events whereby they offer 20% off everything in store so if you are looking to buy a lot of items in one go, it is worth waiting for one of these events! Great shop for all your essentials like jumpers and tops for layering, but also you can pick up some nice unique party wear and jewellry.

There are changing rooms, although these are small in number and hidden at the back of the store. The staff are quite polite and all wear the chain's clothing range. The type of clothing featured in the shop is predominantly smart to evening wear. Ideal outfits for a special occasion or a wedding, they sell a beautiful range of quality dresses and skirt/top combos. They have a particularly good range of corset type tops and prom style dresses. They have a smaller range of smart casual clothing, tailored trousers and skirts and smart tops and shirts. Definitely not something for everyday wear, as the prices are quite high for a high street chain, but for the quality of the items, for a special occasion, or if you have the money to spare, they are well worth it.

Topman is on the floor above. This Topshop always stocks all the latest trends as well as jewellery, shoes and accessories. They also stock connection trends of Topshop such as Deeryme and Traffic People. The staff are really helpful and friendly and the queue at the till is never too long. They offer student discount which helps with the price.

I love the clothes in Top Shop, but they are rather over priced and they do not have sales particularly often.
