Leisuretime deal in holidays and day trips travelling by coach but beware I have only travelled with these people three times and each time something has gone wrong!!Twice the coach has broken down, leaving us stranded in a motorway services for hours and once we stayed in a hotel in Torquay that was appalling(think fawlty towers).I have spoken to other people and this tends to be the norm!!I am sure some people love travelling with Leisuretime but I am not one of them. read more

This year as in previous years I have really enjoyed the holidays provided by Leisuretime. My only negative comment would be is that rarely does the pickup coach arrive on the time given. My experience so far in Feb/March has been 1/2 hr and 3/4 hr late, waiting on a cold drafty bus stop (Cheapside, Bridgend) with no shelter to speak of. This start of an holiday detracts from the overall experience and I hope something can be done about this in the future. Otherwise I am pleased by the level of service experienced. read more

We have just returned from A trip to windsor and Blackbushe market. Driver was lovely but the hotel EUROPA GATWICK was terrible. From the outside the hotel looked lovely but when you got inside it was a different story. Wall paper peeling off the walls , curtains and nets were filthy . Wardrobe good job it was only 1 night so we didnt haveto unpack as such as the door were off the roller ( so we thought) but when we looked there were no rollers!!! .Food now where shall i start , evening meal was tepid but i suppose edible , breakfast was cold unorganized and staff were NOT HELPFUL at all. Would never stay in that hotel again would rather sleep on the bus. Leisuretime should stop using that hotel it won't do them any favours. read more

Just got back from the isle of wight with Leisure time, Stayed in the Marina bay Hotel on arrival no one to help with cases, When I got to my case it was soaking wet,,and some of my clothes was badly stained so i had to wash them,,The room was what you get in a cheap hotel very small and bathroom, The towels was not changed for the 5 days we stayed there,,On a good side the food was good with a choice each meal, also if you are a drinker the drinks for 2 hours at night was just £1,,Leisure time holidays are cheaper than most bus companies so that,s what you get,,would I go with leisure time again YES,,, read more

I book with Leisuretime at least once a month, it is my retirement treat to myself, I have always had good service, and have been travelling with them for over 5 years now, the staff are always helpful, and pleasant, and the holidays have always been excellent value for money, clean , well run hotels, and excellent coaches and drivers, especially if they use Thomas of Rhondda coaches, wonderful legroom in those and mostly new coaches, I know all the drivers [having travelled with them for at least 3 years], and they are funny, confident men who help you get the most out of your Leisuretime holiday, I can t praise this company enough, I have really enjoyed myself , since retiring and been to excellent holiday destinations, the hotel in Lille is a 4 star, and one of the best that I have ever stayed in, you can t fault Leisuretime or their understanding kind staff, [one in particular, Liz King] is extremely helpful at all times, thank you all for making my life so happy, Leisuretime, and Thomas of Rhondda, Rosemary Cole, Llanelli. read more

I just comeback from three day xmas market tour, cirencester, Burton on the water then on to birmingham where we stayed for two nights in the holiday express inn in birmingham. last day travelling back to wales we called into cheltenham. All for £109!! Bus was late picking us up but snow was on the ground and the driver was full of apologies. He informed us of our pick ups and itinery for the weekend. He was quite chatty. On the first day we had 2-3 hours in the above towns, enjoyed but one would have been ample and we could have stayed longer sampling the mulled wine! Arrived in Brum approx 5.30pm, hotel was basic but reasonably smart, rooms were lovely, very comfy bed. Lots werent happy with the choice of food but i thought was value for what we had paid! Yes basic, but if you want a 5star meal, go to a 5star hotel!!driver took us into brum the next day 9.30-picked us up at 4.30pm. We went to xmas market/bull ring and manged to sample the mulled wine whenever possible. Next day was cheltenham, again driver looked after us, we has enough time to vist shops and grab a bite to eat!! Then returned home. All in all good value, I was wary because I had read reviews on leisuretime, not top notch but well worth the money. This trip is a shoppers dream but men beware, if you dontl like shopping, stay home!! read more

My mother is on a trip in Scotland and travelling back, they are stuck on the M74 since 14.00hrs and have not moved, my mother has spoken to a person at leisure time by the name of Abbie and she has kindly informed them that if any of the passengers get off the coach they will be left behind if the coach moves, bear in mind that the coach is on the motorway and has been at a standstill since 14.00 and it's now midnight and the toilet isn't working there are elderly people on the bus who are cold due to freezing conditions no attempt has been made by leisure time to help or supply any food or hot drinks, all that he driver is concerned about is that his driving hours are going to run out, Abbie also informed them that leisure time would supply accommodation once they get moving but the driver has told the coach that this is not the case, bearing in mind that at 23.00 hours the drivers hours have run out so ideally he can't move the bus. I spoke with Abbie who was rather offensive when i asked for the Directors name who she informed me he had been in touch with the Police, i asked Abbie for his name to check but she point blank refused to share his name, hmm thought it was law that every company had to offer the managers name!! Thanks Leisure time for caring!!!! read more

