A little bit of everything. Very very good sauerkraut! Great produce selection, ample parking, decent ice cream selection.

Now I haven't been attending it 61 years..lol....but I have for 5 years or so! The festival is sponsored by the community and everyone pitches in to help! They have people making apple butter, quilting, sheep shearing, candle dipping, maple syrup making, broom making, etc. The churches has food for sale-loaves and loaves of fresh hot bread, apple butter, sour kraut, kettle corn then in cafeteria hot (real) pancakes/maple syrup, summer sausage, rich cottage cheese, many fresh pie slices, coffee, etc. outside of the barn (where most of the crafters are) has working farm demonstrations for the public. Nice festival and tradition to visit!

Follow the small directional signs from Route 40. Arrive early and enjoy breakfast in the pavilion, typically prepared and served by students at the local Mennonite school. Pancakes are $.75, toast is $.50, two kielbasa-type sausages are $1.25. Three of us can eat a hearty breakfast for $8, and you'll sit at picnic tables with the locals. One of our favorite traditions! They also serve lunch items - chili dogs and burgers. Walk around the grounds to see 60+ local farmers with produce that deepens as the summer goes on. Our favorite are peaches ($4 for a half-peck -- unreal!) sold at the first stand on the left as you walk up towards the pavilion. You'll find anything and everything fresh that you can imagine -- tomatoes, corn, melons, peppers, squash, berries and greens. Inside the pavilion, and on the other side from the breakfast stand, are all sorts of baked goods. Look for the line of folks at the donut stand -- giant and delicious homemade glazed donuts. Take home a half-dozen for $3.75 (also sold by the dozen or as singles). You'll also find pies, breads and wonderful baked treats. A sweet-tooth's paradise! Throughout the pavilion and outside, you'll see craftsmen, quilters, artists, and flea market stands. The Springs Folk Festival is the like the Saturday market multiplied -- so many vendors, artists and more. It's held in early October, at the conclusion of the farmers market Saturdays. Parking is plentiful in a big field.

The vendors for a smaller market, were abundant, fresh pasta, mead, veggies, produce, pizza, honey, goat products, and a few bakery items. Huge compliments out to the organizers, it was amazing to have someone welcome you, and thank you, as you left the market. All vendors were friendly, whose stands that I visited and helpful. The gentleman that sold the Goat products, I do hope in the future to buy; as he was kind enough to call to find out stores in Altoona that sold their product. Highly recommend, Crumbkowski, Christina who is the pastry chef and owner, had an amazing set up, allowing customers to sample little pieces, buy whole squares, in addition to cookies and muffins. The Amish stand that had homemade potato chips, were out of this world; I'm sorry I didn't buy more to freeze. Great atmosphere and hope to return next time in town. Sorry didn't take pictures of my purchases.

When in season the corn on the cob is plentiful and offered by a number of venders. Te same is true if the tomatoes, cellery and other vegetables. In addition the market offers baked goods and meats. In a very short time from opening the baked goods are in short supply. If you love fresh vegetables you will not be disappointed with this event.
