Just very marginal! Mac and cheese which so cold it couldn't melt the shredded cheese! It certainly wouldn't pass health codes! Spaghetti zucchini noodle with meat balls

I love the choices and the variety at this chain restaurant. It always tastes fresh and I've never been disappointed. They offer low carb choices as well.

When my husband said he found a place that looked a little better to eat at and we walked into this place, I set my expectations very low. But, it was not as bad as I thought it would be, to be honest. The spicy beef Korean noodles were pretty good and filling. Has a little kick, but nothing a self respecting lover of spicy food cannot handle. They did not taste very "Korean" to me, but whateva. We also tried the Korean meatballs, which were surprisingly juicy and tasty. If you know me, I have a weird food hang up when it comes to meatballs, so this was a win. The potstickers though? Unremarkable. The kids meal is a good value. Kida got the pasta with 2 meatballs and steamed broccoli. Comes with a hippie juice box, aka Honest Kids brand. The pasta looked peasantish, BUT the kids like it. What can I say? I am a snob. They wee unable to finish their food because it was a lot. Pass on the tomato soup. It tastes like they heated up some Prego spaghetti sauce and called it soup.

Good food. They didn't have what I wanted, but the manager gave me a substitute suggestion that was perfect. Fun place. Hard parking.

There are…read moreabout a dozen different types of pasta and 1/2 a dozen sauces, lots of great vegetarian and meaty options! I love how they are at different farmers markets as I can go after work at the Penn Quarter market or catch them over the weekend near me around Falls Church, Mosaic District, and Reston. Come early because they sell out quick! I highly recommend the prepackaged Eggplant Parm, Pesto and Artichoke Cannelloni, and Marinara Spinach and Cheese Cannelloni, Spinach Tagliatelle, Cheese Pansiotti. The only dishes I don't recommend are the Gnocchi (difficult to cook), Thin Tagliatelle (thicker is better and easier to cook), and Pesto Sauce (too thick). My favorite dishes are the prepackaged baked Eggplant Parm, Pesto and Artichoke Cannelloni, and Marinara Spinach and Cheese Cannelloni. I love tossing them into the oven and within 30 minutes, viola! A delicious pipping hot Italian dish bursting with flavor. I really like how they are fail safe - you don't have to worry about overcooking pasta or buying sauce, cheese,or additional ingredients. Everything is included and those dishes are the best bang for your buck! When I'm not feeling lazy, I love cooking the fresh homemade pasta particularly the Spinach Tagliatelle and Cheese Pansiotti. The pasta is really soft and tender, it cooks al dente in a couple of minutes. It's really easy to over cook the pasta as I've done this a few times particularly for the thinner pastas. The Spinach Tagliatelle is unique pasta and thicker than fettuccine. As the spinach tagliatelli is hard to find and a top seller, I'm lucky if I get a chance to buy it before its sells out (keeping fingers crossed!) Of all the fresh pastas, the Tagliatelle has the largest serving and goes well with pesto. I really like the Cheese Pansiotti, a large ravioli stuffed with cheese and subtle garlic flavor that melts in your mouth and goes with ragu or marinara sauce. I wasn't a big of a fan of the thin tagliatelli, which is like spaghetti/bucatini, or the mini ravioli. I prefer the larger pastas. If you haven't cooked Gnocchi before, I don't recommend purchasing it. You need to cook it in under 30 seconds, I waited an extra 30 seconds and it turned into mush! To add insult to injury, I blended in the pesto sauce, which turned into mashed potato! I ended up throwing out the meal, $35 literally down the drain. Although the Pesto sauce is tasty, it comes frozen and very thick and difficult to blend in with the pasta. I recommend using it as a spread for sandwiches rather than for the pasta. I used the pesto for the thin tagliatelle, it was really hard to blend in and made the pasta congeal and clump together. The pesto sauce isn't worth $18. If you are going to eat the pasta within a week, I recommend just refrigerating them as they keep well. I don't recommend freezing the pasta as it tends to stick together. The pasta also keeps well after you cook or bake it. The pasta were good after a week. I gone to several farmers markets just to get Cavanna Pasta, they are that tasty and delicious! Their homemade pasta take me back to Italy.

The cream tomato sauce hit the mark without being too overbearing of either. The spaghetti dish was fantastic. The olive oil, garlic, and red pepper combo hit the spot. Seems basic, but executed perfectly. I was hoping for more homemade noodles, but it was basic boxed spaghetti- or so it tasted. Both portions were extremely generous. The only thing that would elevate the dishes would be some meat like pancetta or pork as a meat and to add some texture. The meatballs offered were in marinara and wouldn't go. Growing up Italian stateside, I never knew about this light, wavy pasta dish. So pappardelle pasta is like some rare delicacy and I love it. This pasta dish is not easy to find unless it has been popularized in the Italian dining scene, recently. How can I explain this pasta? Papardelle are not thick like butter noodles, but instead they are thin yet wide. And at Dal Grano's, they must be experienced to be savoured. Do call ahead, because they might just have them made. Dal Grano's is a neighborhood place. We love how when you are dining, they actually talk to you and are friendly. There are a few other places around Mclean proper which I wish were more overtly warm and hospitable, in this way. All of Dal Grano's pasta is homemade and delicious. It's definitely great for carryout pasta or a diner-style environment with a homemade pasta lunch or dinner. I don't think they deliver or work with any of the delivery services. You just call and pickup. The butternut squash ravioli is tender and flavorful. We have probably have gotten different versions of their ravioli every time. Outside of the papardelle, I'm all in for their rich squid ink pasta when it's made. I don't go there enough to know if it's always available. They have over 50 homemade pasta combinations to choose from and a big freezer case of food to take home. My biggest issue with Dal Grano's is when I see all of the pastas in the serving bowls presented to order and cook, I want to buy them all at once. I know it sounds tacky, but they make me yearn for a pasta buffet there just so that I can taste all of the variations. Alas, if we were in town more we'd just need to go more often to taste all of their selection. There's only one other restaurant that does Italian this well and it's around 15 minutes away in Falls Church. But even that fabulous Italian restaurant does not compare with the amount and selection of homemade pastas at Dal Grano's.