Just came back from Great Yarmouth and the Norfolk Broad Monday to Friday Trip.- Booked with LEISURETIME! We had a great time and were looked after very well by our driver Alan and the staff and management at the Royal Hotel.( we had a good feeling about the hotel from the time the assistant manager came onto the bus with information about the hotel and stay -prior to us going to our rooms) The food was excellent throughout our stay and staff were very attentive to our needs and the rest of the people on our coach who stayed. The evening entertainment was at a very leisurely pace and disapointing that only about 24 of the 36 who travelled did take part? - their loss! The trips were very enjoyable and gave us alot of time to browse and shop-the Norfolk Broads trip is a must! The night to the theatre to see "SUMMER LAUGHTER SHOW" was excellent value at £14 especially with the table service -very entertaining. We had no problems throughout our stay and fopnd it a very relaxing holiday! The only downside was the length of the journey to and from Newport to Great Yarmouth of 7 to 8 hours - but you have to realise the distance and the awkwardness of getting there -planty of stops. We would recomend this to anyone read more

just had a 5 day tour to cotswolds and oxford went to some nice places but woodstock and oxford should be scrapped from this tour sorry, i just found them boring! On the whole it wasa very nice break and though the quality hotel coventry was comfy and serves a good breakfast the evening meal is very bland and only 2 choices either chicken and fish with the same veg every night. The bar area would be better if the chairs were changed from huge too soft settees which are hard for the elderly to get up from to ordinary bar chairs and tables enabling more room especially when there are 2 coach tours staying at the same time. This however is not leisuretimes fault. Our driver was amazing he talked all the time made everything clear and was exceptional with the elderly nothing was too much trouble for him. however we learnt he is not a leisuretime driver normally, which is a shame for leisuretime but he made the holiday a little more special. This was my forth break with this company and they have all been well planned and very good value for money. Ive already started looking for my fifth but cant make up my mind there is alot of choice! read more

We have used Leisuretime several times for trips abroad and have always found them very professional and efficient. Our latest trip was to Amsterdam for five days. We stayed on the outskirts in a lovely town called Monnickendam which was very convenient as we were only about 20 mins into the centre of Amsterdam. This meant we were back at the hotel in the evening with plenty of time to change and have a pre dinner drink in the bar which made it much more relaxing. Our drivers, Clive and "Tonto" (who we have been with before) were brilliant and obviously had a good knowledge of the area and used really convenient drop-off points throughout the trip. They also gave us useful tips of where to eat and drink during the holiday and we were glad we followed their advice on more than one occasion. This holiday was fantastic value for money as we had a free bar every night 8pm - 11.30pm and that was with Bed and Breakfast and an evening meal. Our group of six thoroughly enjoyed this trip and wouldn't hesitate in booking with Leisuretime again. In fact we have already booked for Christmas in Lake Garda! read more

7 of us have just had a 3 day holiday with Leisuretime to celebrate my Birthday. We had a wonderful weekend and the value for money was great. We paid £99 and stayed in the Sandringham Hotel Weston super Mare for 2 nights. The hotel was excellent with really friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us. They were as happy at breakfast as they were in the evening. They obviously liked working there. Its' an old hotel but spotless, our rooms were clean and the en-suite bathrooms excellent. We went to Wells on the 2nd day and Bath before we left on the Sunday. Weston is a great place for a family holiday and the renovated Grand Pier is good fun. It took me back to my childhood. Meals were good and there was a free bar from 7.30-10.30 and even entertainment on both nights. I just can't fault this weekend away ,I don't know how they do it. Our driver Caroline was so efficient. She had our bags loaded onto the coach in double quick time so no time was wasted. She was an excellent driver, we all felt safe and comfortable with her at the wheel. Well done Leisuretime, we will certainly be booking with you again. read more

Sept 7th 2012. Leisure time / A&B Travel, Cardiff. Long weekend to Blackpool and the Lake district absolute nightmare, from the moment we got on the coach it became a mystery tour, nearly ending up on a housing estate and then in Cardiff Gate retail park. Driver could speak little English (or pretended not to understand). 9 hours !! to get 5 miles from Blackpool from Sarn Park, Bridgend. Driver got lost on our 51/2 hours round trip to the lake District, only drove pass Windermere and didn't stop !! , 50 minute stop at Hawkshead although there's no Lake there ! 71/2 hour return. Stayed at Georgian Hollies Hotel, Blackpool. NOT recommended for the elderly, lift is available but stairs are steep and uneven. Food acceptable (just). Peeling paper on dining room ceiling, Bed: Top half of double divan looks like it had collapsed (no not us!!) Black mould on shower tile grout and seal. At this moment I can't write anymore, Still tired & angry ! In a nutshell stay away from Leisure Time, Cardiff & The Georgian Hollies Hotel. When I recover I may add to this review at a later date. read more

