I have brought a lot of computers from Lenovo over the years, both for myself and friends, and for business. They make solid, business class machines. Their laptops are near indestructible. I have seen a laptop get knocked off an office desk and not only did it not break, it was still running (did not crash or reboot). Tough and built to last. The downside is that they usually have premium price tags to match.
It is not widely known but the Lenovo online store often has specials and discounts, particularly for older stock and especially around May/June (end of financial year). By older I mean a newer model has been released, so often these machine are only six months out of date and last years 'top of the line' model is just as good as this years 'middle of the range'. The discount on these superseded models can be as high as 60% and this includes all of the original warranty and other conditions. The down side is that once stock is sold the special is over. If you want a particular machine right now then you may have to pay full price and you might be better off going else where; but if you can wait, sign up to their mailing list and don't wait when you see a bargain.
Disclosure: I used to work for IBM which used to own Lenovo. That was years ago and I do not have any association now apart from being a happy customer. read more
