It was hard to find Russ at times so we resorted to corresponding through email. After submitting comps for the appraiser to review and expressing my own anger and frustration with "the process," Russ finally sent over the documents to e-sign. Then I had to wait for the processor and underwriters to do their "thing." Today on July 8th Russ called and stated that he made a mistake in giving my wife credit for two pensions instead of one, therefore negating the whole deal. As Executive Vice-President, Russ should have known better than do what he obviously did. Be careful out there fellow refinancers. It is very hard to trust Russ Strange. I also want to say that there was little or no apology from Russ over the hard work of submitting documents and getting our house ready to be appraised. Russ made a $6,000 mistake on my file. There is simply no excuse for this. Southeast Mortgage and Russ Strange should be made to give me a refinance mortgage for their and Russ's mistake.

I can't really do a comparison when it comes to Lenders. I had Phillip Oh as my main contact first since my mother knew him fairly well. He was pretty good at getting back to me via email, text, call. Response time was probably within 45 mins? Pretty good for a busy guy. You should always see how long a Lendor takes in response time because some take 24 hours to get back to you. I HATE that time frame. At first Phillip didn't really send me an email introducing himself - I felt kind of miffed. But once my realtor told him to do so, he quickly sent me an email. Apparently, he prefers to gather all data and then send an email. I guess that's fine for some folks, but not me. Once the first part of getting info for my home was done - I worked with his employee Don. Don was fine. I think I was tougher on Don since I panicked probably like 4-5x before signing on the dotted line. Hey - buying a home for the first time can be stressful. I think I lit a fire under Don a few times, but he was more than happy to make sure I felt better. Sorry Don! Oh - Phillip and Don used a secure email account for all my personal documents. Phillip & Don were able to get all my docs together quickly, make it very painless to sign papers (electronically), answered all questions, and kept me in the loop of the process. Overall - I barely felt stressed when it came to papers. My main stress - which was questions - was put at ease quickly.

From the beginning, I sense that she was not focused on her work, as if she were engaged in too many other activities that had nothing to do with her loan officer responsibilities. The whole process was so frustrating and surreal, I started to think they were scanning me for the $600 I paid for the appraisal. I should have followed my gut at the beginning and went with another company. I eventually did, and received great expedited services and a better rate with another lender.
