    Pad Thai
    Stephen M.

There were about 20 in the restaurant and no wait at the door. Ambiance was good, food was timely, good portion, good price, staff was friendly. I would consider again. I added a picture of Pad Thai. I asked for medium heat and it was about right.

Lemongrass is a nice spot on the corner with affordable Thai food and sushi. I typically get the pad Thai or curry and both have super bold flavors. The service has always been hit or miss, but it is a great place to hangout with friends at UVA.

A quick dinner trip from Washington DC area to Charlottesville to try Silly's favorite restaurant food. And it did not disappoint! We ordered lemongrass chicken (because, duh!) and it was a perfect combination of well cooked chicken in a savory and spicy sauce! They recently started serving sushi which was okay; would probably recommend some other restaurant if you're looking for sushi. As fast as the ambience is concerned, it's a small with limited seating and a very young staff. you might want to consider ordering carryout because this place is usually full and parking is not free on-site. Paid parking is available on the garage above the restaurant. All in all, great food and definitely taking silly back there again!

Yummy Thai food on the Corner. Nothing exceptional, but good food and reasonable prices. Staff is friendly and responsive. I ordered the Thai fried rice with beef (mild) and was shocked by the heat. I would recommend mild or no spice is you're not too fond of chilli and/or have a low spice tolerance. I usually order mild/medium without a problem, but this place is no joke. The fried rice was yummy, aside from the heat and the beef, which was a bit chewy. I enjoyed the spring rolls. Unfortunately, I noticed the sweet and sour sauce at the bottom of the container too late. I was happily surprised with the tempura cheesecake. By the time I placed my order, the whip cream had melted and I was afraid the cheesecake would be soggy, but it actually maintained a crisp until I got home. It was the exact treat I was hoping it would be, and came with gooey fruit syrup. As for COVID guidelines, it seems like the staff is good about wearing masks and avoiding food contamination. There are allowing indoor seating currently and there weren't too many people in there at once, though I would recommend just ordering out.

I often come during the week for lunch but was lured in by the promise of Ramen on the weekends from 12-5 PM. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and my friend ordered the spicy miso ramen. Overall it was amazing. I'm so glad I came and I'll have to add it in to my rotation for places to eat.

Was really hoping for a great Thai food experience but unfortunately this place fell flat for me. I ordered the pad see ew noodles which is one of my favorite Thai dishes - the noodles were extremely gummy and had very little flavor. One of my friends I was with got the drunken noodles and was also disappointed. Service was friendly and prices are cheap but was left looking for more flavor.

Chicken appetizer. Dry chicken but tasty sauce

I've tried everything else and knew Q Noodles is well reviewed but HK is undefeated. We ordered takeout and decided to try a few different things on their menu. I will say the food came correct and the packaging was clean and tidy. The prices are expensive but the portions are huge. We ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees and couldn't finish all of it. 1 of each is enough for 2 people. The pork steamed buns were our favorite. Not the best I've had ever, but possibly the best in cville. The bun was super light and fluffy and the filling was savory. I prefer mine to be a bit sweeter with a BBQ flavor, so not my all time fav but very good. 8/10 The egg rolls were just fine. Well prepared and cooked. Tasted slightly too oily. The inside was cabbage and either ground pork or chicken. No carrot. The inside was so finely minced it kinda turned into a mush. So the texture was not the best. Hard to distinguish the flavor as well. 5/10 The sesame paste noodles with ground pork was presented beautifully with red cabbage, cucumber, edamame, corn, shredded carrot and cilantro. I think the sesame paste sauce was just too one dimensional, but maybe that's the point. The noodles were overdone so underneath the beautiful rainbow of toppings was just kind of a pile of mushy noodles in a plain sesame paste. After a few bites the earthiness/mushiness of the dish starts to be overwhelming ... not my favorite. 4/10 The general tsos was packaged well and came with white rice a few pieces of steamed brocolli and a ramen egg. The ramen egg was good. The general tsos the chicken was good quality and very fresh. It reminded me of an orange chicken in terms of how their GT tastes. My favorite GT in cville is from Hong Kong and unfortunately this one wasn't as good. The chicken was good quality but the texture was quite soft and not crispy the way I prefer. The sauce was also a bit too sweet for my preference. Overall, a good dish it is enjoyable just not my fav. 6/10 With how much hype they get I was expecting a bit more - perhaps at some point I will try their soup dumplings since they may be the only place in cville that does them. But for $13 for 6 pieces I may just continue to wait awhile considering the rest of their food was fairly average. Overall, a solid spot for average Chinese food. Nothing amazing but will satisfy a craving for well made Chinese food if you are looking in the uva area.

As is often the case on this arcade, the restaurant also has a dedicated set of outdoor seats at the middle of the brick walkway. You'd think all of this would be an upgrade, but no. First, I ordered in advance online to spare myself a wait, not knowing that it was an actual sit-down restaurant. However, upon arriving at the space, there was no one to take an order if I'd wanted to place one, and only rarely did anyone emerge from the back with food. I just took a seat and waited. By the time someone acknowledges my presence after some fifteen or twenty minutes, my food was apparently already ready and just sitting there. I didn't leave a tip as my impression of this place was that they weren't really providing any service. There's nothing wrong with a counter service model rather than full table service, but one way or another they seem not to have figured out what they were doing. Other potential diners also seemed confused. Don't get me wrong, the good was great. My ginger lemongrass noodle soup delivered an explosion of flavors. Would order again. I just hope they improve the customer service experience, because this is a great opportunity for the average local to try some vegetarian Vietnamese food.

My order was transferred over and was ready for me with no trouble. The vegetable dumplings weren't fancy, but there were a ton of them, and what seemed a small sauce proved more than enough. The sauce and dumplings aren't bad, but the sauce overpowers the nice flavor of the dumplings. The steam buns are fine, but I think they're reheating them in a microwave.
