Quick note up front: Leland covers a large DFW area, so don't be deterred by the location being in Grandview (not Granbury, but Grandview). The built my shed in The Colony area. When I decided to get a shed for the backyard, I knew very little about them. I just knew I wanted a metal building, since wood doesn't last forever and requires a lot of upkeep. I went to Lowes and found a reasonable little some-assembly-required metal shed for about $300. Cool. Then I did a little more research. Leland came up as one the shed / cabin / outbuildings manufacturers that got a LOT of great reviews. So I went and visited their Denton sales location. I told the salesman I wanted metal over wood. It seemed that was a common sentiment, and he set to work on selling me on their "super wood," the LP SmartPanel (or SmartSide Panel Siding) engineered wood product. The entire shed has a 5-year warranty, which I think is very good. The LP SmartPanel itself has a 50-year warranty (you read right), so if a board deteriorates at, say, year 9, the company will give you a new board. This is apparently pretty high-tech stuff. Check out their website for more details and even a video on "NASA Evaluation Finds LP® SmartSide® Siding More Impact Damage-Resistant Than Fiber Cement Siding." If I would have gone with a more basic metal building, it would have rusted out well before 50 years - and/or required a lot more maintenance. I picked an 8' x 10' utility shed, wood interior with LP SmartPanel exterior. The total cost ended up being right at $2,000, before tax. I opted for the on-site build because my fenced-in yard prohibited delivery of a built shed. The on-site build takes a while to schedule, as they crank these things out at the manufacturer but have limited on-site crews (only one, maybe??). So it took just over a month from when I signed my contract to when my shed was built on site. Rain can also delay on-site builds, and it did in my case. FYI. Also, when I say "manufacturer," I mean Leland in Grandview. They do build their own sheds. The crew arrived on time and were friendly. They were also experienced, efficient, and just down-right FAST. It took about 3 hours to build my shed, and it was impressive to watch. Basically no breaks except for quick drinks of water. They worked the whole time. They didn't mind my questions or general presence during the build, either - or they did a nice job of not showing their annoyance. :) See pictures to get an idea of how the shed is built. These guys were machines. Each knew his part and no one was ever tripping over the other. The shed is solid. It feels like a quality product. The outside looks stained but it's actually paint. The LP product has to be painted; it wouldn't absorb stain like normal wood. Apparently I'll never need to do anything to it, other than replace the roof / shingles at some point. I find that hard to believe, but that's the claim! The only less-than-perfect part of the whole experience was the warranty wording. It seemed generic to me - made for wood sheds only, not wood with LP Smart stuff. I voiced this, and they updated my warranty paperwork. I appreciated that. Warranty stuff also requires a serial number, and they forgot to install my serial number plate - but they mailed it to me afterward so that was also a non-issue. So! Also good issue resolution. Bottom line: I highly recommend Leland and would get another outbuilding, whatever it may be, from them in a heartbeat. I love my shed and use it all the time. read more

Had a fantastic experience during the purchasing process - we build a custom 16x34 shed that would serve as a cabin shell, and the sales person was extremely knowledgable, and also flexible (we changed our minds a few times, and had some hiccups on delivery vs build). I looked at a few other vendors, but the great communication & knowledge from Kayla brought me back to Leland's every time. The communication for the build was a bit confusing, but went pretty well overall. The build itself was fast and mostly smooth, but we did have an issue where they messed up the paint colors, and the crew was very hesitant to fixing it, though they ultimately did. Quality wise, there's some minor things (I recently discovered a few nails missed the studs and were just sticking out from the wall. But, overall, we're happy with how things turned out! read more

We were in dire need of a shed to help save the wood from our cabin since it been hit with a storm and destroyed. We try to get a shed from Leland's and it took longer than expected also we weren't able to get it out to the location due to snow because it taken as long as it did. After talking to the president's son Sam about the situation talking to corporate office a gentleman named Julian and asking for help they basically ignored our plea for help and wanted us to pay an upsell price for less. This company is absolutely not worth your time or effort it's shady they say one thing you do another I wouldn't waste my time here you could build a shed for what they're asking you to pay for one and you can get a better quality one if you did it yourself. read more

Leland built two sheds for me side-by-side. They are the Defender series with a 10 year warranty. One of the sheds leaked after less than 4 years and caused $13,000 worth of damage to the contents. The owner Ron has said several times he would get back to me after I supplied a detailed list and photos of the damaged items. I'm disappointed and frustrated with LeLand Sheds. After multiple attempts of emails and calls, so far they have refused to return my calls to make a simple fix to the shed they installed. To give some background, I paid for a she to be installed onsite, they took my final payment the when they arrived onsite. When I arrived home to inspect the install, I noticed that one of the pillars was leaning. I took a picture and sent it to the Leland office and talked with Morgan, my sales person. She assured me they would take care of the issue and it was minor. That was in November 2020, it's is now January and still have not heard from them. I cannot use the shed because I'm concerned about safety of it falling. Poor customer service. read more