Have just returned from Great Yarmouth. The coach driver hardly spoke to us the whole 5 days and didn't help the elderly with walking sticks in getting off, on the bus. The hotel The Prince was in a good location but the standard was very poor. The rooms needed a total refurb. They were small with a view of the trash bins. The bathroom was tiny with a very erratic shower and the extractory fan was broken(there was no window) and the wash basin was in the room. There was no hair drier just 2 small tablets of soap and no remote control for the ancient TV. It was however clean and had lovely fluffy white towels. The food was generally poor. There were no fresh vegetables as shown on the menu and for the meat pie meal everything including the meat was from a tin! Dinner time was 17.30 Some days we only got back after this time! The waitress Liz was exceptionally helpful and always had a smile. On the return journey the AC broke down on the bus. We were glad to get home several hours later than we had been informed. read more

Leisuretime is by far the best. The value you get is unbelievable. I can't work out how they can do holidays for the prices that they do. I have never has a bad hotel or coach yey and I've been lots on times. There is the occasional hiccup but I have paid a lots more with other companies and had the same thing - just things like road delays or bad weather which no one can help (NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY!). Any minor points are sorted out really quickly. I think the staff are great too and freindly. You need to go in to one of the shops (in St Davids Centre and on by the bus station in Cardiff and I think they have them in Bridgend and Barry now too). They have lots and lots of differnt trips. I have seen the special offers in the local newspapers too. Lots of people I speak to go many times in the year beacuse the prices are so good. Keep it up Leisuretime - you changed my life. Poor, poor company. We did go on a holiday with Leisuretime last year and had the best time ever. It was great value for money and we had so much fun. Therefore, we decided to book this year as well. We booked the same trip, same date but the following year. It got cancelled due to low numbers, so we switched to another trip. That got cancelled. We switched to another trip. That got cancelled. I think you get the idea. We booked four times, all different dates, and they got cancelled four times. What was supposed to be celebrating our anniversary in February, we were being told in May that our last holiday we had booked to (28th May) was now being cancelled also. Terrible company. Cannot fill their coaches, so therefore they cancel holidays. Waste of our time, money and work holidays because they had to be changed all the time. Never again go with Edwards, reliability for certain. read more

I have not travelled with this company and I do not normally review but felt I had to say how appalling the customer service was I experienced today. Cancelled a two day trip to Banbury less than 24 hours after initial booking as the unspecified hotel turned out to be the Britannia Coventry which looked absolutely dreadful and I was hard pushed to find a positive review. I had to pay 50% of the entire cost of the weekend, despite explaining that the hotel looked more like a star rather than **star and my mother who has mobility issues could not stay at a hotel without working lifts but to no avail. I also asked whether we could simply swap to another two day trip to Oxford departing the same date and the identical price but this suggestion was refused. Would not recommend this firm to anyone, use Edwards instead. read more

four of us went on a santa seaside mystery with leisure time from 23rd dec for 5 day,s we stayed at the heatherleigh hotel in eastbourne, were dissapointed right from arrival freezing cold room,s water and food was also cold for duratoin of stay, seem,s like another of leisure time hotel,s we can call faulty tower,s we did not expect five star accomodation for the price we paid, but we did expect the normal everyday thing,s like hot water ,hot food, ect. if this is the type of hotel,s leisure time provide, we will not be travelling with the company again in a hurry. read more

We have just booked another 3 trips with Leisuretime for this year. We have been on 2 since january already. There is lots fot choose from and the hotels are always close to everything (we've been on some with other companies and the hotels are out of town so you can't walk to the bars and shops). The coaches and drivers have always been great. You need to go to their shops where they have leaflets and brochures on all of the holidays. Tell your friends. The more people go, the more trips Leisuretime will put on. read more

Just come back from Dutch Bulbfields and got to say it was fabulous, the driver of the coach was brilliant, the coach itself was brand new nice and comfy., the hotel was clean and tidy, the food was lovely and plenty of it. The trip to the bulb field was brilliant and a must for people who love gardens and flowers. The two trips on the Sunday to Blankenburg and Sluice were lovely, both really pretty little towns. Cant wait to go on my next trip with Leisuretime. Would recommend them to anyone. read more

Leisuretime is fantastic value for money! I was hesitant at first about doing a holiday by coach but my partner and I absolutely loved our trip to Lake Garda last year. The service was amazing, everyone was so friendly, the driver was very comical and the hotel was superb! Lake Garda was gorgeous, I have already recommended the trip to friends and family. I will definitely be returning to leisuretime for any future holiday :) read more

I have travelled twice with this company i. In august to the Rhine valley and December to Scotland. Both breaks were excellent value. One fault we had on the December trip was the driver who was completely unprofesional . Of course the company hires in coaches and therefore do not have control over the drivers. I'm booking again with them. read more