I wish I had done better research before hiring this company to build a shed. It was one problem after another. I even had a crew member's wife call me to say he wouldn't be coming because no one else showed up to help him and that even if he did, the company didn't have any door hinges. When they finally did show up, they didn't bring the right metal for the roof, and told me it would be another week and a half before they could get the metal and have a crew come back...all while it is about to rain on the new structure that has not roof. If you want a lot of excuses and delays, go with this company, in my personal opinion. read more

We ordered a 24 'x 14' building from Leland's barns and sheds. When we received the building, it was 24' x 13' 1". They sold us the building as a 24 x 14. When we confronted their customer service about it, they said, "Per industry standards, our 14-foot-wide buildings are measured from eave to eave. This makes the floor base around 13' 1". We do offer the option to upgrade to a true 14' wide building in which the floor base is then 14 feet wide, but best as I can tell, that wasn't added to your order. I do apologize for any misunderstandings or miscommunication in the sales process, as I'm sure you would have liked to know about the exact size before the building arrived." So, they pointed the finger at the salesperson but, we were NEVER told anything about the true measurements or, that we had the option of "upgrading" to a true 14 feet. If you advertise it as 14 feet wide, it should be 14 feet wide. Since it was on the paperwork as a 24 x 14 we thought we were getting a 14 foot wide building. The company doesn't want to do anything to make it right and just pointed blame and glossed everything over thanking us for our feedback. It wasn't feedback, it was a valid complaint that we were shorted square footage and essentially ripped off. If their salespeople aren't properly trained it shouldn't affect the customer. They bait and switched a 14 foot wide building for a 13 foot wide building, and they call this their "industry standard." We paid for a 24 x 14 building and got a 24 x 13. That's 24 square feet that we paid for but did not receive. The company should be making this right and they obviously have no intention of doing so. If this is the industry standard, god help the industry and buyer beware. read more

I needed a large shed with overhead storage, and Leland's had what I needed. I chose them because I was impressed with the quality of materials they use. They told me that since I needed my shed to be built on site it would be 4-6 weeks before they could deliver. Then they called less than a week later and told me they had a cancellation and could be out in a couple of days! Their crew was very good, did an excellent job and cleaned up everything before they left. BEWARE THEY STEAL MONEY FROM DISABLED VETERANS! We placed an order for a building with this company. First we spoke to someone and we couldn't meet at a price. Then we spoke to Aaron Jordan. We put a deposit down so we could get the process rolling. He said three weeks. My husband is a Disabled Veteran and we needed to hire someone to remove the fence, so at two weeks we emailed to get an update on the status. We didn't hear anything. So a few days pass and my husband sends another email. Nothing. He found their chat option on the site and someone said Aaron was sitting there and he would relay the message about my husband needing to get someone to take the fence down. The guy was rude about the whole inquiry so my husband said we didn't want the building anymore. We are the customer and don't want to pay people who are rude. What if there is a warranty issue later down the road, we sure don't want to have people who are rude on top of an issue. I reached out to Aaron (I forgot I had his phone number, since we had txted about the building details) I asked let him know we would like a refund since we hadn't received a product. Nothing. We bought a Leland greenhouse. They were patient with my time frame, as I cleared area myself. Got the greenhouse, was quite beautiful, but as I was moving plants in, realized the wooden floor was more of a deck. I called the sales guy ( who is great ) and told him the whole purpose to a greenhouse was to be an airtight building, safe for winterizing tropicals. He put in a work order to Leland, but I haven't heard from them. Really a let down. I've been wanting a greenhouse for years. Getting too old to be moving heavy plants inside every season. Now I get to move them back out, providing they ever get back to me. So disappointed. read more

We have had our 12x30 Cabinette for 3weeks and have made several request for repairs plus our bldg was delivered with no screens, which had been removed sometime from the time we purchased the building to delivery. Our door needs replaced, porch railing is wobbly, window lock broke first time we unlocked the window, we have siding issues and we just received the touch up paint which was also missing when delivered which took 3 weeks to arrive. We have called about our building issues and have been told a technician from Temple, Texas will come out to resolve all of our issues. It has been 3 weeks and nothing except the touch-up paint has been resolved. I am missing the beautiful cool Spring mornings and evenings because I have no screens to keep the bugs out. The website exudes how customer service is their priority; well I have not seen any customer service results from our service requests.
